“The Eagle Tavern is something special I feel . It definitely takes you back to a simpler time .. where the menu will consist of food that’s in season and readily available from the area. I.E roast pork (which I got and was amazing ) Fish , roasted chicken various root vegetables and nice homemade breads and desserts. Staff is dressed to period which dates around the 1850’s or so and are very welcoming and accommodating. You sit at tables with other families like a big dining hall. Though you can get a table for yourselves if you have a big enough party . We just had three in ours so we were sat with another party of three and it was nice to meet and eat with other people and hear their stories . They do have a kids menu it is limited though !! Chicken fingers , PB&J and Mac and cheese. My son got chicken fingers and it came with orange slice’s and roasted potato wedges. Overall we had a great experience and the atmosphere sights and sounds does kinda take you back to a simpler slower time which I enjoyed . Must visit if you plan on a trip to greenfield village . Expect to wait around a half hour or so. Not sure if that’s the average but it was pretty busy the day we went . Definitely will be going back if we go back to greenfield village.“

“I love the venue, the food, and the service. However, there was a minor detail that bothered both my girlfriend and me. I ordered a Dolly chicken sandwich and, since I'm not keen on tartar sauce, I asked for it to be omitted and for a small side of big boy sauce instead. Upon receiving my bill, I noticed a 50-cent charge for the side. Inquiring about it, the server replied with "IDK." I acknowledged it, but admittedly, it left me slightly irritated.“

“I have lunch here about every two weeks. My best impression, is having a floor manager, visit the table, during my visit, to ask if all is well. Having that backup, besides a waitress, is excellent customer care!“

“Came at dinner, got breakfast. Just finished at the gym and was needing some dinner. My friend and I stopped in on a Monday around 7p and were greeted at the door and were told to seat ourselves. Water arrived promptly and our order was taken within a few minutes. We both ordered Greek skillets and a side coney dog for an appetizer, because a three egg skillet just ain’t enough. Food was fantastic, a good sized portion and came fast! Our server was very attentive and brought extra waters as she could tell we were thirty having just came from the gym.
The atmosphere is what it is. Place needs some love on the interior, maybe some paint, some new tables. Booths are a little worn and tables show visible signs of years of patronage. Go to Anna’s house if you want decor and overpriced food is my take.
Overall this place hits right and I don’t care what the tables look or feel like as long as the service and food are consistently as good as it was tonight.“

Every time my brother comes in town, no matter how far his hotel stay is in the suburbs, he’s coming here for breakfast and says repeatedly, “There’s no place in Virginia that even compares to Lon’s”. ONE COOK is grilling for an entire dining area of people and how he can navigate the orders, get them right and serve the customers delicious, piping hot food in a timely fashion is short of amazing! He’s quiet and doesn’t have time to ‘chit chat’ but will speak briefly. Omelets are fresh and delicious. Specify if you want your hash browns ON THE SIDE, otherwise they may be stuffed inside which is still good. Wait staff is pleasant and accommodating but most importantly, cooking and prep area is clean and tidy. Enjoy!“

“A Surprising Gem

We stopped by Lake Pointe Yacht Club for a bite to eat, as there aren’t a lot of options in the area. The biggest surprise was discovering it’s a bikini bar—not something the name hints at! That said, it wasn’t an issue, just an unexpected twist.

The place was packed, but we were lucky to grab two seats at the bar. Despite the crowd, the wait staff was incredible—constantly on the move and impressively quick with service.

We tried the buffalo chicken fingers, and they didn’t disappoint—savory, saucy, and absolutely delicious.

Overall, it was a fun experience, and we’re looking forward to returning. If you’re in the area and looking for quick, tasty food with a lively atmosphere, this spot is worth a visit!“

“My husband and I had our wedding ceremony and reception at the Lakes of Taylor Golf Club on June 24, 2023. We were thrilled with how friendly and accommodating all of the staff was during our wedding day. Our guests couldn't stop talking about how the food was delicious and how they loved talking to our bartenders. The venue also accommodated some of our guest's dietary restrictions and our bar menu. We planned our event with Debbie. She was helpful and organized. She couldn't make it on our special day, so Nancy filled in during our rehearsal and wedding day. Nancy was also very helpful, accommodating, and kind. The ceremony space was beautiful! It included an arch with white flowers and greenery draped over it. Our only complaint was how hot the reception hall was. Some of the guests said they were comfortable with the temperature. It was a very hot and humid day outside. The building is a little bit older so it was difficult to regulate the temperature. Overall, the Lakes of Taylor Golf Club was the perfect venue for our wedding. Our package included two entrees at the buffet, a wedding cake, table linens, and bar. The price was perfect for everything included in our package. The location is close to the airport and great for having a ceremony/reception at the same venue. We couldn't be happier with our choice!“

“I came here with my boyfriend and we both ordered burgers, and the gal up front was very nice. I have a gluten allergy and asked for an item to be left off along with a gluten free bun because of my allergy, and they accidentally included it on my meal still. I didn't realize until I got home and I live a good distance away so I called, and they were so apologetic it almost made me feel bad ? they immediately refunded the entire order and continued to apologize profusely. What I did have of my meal was fantastic and my boyfriend thoroughly enjoyed his as well. The only reason I gave 4 stars was because of the allergy, literally everything else was perfect. I'll be back and I'll also refer some friends, gluten free or not. Double check in the store for sure if you do have an allergy. But they're so understanding and accommodating of food restrictions that I will still eat here and encourage my gf friends to try it too. I had the blazing burger, the Cajun fries, and my boyfriend had a make your own- Fantastic, all of it, fantastic!

“For a stereotypical American breakfast-type chain restaurant, the food is pretty good and consistent. I've never had any real issues with my orders and IF there was a mistake it was always minor and corrected immediately with an apology and a smile.

The atmosphere is a bit nostalgic which is part of the charm for me personally. It feels old school and comforting which is nice in a fast-paced world.

The customer service is really why I'm here to write this review though. Having frequented this place so much to the point where a few of the servers know exactly who I am and what I want (lol), it's still always a pleasant interaction and warm smiles all around. If I ever move, I will sincerely miss this place.“

“I love the interior of this place. The curved countertop seating. The feel of history in dining at a Coney Island like you get at Lafayette in downtown Detroit. Waitress was attentive, Good chili with the dog and plenty of fries at a great price. They've redone the exterior since was last here, which it was needing some kind of attention before, but the color scheme just does not suite the place with it's vintage diner theme inside, should really embrace that somehow outside as well. I nearly drove past it especially since it didn't really stand out from the buildings around it. My brother also loves the coffee here. Give some love and attention to this gem of a Coney Island.

“Recently renovated, this restaurant is usually packed at dinner. No reservations. The food is good and ample. Soups are hearty and excellent! The service is really good. I like that some dishes, cabbage rolls for example, you can order one or two. Prices have become pretty steep for a diner style restaurant. Not unusual to pay close to $20 for an entree. Atmosphere is rated average due to noise level and need to wait for seating. That said the renovation is really pleasant and the people couldn’t be kinder. Recommend!“
