“This is a sandwich shop within the Bangor Maine airport. Ample selection- food is good. This is one of the few options for food within the small airport. No frills. No table service but friendly staff at counter while ordering. If at Bangor Airport, good to go here. Good option.“

“We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience at the Tailwinds Grille located within the Aviator Hotel. Our lobster rolls were out of this world, the woppie pie dessert was great, and the service tonight was excellent. This place is super convenient for dining during an overnight stay, and the food is way better than what the reviews show.“

“The woodwork is very nice. It has the feel of a local. It was clean. It was missing a dart board. The art was black and white...lacked colour. Our server was very accommodating and the bar tender was extremely friendly. The menu was kind of Irish. It does have the adopted bar dish of Bangers and Mash which the Claddagh uses the term " bratwurst" to describe the sausage. Lots of Guinness based dishes too...A bratwurst is a German sausage typically made with pork, often seasoned with spices like nutmeg, marjoram, and caraway, while an Irish sausage, also called a "banger," is a milder sausage with a higher proportion of meat and less pronounced spices, often including ingredients like breadcrumbs or rusk to create a softer texture. Fish and Chips and other bar staples were there....but it does not feel Irish.
I guess it meets the definition. An authentic Irish pub will be a very laid back and chill. This meets the bill. A good place for a drink if you get over it's a hotel bar with limited hours and serves tater tots/pizza.
So the order:
A salad was brought out. It was a garden salad. It only loses points based on the courtons having this dry crumbly look....it was a salad. Nothing lost nor nothing gained.
The soup of the day...was chowder. The name "chowder" comes from the French word chaudiere, which refers to a large, three-legged iron cooking pot. I mean chowder is traditional Irish. Again uninspired...No beef barley, curry soup (mulligantawny), potato leek....something!!!
Now, The special entree was great! I had the chicken pot pie. The pastry top was flaky and good. My party got there at 5:18. Despite us and only 1 other party being in the dining room...We were told that we ordered the last two! This was really great and I am sorry other patrons missed out. It was piping hot with potato, Mashed Potatoes smeared to adhere the pastry, carrots, peas, chicken (very little). Plating was messy. I give it a A- but because of the pastry. The filling was a B. Again, the staff made the atmosphere by being very kind.“

“We've eaten from Chinese restaurants across Canada and the New England states over the past couple of weeks. The food here was the best so far. Not as good as expensive restaurants, but good for takeout and the price.Note: This is a strictly take out or delivery place. No tables available inside.“

“First time here this season and as usual, it did not disappoint! I ordered the crab roll instead of my usual lobster roll and it's an 11/10! Fresh hot hand cut fries, perfectly salted. Cold, crisp pickle. a generous portion of fresh crab in a tiny bit of mayo on top of a small perfect amount of lettuce, stuffed in a fresh buttered and toasted bun, and a 4oz container of fresh home made Cole slaw. It doesn't get any better, or more fresh! There's a reason they've won best food truck in the Bangor area for several years in a row. Pro Tip- eat the fries first! They're always fresh and hot, but if you don't eat them first, they cool off quick. They have 5 picnic tables with umbrellas you can eat at, or eat it right in your car. The cherry on top is the excellent choice of tunes playing, and the amazing customer service. Don't change a thing!“
