“Met the owner and some of her staff while we were painting her storefront. Kitchen was immaculate. Very nice decor. Comfortable seating, casual atmosphere with a bar. We were a party of 6 on a Friday night. Reservations recommended. We had multiple apps. All were excellent. Try the Veal parm. Leave room for desert.“

“My Fiance and I came here for my birthday dinner and we were very impressed. We started off with the Meatballs and the Sourdough bread didnt lack in flavor and got us more excited for our entrees. Our server Rich was very knowledgeable about the menu and wines. We ordered the gnocchi and bolognese both were amazing the flavor combinations meshed and had our taste buds bouncing. We ordered the panna cotta, tiramisu, and another dessert with waffle cones and espresso and all 3 were spectacular!“

“We ate at Solo Italiano recently and had a nice dining experience. Overall, our food was outstanding, though our coffees and desserts were not up to the same standard as our other courses. The ambiance was very nice. In particular, the restaurant was very quiet, though we were there on the early side. The biggest negative was our waitperson who I felt could have been much more welcoming. Also, he/she forgot one of the courses that we had ordered. Nevertheless, we will return to Solo Italiano for the food which was really excellent.“

“We really love coming here for a date night, the vibe is great, well decorated and classy. Prices are a little expensive, but we haven’t tried anything we haven’t liked yet. The food here is really top notch, flavor and textures perfect, and steak is always cooked correctly. The servers we have had have been wonderful and attentive, and the front desk staff helped me out with a secret birthday request to surprise my fiancee. I’ll come back again and again.Parking: Parking is shared with other businesses, on a busy weekend night it’s full.“

“Very accommodating and friendly with delicious food. Floating aspect made it even more fun. We forgot to make a reservation, but lucked out and were seated right away. Ito, the server, was wonderful and answered all our questions. Our meals were all tasty. I had the Lobster Mac and Cheese and it was rich and creamy. The gentle swaying of the restaurant was an added bonus.“

“Excellent! We had the house salad … like no house salad I’ve ever had! Lots of goodies, super tasty and the large was plenty for two! My hubby had rigatoni carbonara. I had the crab raviolini. We also ordered bread service ($7 was a bit high).Rigatoni carbonara was very tasty but extremely rich. He wished it would have been cut with an acid for balance. My ravolini was perfect in flavor and size.We sat at the bar (not our fave but we didn’t have a reso). Stools were NOT comfortable. Bar/waitress (Lora/Lori I’m pretty sure that’s her name) was friendly and solicitous to us.It was great to be in a neighborhood (and not in the Old Port). “First time in beautiful Portland Maine, the five of us coming from Indiana were looking for some new local eats. Blocks away from where we’re staying was Anthony’s Italian Kitchen. Walked into a warming Italian atmosphere and greeted instantly by the owners smile and welcoming ambience. He handed us menus with content and grace. I proceeded to ask what he recommended. In short words he said Spaghetti & Meatballs, Eggplant Parmesan, or the Lasagna mentioning everything was made in house/homemade, I was thrilled for authentic cuisine! I ordered the Spaghetti & Meatballs per his recommendation, as he told me multiple times how much I will LOVE it. Waiting on my food I admired the radiance of the restaurant and getting joyous for a meal that I longed for all day. The moment came and I ate. He was absolutely right! One of the best Spaghetti & Meatballs dishes I’ve ever eaten/tasted. It was so amazing, two others in my party also got Spaghetti & Meatballs that they thoroughly expressed how delicious our first meal was in Maine. Thank you for making our first meal one to remember and being so kind and welcoming. A++++! I would come back for more deliciousness and chats.“

“Pine Point Grill was a unique experience. The service alone made it worth the trip. Our server, Johny, was a delight and the highlight of the evening. He was bubbly, energetic and clearly loves working with people. During our time dining we witnessed a number of patrons talking to him and he knew them by name. Another table mentioned that they were dining there specially on the recommendation to go there because of him and I can honestly see why.The atmosphere was nice and there was a nice patio but it didn't have much to look at in terms of scenery. PPG seems to be in the middle of nowhere even though it's just a couple miles off route 1 in Scarborough, Maine.As for the food, I don't want to be overly critical as we visited during restaurant week and tried the fixed menu. It wasn't bad (and the desserts were wonderful) but overall nothing special for the price point. The risotto was bland without the gravy from the pork tenderloin but the portions were ample. Overall though it was a dining experience to remember due to Johnny and his amazing service.“

“What can I say?....This place is awesome. The pizza is perfect. Soft, chewy crust with little charred bubbles. The toppings are not your run of the mill Pepperoni and sausage etc. They have some interesting combinations that are very interesting and delicious. I highly recommend quanto basta.“

