“Big Boy brings back Nostalgia for me and anytime I’m on a trip I try and find one in Michigan. Reminds me of days gone by. From the moment I walked in I was met with a smile and was immediately seated and a waitress came over and took my order and although the restaurant is older and looks like it might need some updates, the food was great, my big boy burger was overflowing with hamburger as the portion was excellent and most of all my chocolate shake was phenomenal as I’ve tried shakes all over the world but none compare to the big boy shakes and I found this out years later as the secret is they use ice cream. So come to the big boy in Clio Michigan for great service, great food and the best milk shakes!“

“Never judge a book by its cover. This was an amazing diner and the manager was absolutely friendly and very on point with service. The food was amazing and I would highly recommend coming back here. I got the Philly steak sandwich with cheesy fries. Also the classic Rubin with tater tots was on point! Good food made fresh and good environment and family-friendly for the kids. I highly recommend it.“

“We stopped on the way home from Frankenmuth. We always stop when on trips up north. Today was HIGHLY disappointing. I ordered a corned beef sandwich. The bottom bread was soaked, I’m guessing someone didn’t drain the sauerkraut. I pointed it out. Instead of taking the plate to the kitchen to remake the sandwich she went to get a new bun. About 15 minutes later. I said EXCUSE ME , she said she’s waiting for them to make it ?? It wasn’t toasted or anything what’s to make ?? Still waiting…she brought me a piece of bun. Now the cheese is cold all in a clump and I had to make my own sandwich. I could have done that at home. I have NEVER not tipped until today. Most was brought home so I can warm it up and make it properly. I didn’t hit DO NOT RECOMMEND only because over 16 years this was the first incident. The waitresses handling of it was very poor !! And it wasn’t busy what so ever.“

“First of all great menu selection, and great food. But wanted to give a shout of thanks and praise to the waitstaff and management. Our large group really appreciated the accommodating, super friendly nature of the staff. They made us feel like family. We did get there just before the dinner rush the 2 nights we visited but they were quick to accommodate our 12+ group the first night and 25+ group the 2nd night. Everyone loved their food and our vegetarians had a lot to choose from too. Each night one waitress took care of our group and it was astonishing how quickly our orders were taken and our food was received. Management checked in on us regularly with friendliness that warmed our hearts. The hardest part was choosing what to order. I decided on the Sampler Dinner great value with a wide variety. The portions are generous almost enough for a family to share and the pricing is very reasonable. Beyond the service and food, the ambiance and décor complemented the experience nicely. “It's been a while since we last visited Cracker Barrel, we are not regulars but every once in a while we have a craving for an old country style breakfast. While we have always had a good or neutral experience, today's was exceptional primarily due to the excellent and friendly service we received from our server Quentin. He is exactly what our workforce needs to remain competitive in the world today. It may sound trivial but as someone who has worked with the general public for 40 years, it's no small matter to satisfy and please the sometimes unreasonable demands people have. “So we calorie splurged on a Big Ole Applebee's burger and switched up to waffle fries (for a nominal fee), and got 5 and a half waffle fries on the plate... not at all what we expected for an upcharge side. Our server agreed that was 'kinda skimpy' and said she would 'go yell at him for us'... We never saw a manager to flag down, which is unusual at Applebees, and will probably go to a different Applebees next time. We do like menu and the food, but there's an Applebees at every exit!“

And in the bag was several pieces of crunchy, fresh celery & 3 little containers of the BEST BLEU CHEESE dressing.... let's just say I wasn't in heaven!
