Buoy Shack Reviews
great location, great views but wasn't impressed with the food. I had a 3 ounce lobster roll for $20+, they wanted $55 for a 6 ounce.😱 there was more roll then lobster and the roll was over toasted. The Cole slaw was right out of a bag and blah. The only good part was the blueberry margarita, but I think I overheard the employee say it was only 5%. They didn't offer whole lobster.🫤 Go for the view, maybe order a burger or hot dog.
I had the haddock sandwich with french fries and they were absolutely delicious. I’ve eaten there several times in the past and have never been disappointed with the food. The staff was friendly and very attentive, and we received our food promptly. I must say, however I don’t appreciate the preset minimum tip starting at 20%, that seems rather high for food served in a cardboard basket…

We stopped in on a whim Sunday early evening.
We were seated quickly and the attention was outstanding. We never felt we were waiting on anything.
I ordered the haddock sandwich and added cheese to it. It was the best fish sandwich I have ever had!
I will be looking for reasons to go up to the Kittery area again so I can get that sandwich.

Menu
The Buoy Shack provides a true New England summer experience with a casual, dog-friendly atmosphere and beautiful waterfront views that create a relaxed vibe. Guests can enjoy their meals at picnic tables by the water, making it an excellent spot for a summer outing. The menu includes classic dishes like hamburgers and lobster rolls, with some items being pricey. The lobster roll and chowder remain standout items, described as delicious, with the clam chowder featuring bacon and subtle spices. Fish and Chips has been praised as outstanding, possibly the best some customers have had, and the lobster grilled cheese is tasty. The crab roll meets expectations, and the lobster roll is noted for being fresh. A good selection of spirits and beer is available, and the views are great. There is limited parking, and while there are enough benches and seats with umbrellas for sun protection, off-site parking may be needed during busy times. Ice water is self-serve, and guests can grab their own take-away boxes if needed. Although the service can be slow at times, especially when the restaurant is packed, the location and food are generally well-received.
