The culinary landscape in Northern Michigan in winter is a bit tundra-ish. Unless one wants to make the trek into Traverse City and spend a couple hundred dollars, the pickins' are a bit slim. This establishment has been on my radar for a while, but every time we've been in the area, the restaurant has been slamming busy. February is a great month to give it a try. Do not miss this place! The food is gorgeous, extremely creative, and expertly executed. The service was over the top great. I told them we had a birthday, and they called ahead for our desert order and sat us in a room by ourselves to make the experience perfect. Granted, it is off season mid-week, don't expect that in July, but they really deserve being recognized for going above and beyond. This will be a new regular haunt of ours without question.
