“I loved this place. Mary the owner, is sooooo sweet. We had Leslie as our server. She is very nice, she knows her job extremely well. My wife and I shared a piggy omelette and I had a lemon water. She had several shots of vodka. Our guests had salmon and the seafood omelette with the super grits. We enjoyed ourselves for Brandy's birthday brunch. Try this place out, the only thing is you must sit at the bar to receive the happy hour drinks.“

“The bartender Jon was amazing. The food is so good and the restaurant is absolutely beautiful. I will say that the hostess, Ms. P was extremely rude, and I almost left. I wanted to dine in, but Ms. P said reservations were required. I told her if we can't eat in, then we can order to go. She interrupted me while I was speaking and asked, "You wanted to eat in, don't you?" I almost left because as her being the face of the restaurant, it was not a welcoming experience.
I'm glad I walked away from her and ordered at the bar. She definitely needs a class in customer service.“

“Dinner was amazing! The hot crab dip was exceptional, shrimp and grits to die for! The chicken was unfortunately unseasoned and dry, when we told our server Krystal, she replaced the whole meal to go and was so kind about it! Brought it back to our hotel to try it and it was incredible!! Perfectly seasoned and moist, thank you Krystal, you’re the best!!“

“For a soul food restaurant the food was very close to homemade.The collard green were good.The bathroom left a lot to be desired. It was very nasty.The floors were sticky even in the bathroom. Overall the food was good and I would go back again.“

“Steve's Soul Food at 1440 Franklin Street in Detroit's Warehouse District, just a couple blocks from the River, is finally back open as of August 20, 2023. I'd prefer 2-3 visits before providing an opinion, but it's definitely worth a try. According to staff, hours are 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Wednesday thru Sunday.“

“Food was really good. I had no complaints. We ordered an extra side which they ran out of and thats fine but the server didnt want to let us remove it from our order. We said to forget the extra side but she kept pressing us to choose something different which we didnt eat because it wasnt to our liking. She commented on it not being touched and didn’t even offer to remove it from the bill. She seemed frazzled. They ran out of pretty much every dessert while we were there. They also dont give free refills on soft drinks which is odd. I would go again outside of those things.“

“Food was Delicious! Service was great. This was our first there - we felt welcomed. A man waited on us-excellent customer service. The greens, potato salad, perch fish and 7up pound cake were very good! Again the Food was well seasoned & well prepared. The soft music, clean restaurant, excellent food, and professional yet friendly co workers are all signs that we intend to re visit this restaurant!“

“This was our first time in Detroit and we wasn't sure where to eat so we googled local restaurants and read the menu and reviews. SavannahBlue had great reviews and we liked the menu, so we went. What an awesome choice we made! The food was delicious, the place is quaint and beautifully decorated. The service was top notch. Our waitress was Stephanie and she was amazing! We would definitely recommend this restaurant if you are ever in the Detroit area!! My husband had the Lamb Chops and I had the Fish plate. They were both delicious!! A couple next to us had the Shrimp and Grits and the Chicken Plate and they said their meals were delicious also!“

“The Birria Taco at Khalipha's Mobile Kitchen is the best taco I've had in my entire life! All of her food is mouth-watering, exceptionally delicious, high quality, and worth planning a long distance road trip to experience. So fortunate to have her in Metro Detroit!“
