“I visited Dōgon on June 24th, located within the Salamander Hotel in Washington, DC. The ambiance was exactly what I expected—warm, sophisticated, and distinctly urban chic.

While the pricing is on the higher end, the Afro-Caribbean cuisine more than justified the investment. From the moment we arrived until the conclusion of our meal, both the food and service were exceptional. Despite a full house of guests, the staff remained attentive, professional, and engaged throughout the dining experience.

“This place was recommended and I am so glad we tried it. Healthy food. So many options. I ordered the Jerk Mango Salad. I didn’t change a thing and wouldn’t. Perfect kick without being too spicy. Mango salsa was the best I’ve had. We also ordered the BBQ bowl. I wouldn’t change a thing in it. Try the Red Rice. It’s really good. Staff was quick, explained the menu and ordering process and also offered a taste of you weren’t sure you’d like something. 10/10. I’ll be back again.“

“Gosh I love this place! Had never tried Caribbean food before, but I've decided that I love it! The space is very bright and welcoming. The server behind the counter was suuuper friendly, and his attitude lowkey matched the bright atmosphere. He was very patient as I was trying to figure out what I wanted, and some good recommendations on the sauces. I ordered a jerk shrimp bowl with various toppings like corn, carrots, shallots, coleslaw, etc. It was FIRE, I'm sad we were rushing cause I didn't have time to eat it all, but I'd definitely go back if I were to visit DC again.“

“I visited his location for a friend's song release party in the atmosphere was great. I just wish they had more bartenders and waiters in the area to serve food as it was a huge crowd. The drinks were strong and good, which I appreciate. I will definitely be visiting again.“

“So after long day of work I had decided to order the lamb chops with a side of Mac & cheese as well as the rice and peas. When I was finished I was mad I ate it so quick. Everything was cooked to perfection. Lamb chops were seared perfectly; Nice and tender. The sauce that was on them was wheeeeeeewieeeee amazing doesn't even begin to describe it. Then it also went well with the rice and peas and the Mac... Now the Mac wasn't your normal everyday cheese, noodles, some seasoning and that's it. Let's just say if it was tasted by Chef Ramsey he wouldn't even have anything bad to say. Never had any before like that in my life ( just hoping my mom doesn't see this review 😅).“

“I went to this location for the first time the other day and everything was good! From the music to the service to the food. There were two young people serving us that did an excellent job! If you go there, look for Analyse and Shamar. They were super professional, patient, and quick! We had no clue what we wanted to eat, but they helped us figure it out lol. I have to show some love because people these days don’t care anymore about good service. Especially young people. When I was younger, good service was important. These were two young people that took such good care of us, and the food was delicious! A+“

The server for taking orders is very friendly, with a casual dining environment. The food comes in a healthy portion, with relatively decent flavors. While not my first pick, I think this place is worth checking out.“

“Cool concept it’s like +6 kitchens in 1. They offer a lot of different promos on social media. From Alana pizza, I ordered the burrata and the bacon pesto pizza. The burrata was really fresh and I enjoyed the pesto pizza. From Di Fara pizza, I ordered the pepperoni, sausage and meatball pizza. Not sure if it was dough or the pizza was undercooked, but I wish there was more of a crisp to the crust. I found myself chewing longer than expected.

Location was really clean and ordering via the app was easy. There’s plenty of street parking around the shopping center. Prices are high for the area. I would definitely be back to try some of the other restaurants.“
