“Ordered for the first time yesterday and there was a small issue with my order (just a miscommunication!). Today the restaurant went above and beyond to resolve the issue. The food is also excellent, everything is well seasoned, juicy, tender, and has a great smoke bark, and there are a lot of options for sauce. Everything I had reminded me of summer barbecues. I decided to try the brisket I got as a mistake yesterday because it was there and I was hungry, and even though it’s not one of my favorite things to eat it was great. Thank you guys, I’ll be back!“

“The bark crust on the brisket was very flavorful and good. The brisket is nice and fatty to the point where the juices seeped out into the plastic bag. The pulled pork paired with the spicy barbecue sauce was good (I just mixed the two and put it into a bread roll that I had) the corn bread is very soft and not too sweet. Mac and cheese was cheesy. Not the ooey gooey sauce cheesy but still cheesy. The coleslaw was decent. The plate is packed, literally had enough for two meals. I tried to finish it in one sitting but I got so full.“

“City Barbeque was pretty good! Great service, nice food. Would have loved a little bit more seasoning/juiciness on the meat. The sauces were good, and the sides were flavorful! Hush puppies were soooo crispy- probably my favorite part of the meal. Would recommend City Barbeque to anyone looking for some reasonably priced quick BBQ in Grand Rapids!“

“decent price, good food, service was nice, but it's true that the serving sizes per order are a little small-- ie. we ordered short rib, most places serve 2-3 pieces per order, and they gave us one piece. we also ordered 2 portions of lamb after having some, but we got the same amount(not enough to share a ton!). they were really nice and all and it was yummy, serving size is obviously not a big problem at an all you can eat place but if you do go, order a decent amount(like 4-5 plates to start) and go from there. Don't get the finger rib(metallic taste). Also nice appetizer bar!

“When I say this place is nostalgic for me! It has touch points to my entire childhood, so when I heard it re-opened, I knew this had to be my first stop off the plane when I visited GR! I met the owner and we talked for what felt like an hour, she's so personable, warm and welcoming. She's a gem to the community!

The food was delicious, wings hit like they used to, fries were good. Both with the perfect blend of seasoning!

“Had such a great dinner. A delicious filet with complimentary sides that would have been enough as a meal. Topped off with the chocolate stampede. A stampede for sure. We shared and filled us up to the brim.

I lost my wallet, they kept it safe for me. Next morning 11 am I collected it safe and sound. With great gratitude to the careful staff. Thanks a lot“
