Küsterer Brauhaus Brewery • $

“Daughter kept hyping up Apfelwein she had in Frankfurt. I stumbled across KB looking for cider places. Apfelwein on the menu! What a fun surprise! Far better than the cider place we visited next and tried a 6 cider flight. We only wish we could’ve brought some home in a growler 😞 but I suppose we’ll have to return :)“

Brass Ring Brewing Brewery • $$
2404 Eastern Ave SE, Grand Rapids

“I went picked Brass Ring Brewing to celebrate my birthday with my family. I choose Brass Ring because I was interested in trying their cask ales. What I found at Brass Ring was a level of customer service that I have rarely found across the food service industry. We showed up at Brass Ring to find that a very large group was dining there, taking up a majority of the seating. They don't take reservations, so it was going to be a challenge finding a table for our group of 6. The owner heard the staff struggling to find us an available table. He jumped in and found a solution. He personally asked a couple that was seated at a large table if they would be willing to move. They graciously accepted to make room for us. This level of customer service has obviously been trained into the entire staff because our waiter was the most helpful and hospitable server I've ever encountered. Firstly, he was extremely knowledgeable of food and drink menu, helping us to navigate it superbly. He also got the entire restaurant to sing "Happy Birthday" with us when it was time for dessert. The food and drinks were top notch, but the customer service was out of this world. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to the Brass Ring. You will not be disappointed!“

Andrew was our bartender and I want to specifically say what an amazing job he did. Great bartender, good recommendations, and his quality of service would certainly be a reason I'll be back here more often.“

Greyline Brewing Co. Brewery • $$
1727 Alpine Ave NW, Grand Rapids

“Been in GR for almost a year and while we had high hopes of finding a kick ass beer and brewery quickly, it took longer than expected. After a year we only have a few we really like. This is one of them. I won't mention the others on this but Greyline (Grayline?) is in our top 3. Beer is killer, food kicks ass and they have great variety of food without over complicating menu. Ruben week is this week. Come in and grab a beer and some killer food and enjoy. Can bring kids but I wouldn't recommend due to size, really no room for the little monsters unless you use the patio so keep that in mind....but totally bring your dog! We all love dogs and if you don't.......well....your cat sucks!“

City Built Brewing Company Brewery • $$
820 Monroe Ave NW STE 155, Grand Rapids

“City Built Brewing Company is a great spot on the corner for grabbing some beers! I didn’t try the food, so can’t speak to that, but their beer selection is solid — especially if you’re into hop-forward brews. They’ve got a good variety and offer flights, which is always a plus when you want to sample a few.

The atmosphere is fun and lively, and the service was solid throughout. Definitely a cool place to hang out and enjoy some well-crafted beers in Grand Rapids.“

Schmohz Brewing Co Brewery • $
2600 Patterson Ave SE, Grand Rapids

“Schmohz is a nice little brewery that feels more like a local bar than most. It’s a cozy space with a pool table and a small patio, and the bar and tables provide plenty of decent seating. The bartender seems to remember her customers pretty well and is quite friendly. The beers are decent, but sometimes you do encounter one with a bit of an off-flavor. Their gruits tend to be quite tasty, however. I do keep coming back to Schmohz because of the atmosphere and the hours, however. I hope they stick around for years to come.“

Atwater Brewery in GR Brewery • $$
201 Michigan St NW, Grand Rapids

“What a nice brewpub , ambience is good, the brew is great, and the food very good
1st time and not to be the last, we enjoyed tasty brews like “dirty blonde ale “ and immediately liked this place, they have about 30 on tap, wow.
The food (I had the Rubin) was very good from the bread to heaping of the tasty meat
Their staff was diligent and attentive, we were taken aback by this friendly place
If there were a complaint it would be parking downtown (not good) , not their fault
We have placed Atwater on our list of favorite micro brew pubs
Note : happy hour is 3:13 to 6:16 and best time to be there (they are based out of 313 area of Detroit, now in 616)
Great place, good food, good times to be had“

The owner was super sweet and obviously puts a ton of time and energy into making this business the best it can be and even made an effort to connect with every table at least once. Whether you’re looking to stop in for a few drinks or hang out for a couple hours this place is a great option!“

Founders Brewing Co Brewery • $
235 Cesar E. Chavez Ave SW, Grand Rapids

“Most breweries can make a good beer. A lot of breweries can make one great beer. Very few can make several really great beers. In my rankings, Founders is #1. This location is first-class all the way! I was a little surprised - you're not gonna drink on the cheap, but really the prices aren't bad for quality of beer and environment that you're getting. I very much wish I lived closer.

One question: My receipt and Google Maps do not agree on the street name. When did the street get renamed, and why?“

“Our waiter was a nice young man, but we had 2 issues with our lunch. #1... we ordered boneless wings but got bone in wings. The waiter made things right and it wasn't that big of a deal. When it was time to pay the bill, I used the QR code on the table. To my surprise, we were billed for two lunch platters when we only ordered one. Again, the waiter apologized and had the bill corrected. My buddy and I left feeling like two errors was one too many. I will dine here again, but will be testing the staff to make sure there are no errors like this again (I will not go back if there are errors this time).“
