“We brought our soccer team over for a team kick-off party and couldn't have picked a better spot. The staff was so friendly and excited to see us, the food/drinks were delicious, and all our families said it was the perfect spot to gather. We'll definitely be back!“
“Brought some of your Maine State Lager home with me to Villa Rica Georgia. What a fantastic beer!!!“
“Some of the best beer in Southern Maine, always a ton on tap“
“The best in Portland. Great beer and wonderful employees. Cannot wait until they can distribute to Minnesota!!“
“Fantastic beer. The owner and her Husband are wonderful to be around. I’ll definitely be back.“
“delicious food, three excellent beers on tap. loved the vibe from the moment I walked in.“
“Love it! My husband is obsessed now 🙂“
“Nice place to have a beer with friends.“
“Amazing beer. Friendly Staff. Cozy atmosphere. Good people. Go there!“
“Superb place, most friendly staff ever and our go-to place when we visit Maine! 👌🏻“
“Very cool place to grab some great beers! Definitely stop in if you get the chance. We loved the sours on tap (Frusch!)“
“I am the owner and operator of Hager Photography and I had the immense pleasure of photographing a few events at Rising Tide this year. A wedding reception and a private rehearsal dinner. This was such a perfect venue! Clean, fun, laid-back, and I can't stress this enough - TONS OF PARKING. Great location, close to the heart of downtown Portland. You would be very wise to consider Rising Tide for your event. I can't wait to go back!“
“Had an absolute blast hosting our Winter Film Challenge kickoff party here. Awesome communication, staff and vibe. Cant wait to come back!“
“Update 2026: They've changed it up over the years and expanded quite a bit. Went here during a snow storm since it was close to our hotel and one of the only places open. We had a great time and so did our kids (3 & 1). Ordered a couple pizzas/beers and they had the football game on. It was mostly empty (snow) and our kids loved playing cornhole and ring toss in the back.
Original Review (2019): Gift shop is 5-stars. So is the beer. Get there early to beat the line and grab a table. Otherwise, you'll be standing with your drink for a while. If able to get a table - its a great place to hang out. They have CBD seltzer and non-alcoholic drinks as well.“
“Best brewery I have been to in Maine don’t pass up going there. Staff is amazing“
“What can you say?? It's New England's first craft brewery, opened a few months before that MA patriot one. :D They keep it simple with a quaint tasting room, plenty of seating outside in great weather, very comfortable and still fantastic brews!! Definitely recommend!“
“We stopped here after my husband a job in Scarborough, and wow… what an incredible surprise. The whole place has that true Maine vibe — cozy, welcoming, and super friendly. Our server Eric was awesome from start to finish. My husband ordered the pork schnitzel and absolutely loved it. I had the butternut squash linguine with prosciutto, roasted squash, arugula, and their homemade crostini bread… incredible. I even saved half so I could enjoy it again another day. Hubby tried two of their 5oz beers (Space Ghost and Santa’s Reinbeer) and enjoyed both. But the show-stealer? The apple crisp cheesecake. 🍎 Hubby took one bite and said, “This is so good it should be outlawed.” And honestly, he wasn’t wrong. It was ridiculous in the best way. We left talking about how we’re glad we live two hours away, because we’d be here every day if we didn’t. Highly recommend checking this place out if you’re in the area. Amazing food, great vibe, great service.“
“ACCESSIBILITY AUDIT:
Shipyard is accessible to people with mobility (dis)abilities, though it isn't marked well until you get outside.
If you try to enter the taproom from the main entrance, there are a flight of stairs down, so you may think it's inaccessible. However, if you go through the gift shop, take a left upon entering, you can go down a ramp to the taproom.
I hope management responds to this review by putting up signs with arrows at the taproom entrance and gift shop entrances and maybe an arrow on the gift shop floor to make it clearer that wheelchair users can access the space.
Thank you for keeping the door propped open so that it was more accessible to enter. Please also move the sidewalk gift shop sign towards the far door rather than in the middle and right in front of the entryway. Where it was positioned centrally, it was too difficult to get inside with a wheelchair or stroller and that's an easy thing to train staff.
The taproom has a lowered bar section too. 👏🏽
There is one section of bathrooms that are not accessible but there is a small sign (shown) that directs you to where the accessible restrooms are.
For more accessibility reviews, consider downloading the RollMobility app.
You gotta try the blueberry ale with a blueberry rim!“

“Awesome place! We went for the first time yesterday, and we were not disappointed with the food and drinks! The 🦞 roll was one of the best that we’ve had. We ordered a cheese plate and oysters as well, and they were both delicious. Hidden gem tucked away in the Old Port! We will definitely be back again.“

“Spent a relaxing late morning and afternoon visiting Mike and Leigh at their home, when we visited a local Micro Brewery & Tasting Room at 616 Main Street, Gorham, Main.
Mike ordered the "3 Little Pigs Pizza made with House Tomato Sauce, Cheese Blend, Nitrate Free Pepperoni, Italian Sausage and Bacon.
Leigh's choice was the Sebago Margherita Pizza made with EVOO, Cheese Blend, Oven Roasted Tomatoes,, Fresh Basil and Fresh Mozzarella..
My choice was the Spicy Muthah Clukah Pizza made with Garlic Cream, Banana Peppers, Fried Chicken, Jalapenos, Cheese Blend and Hot Honey Drizzle...
Kit decided to try the "Soup of the Day" which was a Creamy Potato Cheese Burger Bowl of soup.
All of the pies were baked in a very large stainless steel domed wood burning pizza oven that provided us with well baked hot pizza with good char to the undercarriage of the crust and the perfect crispness and soft fluffy outer crust ring with good texture and taste.
The fresh ingredients, taste and presentation would compete well with any New Jersey or New York Pizza I have eaten...
To balance the whole experience were the cold and great tastes from the Pints that we had with our pizzas.
My 2 pints were Runabout Red and Slick Nick
Mike enjoyed Frye's Leap IPA x 2
and Leigh had 2 Pints of STREETS OF ROME..
Everything was very delicious and filling.
None of us could eat another bite but I did take back to the Hotel a piece of the Cranberry Walnut Bread Pudding to rewarm in the microwave...
The dessert was very delicious after rewarming for 30 seconds, but the portion was small, maybe 3" x 3" x 1.5" for $10.00
Most other Bread Pudding are 4 or 5 inches for the width with a thickness of 3 to 4 inches“

“Great taproom and great tap selection! I love the space because there are two outdoor seating areas, plus several nooks all over the building. Lots of places to either have a close convo or gather with a group. Staff is super friendly and food truck options are good!“
