“Fantastic! The best shawarma we've ever had in a wrap! The dumplings and Cauli were totally spicy and added shrimp, delicious. The fried Mexican cheese was also delicious! Highly recommend, we're only in town for 2 days so we'll be back tomorrow!“

“I love coming here and seeing the smiling faces of owners John and Martha. When John told me he was opening last year, I just couldn’t wait to try the unique food he was presenting. I’ve had the Pesky 3 times each time with a different base, and it hasn’t disappointed yet. I’ve been many times and tried different apps and they are all top notch in flavor, presentation, and portion. The idea and food for Behind the Plate is unique, and the menu options are refreshing compared to most traditional sports themed restaurants.Whether you’re with the family, coworkers after a long day in the office, or looking for a good hot meal and drinks with friends for the game this is the place to go.Parking: Plenty of free parking.Kid-friendliness: There’s something for the kids too. They get a free pack of baseball cards with a kids meal.“

“I've been on an oyster kick for a year now. Scouring the NE region and even down to NOLA for the most flavorful bipeds. The Franklin is a total gem. $2 Happy hour oysters were limited to the 3 of their 9 available oyster options from the raw bar. Basically, it is a large, medium, and small offering, which is a fair way to do business. They included a blueberry habanero hot sauce, which was pure fire in the best way.The local cheese appetizer was blackberry goat cheese and made an excellent dip for the Franklin fries!Blueberry bread pudding rounded out the perfect evening. 10/10 would recommend. Don't leave Portsmouth without stopping here.“

“Got a turkey club sandwich. Was very good and fresh ingredients. Fries were thick cut. Pickle slice was large. Staff was very friendly, especially seeing we arrived 45 min. before closing (internet had the wrong hours). They didn't rush us, we only knew the time because we heard other patrons say it. This is at a golf course so has that vibe. The tavern is behind the main building, which is for functions. When you park, looking at the building, walk to the left and around back. Took us a minute to find it because out was dark.“

“10 out of 10! Fantastic craft beers, creative and delicious comfort foods, cozy ambiance, and fabulous service! We are former Dover dwellers and C&M is one more reason to keep coming back to our favorite NH city! We loved the chicken nuggets, Rueben croquettes, fish & chips, pork sandwich, and tomato soup. Stomp Box was the beer of choice and we liked it so much, we took cans to go. Perfect hazy IPA! (We live 3 miles from a Tree House brewery so this is saying a lot!)“

“Seated at a comfortable couch in the living room, we waited in luxury for our group to be called back. Everything is meticulous and expertly crafted. Conversation with the Chef was the final spice added to a phenomenal evening. 2.5 hours we will happily repeat many times over.“

“I finally had the chance to go to The Riverworks since the new owners and I'm so glad I did! I was greeted with a smile and sat with a friend at a great little table for two. We both had a strong and tasty drink and a beer with the absolutely delicious beer-battered chicken tenders and a charcuterie board. It's a really cozy, intimate place to hang out and I would go back in a heartbeat!“

“Sorry - no pictures... we stopped here on Friday April 12th for dinner and sat at the bar. The bartender was very nice. My wife had the chicken sandwich - it was large and excellent. I had the burger - it was the best cooked burger I have had in years. We had a great time and will definitely be back.“

“I personally did not eat here but my wife and daughter, who has a severe dairy allergy ate here last night. My wife was overwhelmed with how accommodating they were and the level of seriousness that they took her allergy. I can't begin to tell you how amazing it is for us to go out to eat "like normal families do" and for it to not be a STRICTLY vegan restaurant. My wife told me she was close to tears. I just wanted to thank the staff at this great restaurant for giving them this experience. My wife and daughter are in town for a tour of UNH and I am very happy to know she will have a safe place to hang with friends and get a bite to eat without worry. It will definitely make the 5 and a half hour drive a little easier.Dietary restrictions: Severe dairy allergy“
“Went to a Christmas party here, it's beautiful. The staff is very nice and the food was great. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars, my only complaint, we were supposed to have dinner starting at 7, it was 830 before the salad came out and a little after 9 when dinner came.“

“Excellent food and beer. We ordered steak tips and fish & chips. The steak tips were cooked exactly as ordered and tasted great, along with the mashed potatoes and chef’s vegetables (Brussels sprouts - not bitter, cooked well). Good serving size for the price, $22. The fish and chips were great too, with the fries being above average compared to most places around. Large portion size on the fish and chips - we asked for it to be split two ways and it arrived on two plates with individual portions and each plate was more than enough. Arrived on a Sunday afternoon so it was quiet, nice seating outside and prompt service.“
