“Elevate Cafe is the beacon of greatness in a sea of sub-par tourist/vacation food.I try to find the best spots to eat whenever I visit a town that is new to me. There are just too many food businesses where quality has taken a backseat, as the business has found it's market and the owner has emotionally clocked out. When entering Elevate Cafe, I noticed the owner was there working the grill and instructing the staff. The quality of the food clearly meant something to this person. That was my hint that this could be a good spot.I ordered the bacon egg and cheese on a rosemary bagel. I can only say that it was one of the best breakfast sandwiches I have ever eaten, and I was surprised to taste something so great in a tourist town. I ate there the following morning as well, because I was convinced that there couldn't be another place that was worth my time.I cannot wait to return to this place when I visit the area again.“
“This is my #1 favorite place for good food at Old Orchard. Fantastic delicious fresh food always given with a smile! They have a great menu and are super friendly. Don’t miss out, stop by Tami Lyn’s and order something, you won’t be disappointed!“
“We were gonna order from dunkins because that's our go to in RI but decided on something different since we were in Maine. Coffee tasted really fresh, sandwiches were good (had an egg sandwich on a bagel) and service was great. It was a cute lil café with retail as well.“
“had the best muffin ive ever had in my life. like considering moving to maine just to be near this muffin. everything else was amazing too, plus i came in with a group of 12 people and they were so incredibly sweet to us and still had our food and drinks done insanely fast. so slay.“
“Really cozy eatery with friendly staff. Came here for a quick breakfast and couldn't decide between the omelette or the French toast, so I got BOTH! Hahaha. The French toast was soft and moist on the inside (the soak it overnight so your not eating some dry piece of bread masquerading as French toast), the berries were fresh, and the syrup sweet without being overly sweet. Perfection. The omelette was delicious. The home fries were a mix of sweet potato and Idaho potatoes-yum! Overall, it was a great experience. Will be back for sure.“
“Walking up to the establishment there were people waiting outside. They were very efficient and seated us surprisingly quickly. Decor has a European feel very clean with large windows in and out. You can watch them baking pastries. The drinks were wonderful and beautiful, food was delicious, fresh and inspirational with dishes with combinations that you wouldn’t expect, but worked well together and were well-balanced. It shows they have a passion for their craft.“
“I tried the Pistachio Latte because it sounded delicious and I'd read positive reviews about it. It did not disappoint! The Maple Pumpkin Butter Toast was equally delicious. The staff and service wasn't lacking either. On a cool, dreary day, this spot was warm and satisfying. I'll definitely return.“
“What an absolute gem! Sam and Stina are incredible. Everything that we've tried on their lovely menu goes above and beyond our expectations and desires. Flavor combinations and profiles are impeccable. You can tell they truly care and love every aspect of the business. Best local grab and go cafe experience. Everyone desires a lovely Fika! Thank you for what you do.“
“My partner and I had a wonderful experience here. The process of building a terrarium was very easy with the guidance of the team there. We found it especially calming and enjoyable to be surrounded by plants as we created our tiny worlds. Local beverages were a great added touch. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for date spot, friend group activity, or solo activity! Good vibes all around.“
“I went the morning after power across the city went out because nothing in south Portland was open (not even the traffic lights worked!) It was extremely crowded and they were out of some of the food. There are probably about 18 stools and 2 tables and every one was taken. My drip coffee was tasty, but almost $4. They have a lot of charging ports and coat/purse hangers under the counter which rocks! Employees were friendly, it was clean, there's a little shop in the back but I didn't explore. Cute place“
“Breath of fresh air coffee shop and medical dispensary! Moving to Portland I didn’t dream I’d find a welcoming kind environment for my two loves. Each staff member was patient to the time to explain and made me feel seen. Some of the best flower in Portland! Along with the fact you can get a cbd iced tea or coffee. This spot is a diamond in the rough of wharf st“
“Maine Coffee Roast is located inside an older brick industrial building near train tracks which adds to the charm of the business. The founder/owner, Holly, is one of the nicest and most talented people you'll ever meet, and a passionate and dedicated roaster. Each roast is like a newborn child to her. My husband loves the coffee and will now only buy local roasts. We stopped by today, a national holiday, but the retail store was closed. Holly saw us poking around outside and graciously let us inside. Monday is the day she fulfills wholesale orders and she offered to brew a cup for my husband, but we didn't want to distract from her work. It turns out that Maine Coffee Roast supplies the coffee to both Two Fat Cats, my all time favorite pie maker, and Sur Lie, where we just had dinner. The coffee is outstanding and if you are on the way to Portland, stop by and visit Maine Coffee Roast in Biddeford . BTW, Biddeford has some really cool retail and dining concepts!“
