“Can’t say enough fantastic things about this restaurant and the staff. This dinner was definitely the standout of all our meals from our trip to Maine. James personally came over to our table to go through our food allergies which was so appreciated. Really kind, lovely people and a great establishment. The care for the food and the customer really shines through. Highlights include the ribs, lobster risotto, lamb, mussels, and scallops. All the best and love from NYC!“

“Love the grab and go food options! Everything was delicious. We got the cobb salad, sorelle wrap and classic corn dog. They also have a great selection of sweet treats and snacks. I tried their cotton candy ice cream and it was yum! Can't wait to go back!“

“You must eat here! The atmosphere is lovely and laid back. The drinks (and mocktails) are wonderful. The food... the food is fantastic! You can't go wrong with the apps, but the Dilly Pickled Veg is the perfect little zippy snack while you wait for your dinner. The entire dinner menu is truly inspired. The bang bang fried chicken is always a personal go to... but I opted for the Crab BLT tonight and was blown away! My hubby had the Lamb Shwarma and practically licked his plate... the pita alone was a light, fluffy delight. If you order the fries, which you most certainly should, get the garlic aioli... you'll thank me later, it's also good with the lamb. ;)“

“We tried Royal Indian for the first time one month ago. We had the butter chicken, butter lobster, naan, and lamb korma. It was our first time eating Indian food from a restaurant and we were very pleased with our meals! The entrees were very filling and some of the best food we’ve eaten in bar harbor. The staff were all super friendly and quick. We’re now using this as our go to takeout order spot!“

“This place is a MUST! Over the week we have been in Bar Harbor we have ate at A LOT of places, Tap & Barrel is hands the best meal I’ve had here by a long shot. Marina was super knowledgeable and gave 15/10 service! You will not regret stopping here and grabbing a bite to eat or even just some drinks!“

“Acadia perk makes coffee drinks with plant milks (lots of choices). They have a small shop, so getting drinks to go is probably the best option. I also got the blueberry lavender latte with oat milk and my sister got a chai latte. Both were delicious and hit the spot after some disappointing coffee with breakfast this morning.“
“Recently discovered your Coal Porter and it is delicious. Only regret it that I didn't find it sooner. Thanks for brewing such great beer.“

“Day one. Lobster roll, clam chowder and a great cup of coffee. Everything freshly made and delicious. Came back everyday, for a week to try the morning sweets. The shop has very good quality retail items, presented without clutter. A lovely place where we will return to again. From Oregon.“

“Best place in Bar Harbor. Oysters are shucked beautifully. The service, no matter who has been there, is some of the most hospitable I have experienced in the last ten years. Well balanced beer and spirits selection. They have ready to eat sausages late night.“

“Wanted to try this place for lunch and it did not disappoint— I had the Maine lobster dinner and it was all delicious. My husband had the lobster roll with a salad. Our server, Kevin, was very friendly and attentive. We were hoping to sit inside since it was quite breezy outside, but didn’t know they don’t serve inside until 4 p.m. and we didn’t want to wait. If you can eat inside it is much better—still pretty views without the elements! You can sit by the firepit, but I believe the menu is limited. Parking around Bar Harbor is tight—we managed to get a spot in the lot near the Inn.“
“Best vaca find ever! Superb cocktails, tremendous food AND live music? Shut the front door. This place is great!“

“It's an interesting spot. Nice view of the harbor, good for people watching. It's a big place. We ate inside. I'll say, out waiter, I believe his name is Erman, very good waiter. Ok, so drinks we had a Tullamore Dew Old Fashioned. I think it was called an Irish Old Fashioned? Partner ordered a margarita. Both were pretty good. Appetizers, Poutine and Lobster salad. Both were really good. For entrees, we got the Shirt Rib and a Steak. Short Rib was pretty good. Steak was good but a tad over cooked. All in all good spot service and a filling meal.“

“I was hesitant about taking my young family here, but the loft did not disappoint! It's a new family favorite in Bar Harbor, and I have converted to loving seafood and the raw menu because of the loft! The ahi tuna nachos were a hit all around and a big recommendation to try! We can't wait to go back! The staff and food was amazing, and they even catered to my two children (1yr and 4yrs old).“

