I thought my server Alex oversold the chocolate mousse cake. I was wrong. She undersold it because it was one of the best chocolate deserts I have ever eaten including Belgium and Switzerland. Lake Perch also recommended!
Made reservations about 10 days in advance. Showed up to people waiting outside for seats, but we were seated right away.
Ordered the lobster tail. When it arrived the waitress said that the chef apologizes for the appearance and that he was preparing a second one to make amends. The first was a bit small and came out of the shell kinda funky, but having a second larger perfect tail made my night. Two for one. Great service!

The Manitou is a restaurant known for its exceptional food and welcoming atmosphere. Guests enjoy crispy toast, fine spinach salad, crispy duck, and lamb chops—the best they’ve ever had. The service is friendly and attentive, with a well-trained staff. The outdoor seating area is a charming feature, beautifully situated in the woods near Crystal Lake. The restaurant stays open late into the season, serving consistently great food, including the best fish preparation many have ever tasted. The people made our experience superior. Levi, the bartender, treated us so well, serving not just good drinks, but great jokes as well. This is probably the best place we’ve ever run across. Reservation made seating immediate as they were quite busy upon opening on this Wednesday. We will return!
