“Went here for the first time with my daughter, who is a coffee aficionado. We both loved the decor of the place. It’s quite beautiful and the menu offers so much variety that I wasn’t familiar with, I know I’ll be back. Our coffees were unique, and the pastries were tasty. I’ve seen others complain about the price but we paid about $20 for two coffees two pastries and that includes a tip. I don’t think that’s unreasonable in today’s world and it’s so much better than chain coffee shops.“

“I’ve been here a couple of times and I love the atmosphere and pastries, but as a fellow barista, today the customer service was poor..I politely asked if I could have my drink hot instead because it was served iced (16 oz). No fault there, I did not mention it and the young lady at the register did not ask either. But when I got my hot drink from the barista, it was a small cup.. she walked over, sat it on my table and didn’t say anything. I understand they had to redial espresso and she may have been backed up a drink or two.. but giving me a small cup felt like a statement when the iced drinks are large.. I didn’t feel like dealing with another change so I let it be. It just left a poor taste in my mouth because I was very nice and completely fine with waiting for my coffee and was not rude about asking for my drink to be hot. If anyone’s gonna be upset with anyone, reiterate to your coworker to make sure they know if the customer wants an iced or hot drink, but don’t have an attitude with me and make me feel like I inconvenienced you.. I’m paying for a drink, you are literally getting paid to do your role and responsibilities.“

What was even better was that this Black-owned shop delivered in good service and outstanding quality and great varieties of coffee and teas! I had the delicious salted caramel latte!! And the best part was LITERALLY THE BEST BREAKFAST SANDWICH I have ever had at a coffee shop!! I had the turkey and cheese deluxe sandwich with their house sauce and Swiss cheese! “Awafi is the best cafe in the area. I think their coffee is much better than other 2 cafes near by, especially their lattes, the pistachio one is my sisters and I’s favorite. Their milkshakes are always thick and just the right amount of sweet. The rest of the menu is well priced too, especially the desserts like the milk cakes. “If you are a Kpop fan and love with the Korean culture then this is the place for you! It’s one of the few places in Michigan where we Kpop fans can gather and connect with each other! I was just there and the cafe allowed Kpop fans of ASTRO to do a vigil memorial for the death of Moonbin! I wanted to do something to say my goodbyes to the artist and I seriously appreciated that they provided that space for people to do that and other Kpop events!
