“I had the Arancini, gnocchi sardi, and olive oil cake and they were all fantastic. And while I came for food, I will say the two things I'll remember the most were 1. The fact you gave postcard with the receipt as a souvenir and one less thing I'd have to buy on my trip and 2. The service was amazing. I forget what her name is now, but my waitress came over and cleaned off the table of the two or three crumbs of truffle I had and got me new silverware for the second course. I can't think of any other restaurant I've been to where I've had service that attentive before.“

“San Matteo is such a neighborhood gem, with consistently stellar food and service. I always order one of the house-made pastas and end with the tiramisu and chocolate lava cake. The servers are warm and attentive-- shout out to Carolina who was so friendly and extremely accommodating of our picky eater's needs!“

“This was our first visit to a local Italian restaurant in/at Bethesda row. Nice atmosphere. Service was very attentive.

The food was above average in general - we tried two appetizers, two main dishes and a desert.

There was a special on the menu - corn and crab agnolotti that was excellent. Zucchini appetizer was savory. The crème puff was also excellent. However, lamb shank didn’t impress.

“Made a reservation for my wife's birthday as she's been craving chicken parm and it did not disappoint. Everything about the experience was wonderful from our server, Elise, to the delicious food, to the hospitable management. Had such a great birthday dinner and loved the experience. The pinot grigio we had, Loop (i think was the name), recommended by Elise was just a perfect pairing with the chicken parm and chicken marsala we had. Just a really fun experience.“

“Absolutely amazing restaurant all around. Starting with the focaccia, mock tails, & cocktails. I’m not a bread eater but i ate quite a bit of it as it was extremely delicious. For the entree, I ordered the red snapper and my husband ordered the burger and they were both equally delicious. Desert. We ordered the tiramisu and cheesecake and were both divine. Definitely recommend.“

“On vacation from RI, my husband and I and very good friends had lunch at Lily’s just this past week and we fully enjoyed experience! It was a beautiful sunny day, and we were greeted with sunny faces and a friendly, highly professional staff. Being of Sicilian descent, I noticed they had some familiar foods you can’t just get anywhere and made a reservation. What a pleasant surprise! Recently went a second time to buy a friend I have not seen in years dinner. The service was personable and engaging. Had an incredible evening. My friend who is a foodie praised the quality of everything. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. Pricing is great for the Bethesda area.

“I work not far from here, so I decided to place a To-Go order online, I ordered for a specific time, and waited about 5 minutes before they brought my order to my car, I got The Chicken & Gnocchi soup, very good, and The Calabrian Steak & Shrimp Bucatini, it was very good, there was nice size chunks of Steak, I cut them into bite-size pieces and it was plenty, it had just enough flavor, I'll definitely get it again!“

“I had a to go order of their eggplant parmigiana with spaghetti, and a side salad. The young gentleman at the pick up counter was so friendly and welcoming. The food was great! The spaghetti was the star (very tasty!), and the salad was pretty good as well as the eggplant parmigiana (a little more sauce would elevate it). They were extremely generous with portion size and the food easily was enough to make 2-3 meals. Price very reasonable too. Look forward to supporting Mama Lucia and frequenting this business more!“

We had calamari which was probably the best I've ever had, we had spaghetti with meatballs and with meat sauce also linguine with shrimp delicious all around.
