“Happy Accident. We were traveling home from Soo Locks/shipwreck museum and construction ran us right into a collision course with fantastic food! I had the Parm Beef sandwich served with fresh cut fries….followed up with a Michigan berry pie…yummm! So, the Parm Beef was “curl my toes” yummy-the beef was succulent, the bread tasty, Parmesan and dressings were spot on for maximum taste!We will return.“

“Our food is always delicious, however the service is lacking. My husband and I came in yesterday and put our names down for a 2 top, and then a few couples behind us had the same, we watched every one of them get seated before us. I'm not sure if I just get the "pleasure" of having the same server every time, or if all servers provide same level of service. I did hand a cash tip to the gentlemen that was running food non stop with a smile whole we were there, I felt he definitely needed recognition. I hope he knows his efforts were not unnoticed! now if only our server put in that same effort...“

“A truly magnificent experience. We were only in MI for the week, and had to make Wild Dog Grille a repeat. The staffing was excellent. Eric, Donna, and Diamond went above and beyond to make our visit with our fur baby Jaxon Bleu comfortable, inviting, and beyond expectations. The food is incredible. It was definitely the treat of a lifetime for our 34th anniversary trip. We’re planning a re-visit in the near future.“

“Be nice there are younger people who work here . Probably their first job . Very cute concept. Plenty of outdoor seating(picnic tables) Prices are cheaper than most restaurants downtown. A little slower than i thought it would be . I did order online to got there & my order wasn’t ready yet in which. They explained why and made up for it. They do charge a small fee for ordering online. Super sweet staff. Although I do believe my sandwich had the wrong cheese . It was still decent I mean it is a grilled cheese shack not a 5 star bouji restaurant . If you want something simple & quick for the most part. They do have corn hole boards as well. I’d definitely come here if you have little ones who can’t sit still in a restaurant. Small variety . But it’s a grilled cheese. If you have a bigger order prepare to wait .“

“We are in Saugatuck on vacation and have eaten here three times because it simply is the best place we’ve found to eat in Saugatuck. Food is fresh, creative, and so tasty. The Mediterranean couscous salad and Brussel kale Caesar are beyond delicious. The Maui sandwich was superb. Today my hubby got the burger and said it was the best burger he has ever eaten. The wait staff were professional, friendly, and attentive each time we dined there. This is a must try in Saugatuck. In a sea of restaurants serving the same tired menus, Pumpernickels is unique and delicious.“

“Sat outside for lunch and watched the world go by while we enjoyed our salads. I had the gorgonzola salad, and my cousin had the smoked salmon salad. I was so happy to learn they locally sourced everything. Our salad was from a farm in Caledonia, MI, and the salmon came from Big O's and live caught in the Great Lakes. Everything was delicious, and our server was amazing. Definitely recommend!“