“Yesterday my daughter and I were excited to take my husband to Blaze as we had such a great experience previously. We had our lab/Pyranese mix Tucker Lee with us. Sam, the bartender greeted us and she proceeded to take our orders/make us drinks. We enjoyed our meal and enjoyed the music next door. Tucker Lee Sat at our feet watching his surroundings and waiting for some treats from us. He let out a little bark 3 times. They were quick minor barks looking to go make friends and he quickly settled back down. No one was near us and no one in the surrounding tables even flinched as we were in a dog friendly town/bar or so we thought. Sam decided she no longer wanted us there. With my drink still half full she told us she was going to get our bill together as she was uncomfortable and that we should not have a reactive dog in public. She then went on to tell us she works with animals. This same dog that apparently made her uncomfortable with a quick minor bark was greeted at other restaurants in Maine with open arms, a bowl of water and lots of petting. He was also greeted in Bar Harbor along the walkways and trails by many people wanting to pet and interact with him. The guy with the parrots had Tucker Lee interact with them. It is her loss and now Blaze's loss. I hope she enjoyed the generous tip I left to ensure the others were compensated as it will sadly be the last time we visit Blaze or recommend it. Great food and drinks is one thing but friendly and decent service is an absolute must. You cannot insult your customers especially their beloved pets. Also if you are going to be a dog friendly bar be sure your bartender greets all dogs with water, a treat maybe and an acknowledgement. Tucker Lee got none of those. Only a judgement on his size. Big dogs deserve love too!“

“Had dinner tonight and enjoyed ourselves. Our server, Patrick, was wonderful! He got quadruple sat and handled each table with grace and efficiency. Our meals were tasty and we loved the people watching while seated outside. Would definitely come back the next time we are in town.“

“Amazing! Super kind staff, fresh brewed coffee to order (may I add in a super cute cup), and donut had a little crunch texture exterior with soft, light and fluffy interior. Toppings were great (cookies and cream) without being overloaded and too sweet. I highly recommend!!! We will be back on our next visit to Bar Harbor!“

“Me, my fiancé and two friends went to Side Street last week for lunch before our elopement up in Acadia, and we had a fantastic experience! We brought one of our dogs and it was no problem at all to eat out on the deck! Everyone was so nice and welcoming, and the food and drinks were incredible! My fiancé came here before and recommended it, and this place did not disappoint! We also had trouble finding a place for a reception so we resorted to looking into local restaurants to cater, and when we reached out, Tiffany was very kind and responsive to redirect me to Jon Dumaine, who is Side Street’s Culinary Director. Jon was AWESOME and you can tell how good he is at his job when he lays everything out to you! From the first email, to our phone call, and picking it up, we had a phenomenal experience, and highly recommend Side Street Cafe’s catering to everyone! Everyone absolutely loved the food, especially the chicken picatta, mac and cheese, polenta and Mediterranean dips!! We cannot wait to come back again and visit!!!“

“Great location within the strip of shops. There is plenty of outdoor seating. We went around 3 pm, so after lunch rush. We waited for around 5 minutes (they had to clean a table). Our server was nice. He took our drink order, and it came out in just a few minutes. We ordered our food, and it came out within 10 minutes. The shrimp po'boy was good. The sauce had flavor but just a little much on the sandwich (it was hard to pick up and put down, got soggy). The chicken salad sandwich was pretty good and light. The lobster roll was a good portion size and didn't have too much mayo. The potato chips had light salt, which tasted good with the sandwiches. The lobster salad was basically a bunless lobster roll. The portion was large and came with a vinaigrette dressing. I ordered a blueberry frizz. It was very sour and didn't taste much like blueberry. Handicapped accessibility would be limited; no ramp (that I saw) to eat inside, you could eat outside 1st floor, which is under cover. The bathroom is tricky, getting in and out with 2 doors that open the same way.
Parking: Street parking that can be difficult to find a spot.
Wheelchair accessibility: Limited to outside, under cover.“

“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Maine Must-Try! The lobster roll was perfection — sweet, tender chunks of fresh-caught lobster piled high on a buttery, lightly toasted bun. The seasoning was simple and spot-on, letting the natural flavor of the lobster shine through, while just enough creamy dressing tied it all together without overpowering. The lobster nachos were an unexpected delight — warm, crisp tortilla chips loaded with generous pieces of lobster, melted cheese, and a drizzle of tangy sauce that balanced richness with a hint of brightness. Every bite had that perfect mix of crunch, creaminess, and fresh-from-the-sea flavor. Whether you’re a Maine local or just visiting, these dishes are the kind of food memories you’ll be talking about long after you’ve left.“
