“I had gone to grab food from here today for the first time and was super impressed! My siblings and I grew up eating Mexican food so I have grown picky on which food I like, depending on how it is cooked. I love Mexican food! It’s one of those foods that has to be cooked with heart and soul, I can easily say this food was! I had gotten the birria taco dinner and three pork tamales à la carte. Both were super good. Rice and beans were good too. I think the only thing I would add would be a spicy option on your pork tamales😍🤤 Either way it was super good. I will be back!“

“I had 5 broken teeth and 2 large abscesses and couldn't eat much of anything but was starving. I was looking for something soft to gum. Thinking tamales or beans and cheese. Of the options the flour tortilla beef birria seemed to be the best fit. I ordered those, a side of beans and, a side of consomme. Was amazing. Just on the edge of what I can tolerate heat wise (I am a wimp). Great taste. I used the consomme to make birria ramen for a later meal. (Just beef ramen, 2 sticks string cheese, and the consomme). It was also great, very satisfying.“

I had the California burrito and asked to add cilantro and had no issues, in fact the person taking the order loaded me up with additional toppings and sauces that the burrito was filling enough for 2 meals. Great drinks—I tried the Hibiscus Margarita, my hubby had the classic. Very tasty! The food had great authentic flavor and was very reasonably priced for Birmingham. I had the shrimp taco and didn’t love how thick the soft shell was, but the flavor was delicious and the sauce with the shrimp was yummy. My hubby and daughter loved their dishes. He got a steak special and she got the Biria dish.
The coconut cake and churro cheese cake dessert were fabulous and worth the calories!
Service was great, friendly and helpful!

“Beautiful interior and exterior. The patio out front allows for outside drinks. The interior is clean! The staff was amazing during my first visit. Fun and welcoming to conversation. I got the maple wings and street corn (elote). I could eat that corn all day. So good!! Decent selection of mexican beers and some American alternatives. My second drink was a cocktail. It tasted as good as I expected :)

I accidentally double tipped. They add 20% gratuity to your bill. THEY HIGHLIGHT IT ON THE RECEIPT. I DID NOT SEE IT. I wasn't looking. I just looked at the total and made a second 20% tip. I AM NOT UPSET. I just feel stupid lol.

Parking: The parking lot across the side street is for the grocery store only but I'm not sure how strict it is. I went on a Saturday around 4-5. Livernois was packed for parking. I found a spot of the side street a few businesses away.“

“First time trying it and let me say I regret not trying it sooner. I was a bit hesitant but Chris was extremely helpful and made so many great recommendations. I had the quesadillas (chicken), chips and queso. The dessert was over the top. When I say I am not typically a big eater I tried some of everything. The best part the servings were ample enough I have left overs for a day or two. In addition to Chris the staff was welcoming and friendly. I will be back. “Never having had Qdoba before, this was an amazing experience, it was very much like fine dining. Greeted, and given a personalized tour of how the menu works and the pricing. The staff is so polite and friendly. We even had fun conversation as the food was being made. The food is great quality as well.
