“Recently renovated, this restaurant is usually packed at dinner. No reservations. The food is good and ample. Soups are hearty and excellent! The service is really good. I like that some dishes, cabbage rolls for example, you can order one or two. Prices have become pretty steep for a diner style restaurant. Not unusual to pay close to $20 for an entree. Atmosphere is rated average due to noise level and need to wait for seating. That said the renovation is really pleasant and the people couldn’t be kinder. Recommend!“

“Walked in and ordered bowl of chili with ground beef and beans, small Greek salad and a large Coke to go. Order was ready in less than than 5 minutes. Very friendly staff, greeting me right when I walked in the door. Delivery available by DoorDash. Can even place orders on their website.“

“The only thing keeping this place from a full five-star review is the fact that I've gotten stale nacho chips on the RARE occasion. Aside from that, the food is always made fresh and served hot. It's cooked well and full of flavor. The wait staff is always friendly and personable and willing to accommodate in any way they can. Even when the tables are full, it doesn't feel too overcrowded and is still an enjoyable atmosphere.

Parking: Shares its parking lot with other businesses, so at peak times, parking can be scarce. Though I have never personally been unable to find at least one spot.“

“I like many of you, like using the review score when making purchase decisions. I never just look at the score. I look for the number of reviews and I try to find helpful reviews to give me more incite into what I may be getting into. My wife works in a business where the reviews really matter for bringing in new customers. She often talks about the long-time customers who keep returning but have never left a review. Those are really the voices that should matter more to people who want an honest review of the company they are looking into. Unfortunately, even though I like looking at reviews, I seldom leave one unless I'm very satisfied with the company or really disappointed. In both cases, I leave my emotions aside and tell things as I experience them. This means that if everything wasn't perfect, I don't ding them for minor stuff. I give people the benefit of the doubt because we all have those days when we aren't at our best. When I read bad reviews about restaurants that I frequent often, I wonder about the person leaving the review. I feel that they are either competitors with malicious intent, someone who didn't try to listen to resolve whatever issues they perceived to be happening, or simply someone who's looking for a reason and is too hard to please in the first place. So with all that out of the way, let me get to the Lim's Star review. I love Chinese food and it's one of the first things I looked for locally when I bought my house 10 years ago. There are several in what I would consider my drivable area. Lim's Star is in my top 5 or higher depending on what dish I'm looking for. 10 years means I've been coming there since before the current owner. Do I miss the dinner rolls? Not really, since I get better quality food and personalization of meals on request. The new owner knows us on sight and remembers what we like to order. He even allows us to modify the ingredients to our liking. He is very friendly and will engage in small talk to get to know his customers better. We eat at or buy takeout from Lim's Star at least once a month, sometimes more. Has everything always been perfect? No, but I really can't recall the last time I was dissatisfied with my order or service. Based on my long review, I'm hoping you can tell I have had many enjoyable meals from and experiences with Lim's Star. Seriously! If you are on the fence or willing to try something new in your area, start with a dish you know to compare. I doubt you will be disappointed in your comparison. Mark J.“

“We were there for lunch and while the food was great to waitress was great there was a kind of musty smell through the place. Tables unless you're sitting at a high top in the middle of the place it is highly cramped. Brussel sprouts we had over done and actually kind of burnt. Someone had pizza and not sure if it was sausage or bacon but it was burnt to a crisp and I mean truly burnt. Are the salmon that another person had had great flavor it was also on the dry side. You own a truly needs to look at the menu and how things are actually coming out of his kitchen“

I did not really like it, but instead of feeling bad about my decision, the waitress was very friendly and reassuring that my concerns were valid and recommended I speak to the manager. The manager did a FANTASTIC job of turning this experience into a great one.