“Excellent fries, good burgers!We had the cheeseburger combo (2 cheeseburgers with fries) and the Hilltop burger.The fries were world class. Top fried, crunchy, super seasoned!The taste of the Hilltop reminds me a lot of a McDonalds BigMac. I think he had around 180-200g of meat. Also very good.The cheeseburgers were also good, but they lacked sauce. I would recommend pickles, mustard and ketchup.“

“My girlfriend and I made a trip to Portland this weekend for my 35th birthday. This was our first time here.Our server Shawn hopefully I spelt his name right, was amazing. He was Very attentive as well as knowledgeable on the drink and dinner menu.The focaccia bread was a great starter as I had saw other reviews said to try it out.My girlfriend got the swordfish with risotto which was cooked perfectly which is hard to do. I got the hanger steak medium rare and that was cooked perfectly as well.I don’t drink so I got an athletic brew and my girlfriend got a cosmo and she said it was delicious.We got the cannoli at the end for dessert and it was so yummy! “First time back to roma in about 15 years. Is it possible that this place got better. Food was fantastic. We had halibut, duck, chicken parm and rigatoni. Top notch. Dessert is a must have with the cannolis. Service was fantastic and did not let us down. Can't beat the atmosphere.“

“I'm updating this as I've been to Amatos manyl times since I posted the first review. I've upped the stars to 3 from 4 because I've had several things that I hadn't had there before and they were all very enjoyable. One thing I definitely appreciate is that with very little exception, the food is consistant from one Amatos to the next. It's nice to know that when I'm on the road and it's too late to make something for supper, I can find an Amatos and get something and know that, if it's not where I usually get it, it will be just as good as where I bought it the first time. Thank you, Amatos.It's fast Italian food on the fly. It's definitely a step (or even two) over McD's, BK's, Wendys, etc. Italians plus other hot & cold sandwhiches, salads plus a nice selection of Italian dinners makes it a good choice for singles or familes or any group in-between.“

“Oh my God is this place delicious. Best Sicilian slice I ever had. The dough is totally unique and amazing. And the sauce on the cheese and pepperoni is sweet and tangy. Portland is lucky to have this place. Heard it was great but really surpassed my expectations. And I'll always remember going because it was my son's 1st birthday that day and this was a late lunch after celebrating for a day already.Parking: Look it's downtown Portland. The more familiar you are with it the easier. You can park in a lot a few blocks away or if you get lucky you can grab a spot on paid parking in front. Be careful though they ticket often, so pay.Kid-friendliness: We had our one-year old who was getting a little tired and we didn't get any dirty looks and they provided a high-chair. We went early with only two other couples there.“

“Eight of us had dinner at Maria’s recently to celebrate my husband’s 80th birthday. We have eaten here numerous times starting when they were located in Portland. The food has always been delicious (no matter what we have ordered) and the portions are extremely generous. We love the atmosphere which is relaxing, warm and so inviting. We have never felt rushed. The young girl who waited on us the evening of my husband’s birthday celebration was absolutely the best. I wish I remembered her name. I am sure if she reads this post she will know who we are talking about. She never missed a beat even with the craziness of our group. This is one of our favorite restaurants in Portland and we are so grateful that even with the move to a new location after so many years on Cumberland Avenue they continue to be wonderful hosts and still serve the best Italian food. A great big warm thank you to the owner and all employees. We appreciate all of your hard work and dedication to making sure everyone has a positive dining experience. I would love to post a picture of all of us enjoying a wonderful evening at Maria’s but don’t see where I can do that here. I just wish they had more holiday decorations.Parking: There are more seats inside the Amatos restaurant than there are parking spots in the parking lot directly behind the Amatos and next to the Laundry center. Carpool, save gas and space for others.Wheelchair accessibility: Go the entrance of the Amatos/Laundry Center parking lot and walk towards the nearest corner of the nearby intersection. On your way to the intersection you will pass an Amatos door, that's the wheelchair accessible entrance.“

“Returning to Maine after many years away and wanted to go back to Willows since we always enjoyed their pizza. Pizza still very good. Not the cozy atmosphere we remember cause theyve expanded! But still a great local pizza place with crispy, flavorful crust and good selection of toppings. Good local beer selection as well. Service was a bit slow, but they were quite busy just before Christmas.“

It was quiet and they even cleaned up around us and left us to chit chat well beyond closing and even then they were super nice about prompting us to leave!I will say though that I am extremely unsatisfied with the "Cookie-Whoopies" as the filling is more of a gritty sugar frosting as opposed to a soft & smooth cream filling. “I had the usual, but it didn't taste the same. It tasted like fake chicken or chicken that was not fully grilled. The fettuccine was a little thicker and narrower. I ordered diet coke, but when I asked for a refill, I got regular, and it seemed so I barely drank any more.“
