“Only giving this a location rating of 3 because it was 40 minutes from the main road.. we stayed here for 2 nights and to go explorer from this location was a drive just to see anything .. we went to bay harbor one day then booth bay the next ans the drives back were hard.. but super cute place, restaurant was delicious and staff was super friendly !“

Chris and Maggie made sure we had exactly what we were looking for out of the night - light bites, full bar and a beautiful water view. Really disappointed in our experience at the Monstweag this afternoon on Mother’s Day. We made a reservation for 3pm. We left at 4:38 and our appetizer hadn’t even been started yet. We spoke to the waitress and after learning our app hadn’t been started, we requested the bill and left. We were told it would still be an hour before we got our appetizer and we had three very young extremely hungry children. The server was apologetic but we were not offered a concession, discount or anything (we had ordered 6 drinks at this point) for the extraordinarily long wait and lack of communication about it. I don’t normally expect anything like this but I was frankly blown away at the lack of communication or accommodation considering the circumstances - on Mother’s Day nonetheless! We’ve been to Monstweag several times in the past and always had a good experience. This was out of character for this restaurant and really disappointing. We left deciding where to try to get a pizza to try to get some food in the kids, knowing it would be too late to get a reservation anywhere else on Mother’s Day. I debated whether to write a review but I do think after an experience like this management should receive honest constructive feedback. It was a disappointing experience to say the least.“

“The vibe here is welcoming, real, and genuine. The food and drinks are top notch along with the service. And it all begins with the owners, Zoli and Sarah, who are kind and honest as the day is long. We can’t speak highly enough of them, their crew and this establishment. We will come by every time we are in the area.“

“We've been here three times in the past couple of months. A very warm, friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Had their grilled reuben and hamburger (cooked med rare as asked) - both were great. Their breakfast burritos are delicious - eggs cooked just right (unlike so many places) with lots of freshly chopped veg. The coffee is delicious! We'll be back.“

“I went to Peppers Landing at 11:30 for lunch and ordered the Brunswick lobster roll. The roll was tough and dry and I asked the server when this was cooked. They could only tell me it's reheated on the grill. This was The worst lobster roll I have ever had. The restaurant manager was gracious enough to give me a whopping $5 discount for the food. This meal was 30.00 including fries and Cole slaw. I will never go back.“

“We are visiting from out of state and our hotel recommended this spot for pizza. We arrived around 4:30 and had our pick of tables and chose a street side window. We each ordered a speciality margarita and I requested a change to it and it was excellent, only wish I’d added a salt rim. I asked about happy hour specials and we got the fried pickles that were very plentiful and VERY good. We asked about doing a half and half pizza as we NEVER agree on what we want and after asking the “pizza chef” they agreed it would be okay, yay! A perfectly cooked pizza arrived quickly and honestly, we both enjoyed it SO much! Crispy crust, warm sauce, flavorful toppings and just the right “heat” for hubby. Our waitress Elli was great and I want to thank her for asking about our special requests. We come this way a couple times a year and will be back.“

“Absolutely loved the Essence IPA and the service from Brighid! Brighid was professional, friendly, and made a point to get to know her guests. As a fellow brewery bartender, I truly appreciated her humor and kindness. I came here on a whim during a free afternoon and will absolutely be back!“

“This is a new place that just opened last year and is seems very clean. They also have cooked our food fresh to order each time we have been there and is also fast. The chicken strips are big and juicy with a good spice with a variety of dipping sauces offered. The fried fish was our favorite even though they were both excellent. We also enjoyed waffle fries, honey biscuits and red beans and rice. The Boudin balls was an item we have never tried before but found them very tasty. The staff was also very friendly. It could be hard to miss because it is right next to a laundry mat and there is not a sign on the door, just by the road.“

“We had the best meal here. You can't beat the the value. We had the 2 meals for $25. We each got a fresh salad and the 6 oz steak with steamed broccoli and garlic potatoes. It was delicious! The service here was also excellent. The wait staff was very responsive and friendly. We'll be stopping by again soon.“
