I was in town for my daughter’s softball game and just planned on grabbing a sandwich from Subway. Little did I know that their Subways were both permanately closed. I then noticed a Market Street Deli. Well, that too was closed but what a blessing as I then found Chuck’s Pizza. I was greeted with not only super friendly staff, I was introduced to their gyro sandwich! Wow, wow, wow. Their homemade pesto that goes on this sandwich is amazing!

Chef Chuck's offers fantastic food, with the Arizona pizza, ruban pizza, and burrito pizza being particularly outstanding. The burrito pizza features a base of refried beans and cheese, topped with red peppers, red onions, jalapeños, and black olives. The pizza is fresh and hot, ready very quickly, and much better than any of the pizza chains. The staff is very friendly and welcoming, going above and beyond by greeting regulars by name and even calling back to clarify modifications. The atmosphere is cozy, and the location at 147 River Street in beautiful Elk Rapids is wonderful, allowing guests to enjoy pizza right in the heart of town or head to the beach. However, the pizza is too pricey, with a high price for even a single topping like mushrooms. Locals make this a regular staple, and guests would definitely come back.
