“Three friends and I were visiting from southern Wisconsin... and we wanted to go bowling. We were staying in Iron Mountain. We originally had gone to the bowling alley there, however while waiting at the bar for a lane, the man running it was so offputting and rude we didn't want to stay. We asked him about Uptown and he said they were his #1 competition. So we said thanks, cancel our lane, we're heading over there. So glad we did. It's definitely a little run down, you may or may not get shoes that fit, or even a ball that fits, but the atmosphere and the employees were amazing. Food was good... although they do refer to beer dip as beer cheese ? Not good on the soft pretzels, but awesome on the burger!I'd definitely go back.“
“OMG! Hello Diamond in the rough. Who would of thought such a gem existed! I'm in love! Best Sunday brunch buffet I've ever had! I can't recommend this enough times!!! Can't wait to come again.Wheelchair accessibility: There is wheel chair access“
“Service was excellent. I had the Combination Platter, filled with their Italian samples. They were all well-prepared with a flavorful Marinara sauce. Others in our party had the 6oz tenderloin and said it was delicious and prepared to their liking. We’ll be back.“
“I stumbled upon this place walking through town. My grandparents grew up in Iron Mountain. My great grandfather, John Hollander, immigrated from Liverpool, England and was a miner. My grandmother taught me to make pasties like she did for her dad. Jean Kay's pasties are out of this world. Flakey crusts, tasty ingredients inside, and made with Iron Mountain pride and love. I ate the breakfast bacon and egg pasty and bought chicken and broccoli. I bought the partially cooked/frozen because this place sells out quickly. I traveled to Chicago with the pasties two weeks later and they were as good as made that day. One pastie fed two of us. I guess it is all about your appetite. The pasties can be purchased cooked or partially frozen. Both are equally great!! If you are driving near Iron Mountain, you must stop and purchase the pasties! Have fun deciding which to purchase.“
“Parking is good. Adequate dining area and bar. We were seated promptly and our waitress, Lana, was friendly, outgoing and attentive. We ordered cheese burgers and fries, onion rings and mozzarella sticks. The onion rings are battered and not breaded which is my preference. They were cooked perfectly, not greasy and golden. The mozzarella sticks were cooked well meaning not overcooked where the cheese is coming out. Clean oil. The burger was juicy, not greasy, on a perfectly toasted kaiser roll. The French fries were cooked perfectly. I'd recommend for casual dining.“
“This is my favorite restaurant in iron mountain great place me and my friend went out here for lunch together food hot and fresh server she was a sweet lady kind friendly and on top of everything we needed the tip i left her she definitely deserved “
“Cozy atmosphere and great food. French Onion soup was a great choice. Our waiter was well informed about the menu and was able to provide options to help respect our dietary needs. I would have no problem recommending this restaurant. Many good sandwich choices on the menu. We have been there many times, will continue to eat there on a regular basis.“
“After driving by far too many times to count on my way up north, I finally had a chance to stop in! Spending the weekend in the area for girls' weekends, it was the perfect stop to refuel on a day of hiking in the area.Excellent food and service! Our waitress was excellent and the coffee cups stayed full!“
“It was our first time there. We asked what they recommend and it was their hot beef sandwich, which it turns out they're known for. We added the suggested toppings of cheese and onion, then added the sweet horseradish sauce and BOOM!, my tastebuds were dancing! I heard that the next thing to have is their tacos on Tuesdays. I'm scheduling it now.“
“We visit every time we're in the area. Some of the best fish you'll ever have the pleasure of eating and the service is out of this world. Drinks are great too. I keep meaning to try more than just the fish but it's hard when it's this good. Hoping to visit again this summer!“
“We went in tonite at 8:54 pm. We were starving..Bethy made sure we had “beers for our men, and water for our horses” before we left, despite the fact that she and the lady that was there cooking had to hang with us for another 1/2 hour, MINIMUM, after the kitchen should have been closed… Not only was the kind service unforgettable, the food was GREAT!! To Bethy and her husband, Happy Trails, Happy Anniversary, and THANKS!!“
“So many places in the UP claim that their pasties are the best, but we are here to say that there are none better than what we had at The Pasty Oven. We had the original with rutabaga, but there were also other varieties to pick from. It was drive-thru only, no dining in the restaurant itself.“
“The cheesy breadsticks were the perfect appetizer here. Both burgers were cooked to perfection! The loaded Mac n' cheese was super cheesy but not quite what I expected. It seemed a bit bland for having bacon and chicken in it. When I reheated it at home with some extra garlic and other spices it was stellar. Rachel was an amazing server and kept the drinks full, brought us anything we needed, and had a great personality.“
“We had a BLT, cheese curds, grilled cheese sandwich, and a side salad. All were good. Waitress was very friendly and efficient with our order and checking back in with us. It was busy, but service was organized, with seating, and quick table clean ups to keep up with the people coming and going. It is nice to see a place that has enough staff to keep up with their menu demands, etc. The prices seem ok. The next time we go we may try their pizza.“
“Always get one of the burgers on the menu when passing thru. Haven't left they're yet and not been full after enjoying it. Costs are comparable places. Service has always been good.Parking: About 15-20 spotsWheelchair accessibility: Ramp available if needed“
