“This lounge has changed its concept a bit- now there are two bars connected. Drinks are a bit more expensive and “higher-end” on one side whereas the other side is more low-key. My friend and I had a couple cocktails and the bartender was nice and attentive. He made some good recommendations, and we enjoyed our time.“

“My friends and I had a great time here! We walked in on a Saturday and were able to get seated right away! The hostess was friendly and our server was great. Each of us enjoyed our drinks! My husband did the mystery drink and ended up enjoying his as well. The decor is super cute in there and the hanging lights give it a cozy vibe. “Formerly Reserve Wine & Food, Allora is owned by The Windquest Group (Dick & Betsy DeVos) which basically owns downtown Grand Rapids and opened earlier this year. My expectations were very high. \n\nUpon entering the restaurant, you first have to enter a lobby area which leads into the restaurant. We arrived early and wanted to have drinks at the bar but it was full. We were told to come back for our allotted reservation (the bar only seats 8). \n\nThe space is intimate with mostly table seating. Menu is decent. We started with the fried seafood, Aranci balls and yellowtail. Portions are small, food is unremarkable. Caesar salad had fresh anchovies, nice touch. Bread service is $10, so irritating. \n\nSquid ink pasta was excellent. Filets were good although not Prime and Ora King was decent, although 6 oz. portion not filling. \n\nThey offer corkage fee for $50 bottle, two bottle max which we took advantage of although our waiter wasn't happy about it. \n\nOverall, Allora is nothing to write home about and nothing stands out on the menu. For a "coastal" Italian restaurant and owned by the DeVos family, our expectations were not met and will not return.“

“Reservations were made for here for an after graduation party. It was a great choice. Allie did a fantastic job of taking care of our party of 12; thank you. The appetizers were very good. We had a sampling of almost everything. The burgers, dill pickle chicken sandwich excellent. I am told the grilled cheese was the best in the state. Definitely a place we will return to.“

“Details matter. I wanted to get a reservation for the 13th evening for an anniversary dinner. Checked the menu for appropriate food - I'm specifically meat and potatoes. Got it, going with the Ribeye and Au Gratin potatoes, side of spinach. All set - No reservation later than 1400, OK will go with that. It's a little early for dinner, but hey, if the food is as advertised, I can make adjustments. Show up at 1400, great welcome, nice booth, BUT the menu doesn't look anything like what we had discussed for three days. Come to find out they do a brunch until 1700. Almost no meat and fries are potatoes, I guess.

Minus all the above. Had an excellent fillet. It was probably the best I have had in 20 years, but I'm usually a ribeye guy. Truffle fries were very nice - I eat them plain, so they were fine. My wife liked the mustard, I heard it was. I had the wedge salad, which was a wedge salad - My wife consumed the pork bellies that came with it.

What to do about a review: The standard of what we got was excellent; the service was good; My disappointment was that nowhere in the documentation or reservation process did anyone say it was a brunch or an abbreviated menu. I came for the ribeye - Wont be back.“

“A passable pub experience on their patio. On a hopping night downtown with a wait most places there was room for eight of us on their patio.

Despite the Dublin name, this feels like a pretty basic American joint, with friendly staff. I did appreciate that they had cans of NA Guinness 0!

The onion rings and loaded fries arrived barely warm, and I wouldn’t call the fries “loaded.” More like sprinkled. But the fries and toppings were tasty, and the onion ring dipping sauce was good.“

“Mertens Prime is a beautiful establishment filled with history. It's a gorgeous facility that has 3 different venues and is absolutely perfect for weddings and events. I love that they have a scratch kitchen and that they do a seasonal menu. If you've never been, I suggest you go there.“
