“YUM! First let’s talk about the desserts. We waived the appetizers so we could try some yummy Italian desserts and man oh man they didn’t disappoint! My fave was the apple pie doughboy, freshly baked apples with a hint of a crunch still in them, wrapped in delicately flavored dough, this was the perfect treat and not overly sweet. Now the decadent chocolate cake was a rich flavorful indulgent dream come true. The whipped even tasted fresh. These freshly made desserts were worth the wait. “We switched to the LaPlata location after COVID because Waldorf seemingly couldn't make a pizza without burning it and it was often difficult to get someone to answer the phone. Since then, I order from LaPlata every Sunday, and we also celebrate my kids' birthdays there. We've NEVER had a problem; even when they're slammed the waitress (I'm sorry, I don't know her name) is always on her game. I deal with the same people every week and they're always pleasant. I see a bunch of negative reviews and I'm more inclined to believe the majority are just miserable people who either want something for nothing or just want to complain. It's a pizza place... if you want a 5-star dining experience and gourmet meals, then go to Old Town Alexandria and pay $125-150 for a meal.“

“Service was fast and food was good however, our wonderful server picked up everybody's drink glasses by the top of the rim of the glass where you put your lips whether she was picking up dirty glasses or putting down clean glasses, we all had her fingers right where our lips go and it was disgusting. She was young. I don't blame this on her. I blame this on management. Any good manager would have already noticed she was doing this, and corrected this nasty new server habit.“
