“This restaurant is in a location which has been a gathering spot in Buchanan since 1947. Much of the original décor has been maintained but some parts of the interior have been modernized to satisfy current foods. The owners and staff are pleasant, aim to please and work hard. It is worth a stop for the ice cream at the soda fountain, if nothing else.”

“So… I walked into Bucktown Nutrition this morning for what I thought would be a quick protein shake run. As soon as I stepped in, the lights flickered and the exact smell of rain on asphalt after a 1997 summer storm hit me in the face. The guy behind the counter (I think his name tag said “Lee,” but the “L” was backwards??) handed me a menu printed entirely in Wingdings font and just whispered, “choose carefully.” I asked for a strawberry-banana smoothie, but he slid me this glowing, teal drink in a mason jar shaped like a jellyfish. He said it was “limited edition” and made from “cloud extract.” I took a sip and instantly remembered the birthdays of every kid in my second-grade class. Then — and I swear I’m not making this up — a raccoon in a tiny Bucktown Nutrition apron waddled out from the back holding a mini clipboard, stared me dead in the eyes, and wrote down something before leaving through the employees only door. I paid with a $10 bill, and Lee handed me a receipt for three and a half bushels of corn. I walked out feeling slightly taller. It’s been four hours, and my left shoe keeps squeaking the Jeopardy! theme song. 10/10 would recommend.”

“Cheap beer, friendly locals, and better than average bathroom. Had a fantastic New Year’s Eve there with friends and our kids!! Met an 89 year old lady there who grew up across the street from the bar and she told us all about the history. Apparently it used to be a gas station, a grocery store, and they used to have dances there. Lots of great history. We’d give it 6 stars if we could 😎”

“An excellent place for dine dining. Great selections of appetizers. The wines are fantastic. The desserts are amazing. You have a view of the vineyard through the dining room windows. Ample parking for everyone. Every dish that was served to our party was well presented and delicious. We enjoyed the wines from the vineyard and had a good time toasting our friendships. A truly amazing experience for wine lovers in the area”

“Super fast service. Placed a large order in the drive thru and they had it ready in a flash! Burritos were perfectly made to my order and they even remembered the sauces! Can't give the staff at this location enough praise! I live in Niles and will be frequenting this Buchanan location from now on when I want taco bell. So worth the extra drive time for fast and excellent service! 5/5 all day”

“Mcdonalds food ia bad for you but dont go to mcdonalds if you are expecting fresh food. i drive alot for my job so i stop many plances and i gotta say whoever was running drive through was amazing. the lady who took my money waa very kind and polite. the lady who gave me my food at the 2nd window was the nicest lady iver ever met at a drive though window. good on youguys!”
