They cheerfully made fresh batches of delicious hummus (two varieties) which came with chips and pita bread. I served that, along with two kinds of their fabulous soup, to my dinner guests. Everyone complimented the delicious food Kal and Ann prepared. If you haven’t tried KAL’s Lunch Bowl, located in the Royal Oak Farmers Market yet, I recommend it. • Unexpectedly, very small, downtown location.
• When we walked in it was very busy and we were not greeted. Also, we were unsure where to sit due to tables being used or had stuff on them.
• Only had one guy working. He was very nice and professional. There was way too much expected from just one worker to accomplish. He was amazing, very knowledgeable, and did his very best.

Generally, I have been able to find high-quality and authentic Korean restaurants, although they've been elusive in some areas or states. Finally, I discovered Chung Ki Wa in Michigan. I've brought clients and friends there for numerous meals. Every visit has been worthwhile, and the restaurant offers a private area where I've been able to host my clients for an elevated dining experience and private conversations. “Came here with a friend for their holiday flight. I’d never heard of it, but what a hidden gem! The flavors of each coffee were really well done and balanced (not overly sweet!) and I even enjoyed the peppermint mocha which I’m not always the biggest mint fan.

The place itself is really cute so I look forward to see what other kinds of flights they’ll offer throughout the year.“

“We recently had a road rally and this was one of our stops. The owner is awesome and didn't mind the traffic. We had coffees and snacks while there and have stopped in for ice cream and shakes in the past. There are tons of beer selections and cozy seating to hang out.“

It was late morning on a March Tuesday. We were a party of six, everyone ordering a different coffee drink. All six were happy with their drinks, including one of our party who works at a (nearly-nationwide) drive thru coffee place.
The atmosphere was chill. There were four or five individuals sitting/working and enjoying their coffees. The shop is larger inside than it initially appears; there's another room beyond the main/entry room with an upright piano and books lining the wall. If anything could be offered as an improvement, it *might* be the addition of a few more cafe tables/chairs in the 'library' room but only because it's such a cool room.
The building has character and history. Photos on the wall and some of the fixtures tell the story.
We'll make it a point to stop in next time we're in (or near!) Hamtramck.“
