The new GM Amelia came over and introduced herself which was so sweet. You can tell the whole staff have a lot of pride in the work they do. Perfect spot for the summer and I plan to be back soon.“

“First of all the line wasn’t too bad at all! It looks intimidating when you walk up but things move relatively quickly and nobody seemed too bothered to be in line so that’s a confidence builder that the food is good. They have menus available outside so you can prepare what you want to order before you get inside. The options roll out at different times of the morning so the best times to arrive depend on what you’d like to order. We each got a coffee (a Japanese iced coffee and a dirty Horijita latte). Started with the Morning “Queen” which was like a crunchy croissant with wonderful fluffy interior. The almond croissant is definitely one of the best in the city with a great balance of crunchy, soft, buttery, and flaky textures with the classic buttery almond flavor. Finally the coconut chocolatine was the most unique, really beautiful textures and a nice combo of sweet and salty with the deep richness of chocolate binding everything together. I see why people love this place so much. Highly recommended!“

The owners were incredibly kind and welcoming, making the experience even better. The decor has a nostalgic charm that took me right back to my childhood—especially the mini piano and gold telephone. She was familiar with the two customers in front of me. It definitely had a neighborhood friendly vibe. The shop was busy. Most of the tables on the first floor were taken up when I was there. Be sure to take a stroll up the stairs. At the top of the stairs was an adorable little spot for two people to sit and chat. The second floor has a great little area to sit and ready or study. The top floor was full of light. I ordered my usual cortado. It was a solid drink. The cortado wasn't bad but it also wasn't anything spectacular to write home about.“

“I love the mamas on the half shell in Owings Mills. The food is great and I am a frequent diner. I love Mary, Alaina, and Gavin the best. They are so courteous and customer service orientated. “I cannot say enough good things about our experience at Ampersea! From the moment we walked in we felt welcome. Joey was absolutely fantastic - setting us up at a table with an amazing view and checking on us multiple times during our visit. He offered to take our coats after we were seated and then offered to take pictures of us when we were on our way out. Ampersea has definitely been the most positive experience we have had during our trip. I can honestly say that Joey is the sole reason we cannot wait to come back to enjoy a meal and a drink (or 2, or 3 haha) once the weather is nicer! If I could give more than 5 stars, I would!“

The food was incredible — huge portions, hand-cut fries, house-made blue cheese, and perfectly hand-breaded chicken tenders. The Crab Rangoon dip and Buffalo Cauliflower were outstanding. “Sneaky good gastropub. My party enjoyed everything we got. Started with Crab Corn Chowder which was high-end restaurant quality; robust amount of crab too. Feedback on dinners -- Classic Cheesesteak, Chicken Wrap, and Cuban (had pulled pork and pork roll, a true NJ flair) -- exceedingly positive. Then the Duck Fat Fried Donut Holes...OMG, one of the best desserts ever. Next afternoon I went back for a quick Natty Bo and guy next to me said he goes weekly for the Pit Turkey and the chef does a great job on the smoked meats. Will definitely make a regular stop when in town again. Prices fair, a good value, and no wait. Neighborhood location, so a locals-only sort of feel. Kudos to the chef!“

“This is my favorite place to go in Baltimore. Aside from my house. I don't know what to point out as the deciding factor, but it just feels comfortable to me. The food is good, not great — I absolutely love the French Dip Cheesesteak. The wait staff and bartenders are always beyond friendly. We've done trivia nights and game days and quiet nights. My wife absolutely loves the dirty martini. Her favorite in the city. And it's a short walk from my home. I hope it's here for another 100 years.“

The Special Tibbs was so great that we asked for a separate order of it in chicken (lamb, beef, or chicken). We “bothered” our waiter quite a bit and he didn’t mind a bit. He was so caring and kind. “When we lived in Maryland I bought all of our coffee from High Grounds. I have now moved to Georgia and wouldn't consider changing my coffee source. The main reason that one would go to a coffee roaster for the 2nd, 3rd or 99th time would be for the quality of the coffee, and any one who would rate High Grounds less than 5 star“

The black teas are delightfully full & perfect with, or without a meal. This shop is a GEM, & is located right here, in the Mnt Vernon neighborhood of Baltimore City.“
