“The real story is the history. I'm told the doughnut entity has been around since 1896 when it was Clare City Bakery. In 2009, nine Clare police officers purchased the struggling business and today they boast over a half million visitors, annually. It's clearly a legend in the northern Michigan doughnut community and the town loves this place. I found it to be a bit pricey and the doughnuts are decent but not great. They are generous with filling in the long John's and jelly filled. I will brag about their Pączkis every Fat Tuesday. A welcome alternative to being far from Hamtramck. It's more than just donuts. A full menu as well as cop-oriented souvenirs make it a fun place to browse. A small simple bakery with a few tables, most folk get their goodies to go. It's a good idea to grab a coffee and soak up the ambiance as often as you can. 04/24“

“I have been at the drive thru everyday since they opened. I have ordered several different drinks and they are all good. My favorite unsweetened iced tea with extra ice always quenches my thirst. The servers and cashiers are always friendly and smiling. Congratulations on making your opening successful!“

“We were heading into the area for my sons birthday celebration. We were not from the the area and I had found the bakery online. I contacted them and with very short notice they were able to make my son an amazing birthday cake! It tasted great and was exactly what we wanted!! Would highly recommend if you are looking for a cake!!“

“Love the decor, friendly and helpful staff when you walk in, great coffee! I am from out of town and drove around trying to find a quality cup of coffee. Thankfully this place popped up on my map. I don't care for overly sweet coffee so the girl helping me suggested the raspberry white chocolate flavored latte half sweet, which is perfect. I actually gave 5 stars but edited my post and knocking off stars for my sad to go breakfast I got.. I ended up waiting a while for my croissant breakfast sandwich and after I got in my car and saw it knew why.. It sat there in the back a while. Everything was cold (potatoes and sandwich), sandwich was soggy.. .Had potential but was a fail. I needed to get on the road so didnt have time for a pic or to go back. I was excited about this place, but with a breakfast like that it ruins a perfect rating. The staff should never let that go out the door like that. Not for 21.60 for a sandwich, coffee and tip. *Editing my post again and adding back a star for the heartfelt response I received from Morgan concerning my meal, including some things on their end to improve my experience. It's unexpected and unsolicited responses from a business sometimes that show they truly care about their customers and that deserves recognition. I will definitely give this place another shot when I come back through the area and hope the coffee is as good as it was the other day :)“
