“Worst creme brûlée I have ever had at a restaurant. Not creamy at all, more like scrambled eggs. The only good part was the burnt sugar on top. Went for restaurant week and they did mint have the crab soup available which was on the restaurant week menu, and one of the main reasons I went. Fried green tomatoes were good as well as the mussels. But definitely let down by dessert.”

“This was not a planned trip. 495 was backed up, so I went looking for an Hmart. Inside is this little gem, Momo's Bakery. I wish I would have done 2 things different. 1) Taken pictures. 2) Bought more!!

Oh my goodness gracious! I got the custard, strawberry cream and regular cream (vanilla). Should have bought more of everything. This place is not close to where I live, but if I am back in that area, I will stop again and definitely buy more.

On top of it, the lady who helped me was super sweet. 5 🌟 all around!”

“Ordered KFC Chicken in advance on the App. The App said that the order was ready, but it was ready 15 minutes later. Several people who pre-ordered (including a food pickup drive) were told the same thing and was getting testy waiting.The Tuesday 8 piece Dark Chicken for $10 was worth the wait.

“The staff was very friendly and provided great customer service, which I really appreciated. Unfortunately, the food didn't meet my expectations. I ordered the wings, and they tasted like they were cooked in old grease. Instead of being a nice golden brown, they came out dark brown and overly crispy, which affected both the flavor and quality. Based on my experience, I can understand why people say this place is hit or miss. I hope they improve the consistency because the customer service was definitely the highlight of my visit.”

The food did not live up to my expectations of Hong Kong/Cantonese flavors... We found this restaurant through the Eater channel on youtube. After our meal, we decided the food was better described as French cuisine with HK influence. I honestly wanted a little soy sauce and rice vinegar with everything. Umami was largely missing from every dish except the duck noodles.

Split between 2 people:
-green beans (Fine, good texture, but needed more acid to balance rich sweetness. The topping of pickled anaheims were not enough to balance the entire plate),
-dumplings (gentle truffle flavors and nice sweetness from the espuma, but overall unremarkable)
-scallion pancakes (little to no allium flavor, dough was tough, lacked flakes/delicate texture, lacked salt and acid in the sweet tamarind sauce)
-daikon fritters (overwhelmingly bland and dry, needed a dipping condiment)
-Duck noodles finally had some flavor! (But the duck appeared smoked, closer to pastrami... tasty, but not what I expected from duck noodles at an HK restaurant.)
The wine was good. I did appreciate the selection of natural wines.
Overall we were disappointed based on our expectations for and previous experiences with HK/Cantonese dining. The textures and flavors reminded me of a low sodium, easy to chew menu prioritizing French techniques and flavor profiles.
Table condiments (besides chili oil) would have fixed most of my complaints, but I felt embarrassed to ask based on the atmosphere. I felt that my personal culinary tastes were misaligned with the deeply thoughtful and dining experience.
We were not the target diners for this fine establishment, but I recognize the passion, excellence, and personal intention behind every design and culinary choice at Queen's English.”

“I stopped in with friends before a event Sunday evening. The staff was warm and welcoming. I had the lentil sambusas and a peanut-infused coffee at the staff’s recommendation. The food was fast and delicious- the sambusas were warm and spicy, and the peanut coffee was delicious! In a kind gesture, the chef sent over a sampling of sushi to our table. Fresh and refreshing, the sushi was a nice complement to my sambusas and hot beverage. I’m not on this side of town often, but now I have a reason to come back.”

“We walked in 45 minutes before our reservation and they accommodated us. Their Martini's and Old Fashioned's were impeccably prepared. We had Steak Tartare, Chorizo Dumplings, and Blackened Cod. They each had unique and unexpected flavorings that challenged any preconceived ideas we had, they were each unique and the flavor profiles worked across them. I would go back and try separate offerings.”

“Finding a Filipino restaurant isn’t easy. So learning about Purple Patch thru Jo Koy—has ended this search! Literally, Filipino cuisine heaven! The restaurant is uniquely decorated, the staff were friendly, & the food hit that major comfort button for us! Thank you Zahara for being so sweet & a wonderful waitress. “Have dined at Reveler's Hour a few times over the years and it is excellent every time! The menu is always fresh and seasonal and they have the best wine list! Highlights are definitely the pastas and garlic knots. A good selection of NA beverages as well. Can't forget to highlight the outstanding staff and thoughtful service. We love taking out of town guests here!”
