After reading the reviews for Shannon's, we drove to Boothbay and couldn't believe all the gluten free options. We ordered more food than we needed because there were so many options. Everything was fresh and delicious. Seriously, gluten free onion rings! During that trip, we ate there twice and twice again the next year. We are looking forward to next year's trip and more Shannon's food. In addition to the food, the staff are warm, welcoming and friendly and make you feel like a neighbor instead of a tourist. We are huge Shannon's Unshelled fans!“

“Spectacular doesn’t begin to describe our experience at Grey Havens Inn! From the moment we arrived, the magnificent harbor view beckoned us to sit in a big ol’ rocking chair on the Inn’s lovely porch, cocktail in hand & relax completely into the moment. Oh & sunsets? Outstanding! Our first moments at Grey Havens were so warm & welcoming. Actually even before arriving, calls with innkeepers, Ali & Carlos, had us beyond excited for our initial stay. I say initial because of course we definitely will return & soon I hope! I could list endlessly all the delightful elements that the Grey Havens team have combined to create a place in which one can truly & gloriously unwind. From the lovely & cozy guest rooms to the gorgeous bay-windowed common room (with its stunning actual bay-view) the vibe is marvelous. Grey Havens feels quintessentially seaside Maine with just the barest but perfect touch of some lovingly placed & demure whimsy to intrigue a curious eye. Our initial stay dates did not overlap with Blue’s calendar, sadly. However the many tales we heard of Chef Esau’s creations have us drooling in anticipation. We will ensure we enjoy a dinner at Blue upon our return to Grey Havens.“

“We've been going to Karen's for many years. The ambience is side-of-the-road but the food is amazing. The crab BLT is to die for. The fries are always great. I always manage to wrangle loaded baked potato salad and pineapple coleslaw sides because they are both super delicious and I shouldn't have to choose! Love Karen's!“

“The Pine family are amazing hosts. They have updated all the rooms beautifully. At Spinney's you have a warm family atmosphere and great service. The continental breakfast at the guesthouse is very convenient, and meals at the restaurant are top notch. The seafood options are my favorite, but for my husband who doesn't like seafood, the burger option was a favorite. The beach is beautiful and access is right on the property across the parking lot. Waking up to and ocean sunrise is the ultimate vacation experience.“

“Ports of Italy is one of our absolute favorite restaurants—not only in town, but in all of Maine. We travel throughout the state quite a bit, and few restaurants consistently impress us the way Ports of Italy does. Everything we’ve ever ordered has been absolutely delicious, with the eggplant appetizer being a particular favorite. The atmosphere is equally wonderful: cozy and intimate, yet distinctly coastal and perfectly suited to its setting.

We also have to give a special shoutout to George, our favorite server. He is incredibly kind, genuine, and attentive without ever being overbearing. We genuinely look forward to being seated at one of his tables each time we visit. Great food, a wonderful atmosphere, and exceptional hospitality make Ports of Italy a place we’re always happy to return to.“

“My husband, his friend and I had a fantastic dinner 4 nights ago ... Highly recommended by another friend and we were not disappointed.....the food /service was exceptional...halibut bouillabaisse was superb...I even drank the broth...I didn't care who saw me ..husband and his friend had risotto....all was scraped down to the bottom of the dish Waitress was a 20 out of 10... knowledgeable about menu..also she was bartender..drink was great Dessert was a blueberry cheese cake .melted in your mouth This was our 1st time and won't be our last The chef Karin has such a skill with food .so impressed! If you all want an exceptional meal go to the Boathouse...you won't be disappointed! The place isn't fancy..boaty decor...who cares....the food makes up for it!“

The entire Coastal Prime team was attentive and wonderful to work with. The food, drinks and view were great - couldn’t have had a better start to our wedding weekend! Highly recommend.“

“My wife and I were at the lounge the last 2 nights. Great atmosphere, the bartender was extremely friendly. It was our second trip to Boothbay/Sunset Lounge. Or previous experience was the same. Great place to visit, the Harbor Inn is away from the restaurants, shops and bars, but it is only a footbridge away.

Parking: Stay at the harbor inn, you won't drive again until you are ready to leave. Everything is within walking distance.“

“This is one of our favorite spots. We go back every trip. The view is A+. Nothing compares to sitting out on the deck, watching the boats while enjoying a drink.

The food is always great. The clam chowder is one of the bests on BBH. The bang bang shrimp and the Caesar with blackened haddock. Everything is fresh and consistently delicious.

What makes it even better is the people. Chloe, Katy and Lily are the BEST and make you feel right at home every single time. They’re a huge part of why we keep coming back.

“Seals, amazing service and good food.

Our server was very sweet, from Bulgaria, she was very considerate and gave us great recommendations about what to get.

We saw two seals, there's a nice historical site nearby.

Food was pretty good, tacos were my favorite (fried) but the clam chowder was good. Salad was also pretty good snd the coleslaw slaw.

Fried oysters was just not our thing but fries were good. We really wanted to try the fresh oystets but they were out. Would try that if we were in the area again!
The shrimp and scallops scampi had great shrimp and scallops, but the pasta sauce was too lemony and I couldn't taste the garlic or enjoy the pasta as much.

“Had a late lunch here today. The food and service were excellent. Danny did a great job. Kitchen cooked the rib eye perfectly. The pan seared scallops over risotto was also excellent. We will definitely visit again.“

“Our dinner at Ocean Point Kitchen with Joel as a server was excellent but I have one issue with their logic. My dinner, a chicken breast included asparagus as one of the sides. Asparagus, on their menu is a $12 side if added. As i do not eat asparagus, i asked for substitute and was told i could but “would be charged.” My preferred change would have been French fries, an $8 side item. In what world would some business not swap a $12 item for an $8 item effectively saving them $4.00. I just don't get it. After thinking about it, I should have said do not waste the asparagus, give me half credit for their alleged value, and we all win. Maybe it how they do math in Maine?“
