8 Best American Restaurants near Ishpeming

“I have loved pasties for a long time and started a quest years ago to find the best pasty. I would sometimes buy several from a region, so I could taste them fresh and hot, side-by-side. There are some great Pasties in Michigan (and some that are terrible), but Lowry's in Ishpeming edged out the rest.“

“I absolutely love the downtown, Old City vibe this place had.

The food was also very good, though a bit chintzy on the ingredients and shockingly expensive. My omelette had so little cheese I had to dig for it and my husband ordered a burger that didn't come with any sides. So he ordered fries without even considering that they would be $7. That is double the market price in my area. Not sure if that's common because this was the only place we ate out in the upper peninsula. But it did seem shockingly costly for frozen fries. The omelette only came with toast. However, everything we did order was amazing. I was just shocked at the bill.

“We’ve been to Midtown a few times for their desserts but never tried any of their actual food until earlier this week. So glad we did! We had the All-American Turkey & Ham on sourdough and the mac and cheese soup, 10/10! It was hands down the best lunch I’ve had in a long time. I’m still raving about that soup, it was so rich and comforting! I’ll definitely be watching their menu closely, and you can bet I’ll be a regular when I see that soup on the menu! So delicious!“

“So I've been here plenty of times and I'm surprised that I haven't written a review yet ! Well like I mentioned I've been here plenty of times and always had an great experience !! Well tonight was no different ( we sat in the bar side) Erin the bartender was also our waitress and she provided excellent service!! Friendly, I was asking questions about the family feud game competition coming up and other things, answered our questions !!! So we definitely will be back !!!

The awesome manager still got my order going 10 minutes before closing, opened my Jaritos pop and gave me a little bag of chips because she recognized my state of hunger! So friendly and helpful!
