“This place is doing absolutely beautiful things for this community. We had heard about it on one of the MDI pages. My husband and I wanted to check out the popovers but what we walked away with was so much more. We were welcomed in by the volunteers, given directions on how it all worked, and were able to have some incredible popovers while listening to music. We returned our last morning on island with our entire family, including our two dogs and enjoyed popovers as we sung along to songs from the Common Good Band. It was my 7 months olds first time on the island and I am so glad she got to experience all of that. Incredible Popovers, Awesome atmosphere and great cause. We can’t wait to come back on our next visit.”

“Just had a top notch dinner at Havana. And as someone who has to eat gluten free I was so impressed when the waiter brought out gluten free bread for me when he brought out bread for the table AND my own butter/spreads for it so there wasn’t cross contamination. Every dish we ate was amazing. Do not overlook the vegan option! My daughter (not vegan) thought it was one of the best meals she has eaten in years.”

“Food was delicious but the service was less than acceptable. The girl that assisted us made us feel more of a bother or inconvenience. There was only 1 coffee made out of 5 machines, not everyone is a fan of dark roast or decaf. And the creamer machine was not working. We had the bacon omelet and blueberry pancakes, delicious. Coffee just meh. Prices are Island priced.”

The rooms were beautifully appointed, the service was attentive and warm, and the location couldn’t have been more picturesque. Every detail felt thoughtful and refined. Dining at Little Fern was also a highlight—delicious food, elegant ambiance, and top-tier hospitality. But what truly made our trip unforgettable was our charter with Lady A. We were lucky enough to set out with Captain Alwyn, a knowledgeable and passionate local who brought the beauty of the area to life in such a personal and engaging way. From hidden coves to sweeping coastal views, every moment on the water felt like a scene from a dream. Captain Alwyn’s expertise, warmth, and deep roots in the community made the experience both relaxing and enriching. If you’re staying at the Claremont, I can’t recommend this experience enough. Treat yourself to a day on Lady A—it’s a must-do, and one of the most memorable parts of our Maine getaway.”

“Ordered a panini and was mistakenly given someone else’s order with 3 paninis. Once I returned to the register and informed the staff they immediately worked on sorting it out. Not only did they make sure my correct order was out in the next five minutes, they refunded my entire purchase. The food was definitely worth it and I would come back and eat here again. Customer service on point!”

“I got a cold breakfast sandwich today. With an egg that had been sitting on the grill for who knows how long because I saw it when I came in and every other time I’ve been in they have grilled them. I always get hot coffee to go. This is my last trip here this year and unfortunately it ended this way. Normally it is very good.”

“Yesterday my daughter and I were excited to take my husband to Blaze as we had such a great experience previously. We had our lab/Pyranese mix Tucker Lee with us. Sam, the bartender greeted us and she proceeded to take our orders/make us drinks. We enjoyed our meal and enjoyed the music next door. Tucker Lee Sat at our feet watching his surroundings and waiting for some treats from us. He let out a little bark 3 times. They were quick minor barks looking to go make friends and he quickly settled back down. No one was near us and no one in the surrounding tables even flinched as we were in a dog friendly town/bar or so we thought. Sam decided she no longer wanted us there. With my drink still half full she told us she was going to get our bill together as she was uncomfortable and that we should not have a reactive dog in public. She then went on to tell us she works with animals. This same dog that apparently made her uncomfortable with a quick minor bark was greeted at other restaurants in Maine with open arms, a bowl of water and lots of petting. He was also greeted in Bar Harbor along the walkways and trails by many people wanting to pet and interact with him. The guy with the parrots had Tucker Lee interact with them. It is her loss and now Blaze's loss. I hope she enjoyed the generous tip I left to ensure the others were compensated as it will sadly be the last time we visit Blaze or recommend it. Great food and drinks is one thing but friendly and decent service is an absolute must. You cannot insult your customers especially their beloved pets. Also if you are going to be a dog friendly bar be sure your bartender greets all dogs with water, a treat maybe and an acknowledgement. Tucker Lee got none of those. Only a judgement on his size. Big dogs deserve love too!”