“Was recommended this spot by a barber at (Blind Pig - which is also an amazing spot if you need a haircut). immediately rushed right over to try and make it before they closed. WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED AT ALL. omg these donuts are so so so so good. if you’re in Portland and have a sweet tooth, DEFINITELY CHECK THIS PLACE OUT! ????“
“Verbena is simply the best. The food is fresh & always yummy, the staff is exceptional, and the atmosphere is quaint and cozy! They offer plenty of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options as well. I always look forward to grabbing lunch at Verbena!Parking: Parking can definitely be tricky due to the many businesses along Ocean Street, but they do have a free parking lot behind the building along E Street as well!“
“Great little tea stop. I ducked in here waiting for the vetrans day parade. The menu was on a large-screen display and was very easy to read. There was almost no wait and the Matcha Latte was just what I needed. The service was courteous and very prompt. I didn't try any of their food but I watched some being made and it looked really good. Their bathroom was very clean. I will stop here again on my next trip to Portland. Give them a try!“
“Kind of place you feel good getting a smoothie. Not just for your physical health, though addons from probiotics to magnesium doesnt hurt. But getting one from a guy who loves his town and loves what he does. Your kids facing their kid in a scrimmage kinda thing. That feels good to the core.“
“My partner and I go to Cole road cafe weekly. The food is always great, service is kind and welcoming, prices are reasonable, and the specials menu is always interesting and delicious!Kid-friendliness: There are often other children there- they have booster seats and high chairs and while the acoustics aren’t great for children, they have coloring books and crayons and nicely decorated tables in the large room and a big window to spot birds from“
“100% the best team of people in the Portland service industry. Walking in, you get greeted by not only a cheerful woman working the register, but the entire kitchen as well. The aromas of peppers and onion grilled on the flattop enter your nostrils as you breathe in the friendly atmosphere. Their breakfast sandwiches are on par if not better than the Brooklyn bodegas I'm used to. This place is hidden and the perfect surprise to any unexpected foodie or just a simple food lover. If I'm not a regular in the next few months, I've either moved or disappeared:)“
“We were staying at the lovely regency hotel for an anniversary. This lovely brunch spot did not disappoint! Overlooking the street but with a quiet and elegant interior, it afforded the ability to people watch a little bit carry on a quiet conversation. I had the salmon plate, with smoked lox, bagel, capers and assortment of pickled items capers, pickles, and onions and a crisp sliced tomato. My husband had eggs over easy with corned beef hash, which he raved about. We had pots of earl grey tea, which remained nice and hot for the duration of our meal. Our server was excellent, offering recommendations and keeping our water glasses full (needed after the late night enjoying restaurant week in Portland) 5 stars. Will absolutely eat here when we stay here again!“
“A quaint cafe tucked neatly amongst neighborhood homes. This house turned business is cozy and homely, with a warm and inviting main room with lots of natural lighting for eating. The coffee is delicious and robust, with many bakery options and sandwiches for your breakfast or lunch. Will be back often to try all the delicious baked goods.“
“Cute little place! Didn't have any food but the coffee was good, alternative milk is over with the milk and cream which is nice. Only downside was that the tables were SO close to each other that sitting in the corner and trying to get up was impossible to do without someone else having to scooch their seat “
“Mainly Mozzarella Sandwich is excellent. Consistency with how much balsamic glaze and pesto is average. The Caesar salad dressing is thick and excellent. The salad lack leaves. I hate eating 80% stalk. I appreciate their environmental consciousness and commitment.“
“The veggie maple breakfast sandwich is my go-to. Always consistent and always delicious. The workers are always very friendly and attentive. The ambiance is nice and clean with a good amount of seating. I am a frequent flyer here and everything is great quality!“
“I'd been wanting to try their Portland branch while staying near Maine Medical but a blizzard stopped me. So today we went to the Saco location with friends and even this California food snob was impressed. Enchiladas were great, my Patacon(fried green plantain topped like a tostada) was delish and more than I could finish, guys liked their Lomo Saltidos. Only the tostones were not that good. Finally I can have good Central American Food in Maine!“
“Favorite Coffee place in Portland!!!! Support local, don't let this gem go without the attention it deserves! Low key not pumped for when it inevitably blows up for the tourists - but for now its mostly locals and its a DREAM! GREAT staff, GREAT food, GREAT coffee... what more could you want?!!? thankful to live just up the road so I can go often“
“This is a nice store. It has a nice food counter stocked with all kinds of quick grab foods: pizza, chips, hot dogs, hot and cold sandwiches & wraps, chicken nuggets, etc..as well as the bottled and canned beverages. Irving gasoline sold here. The store is modern and clean with excellent bathroom facilities. The store clerks are very nice and friendly. It is a convenience store so you will pay convenience store prices. ??“
“hands down our favorite breakfast spot, location is a little rough in tourist season (expect a long wait time but well worth it), the owner is on site and floats around mingling with the customers. Highly recommend the lobster scramble, was skeptical but its the perfect combination, thats my go to know.....“
