“The food is very good and fresh. I've not had everything yet, but I'm working on it. I love falafel and usually make it myself. It's good to be able to go somewhere to get it when I don't feel like making it. The only issue I have with the bowls is that the onion cuts are inconsistent. It might seem insignificant, but it really does affect how the whole dish tastes. One bite may have a nice small - medium diced piece of onion and the next night have a huge 4inch piece. That burn of a large piece of raw onion is unpleasant, at least for me. I like onions, but may have to opt to delete them from my bowls and maybe add my own.

The other thing that could use improvement is their pick up window. Each time I've visited, there is a long line of people waiting for their orders. When I approached the pick up counter today, there were about 8 people ahead of me waiting, order was sitting on the counter with approximately 6-7 other completed orders. I felt kinda bad going ahead of everyone else, but I had received a text that my online order was ready. I had ordered from work. Though it looked as if I was cutting in line, I wasn't, and our didn't make sense for me to wait behind the 8 people in front of me who were still waiting and let my food get cold.

I pray that this process is more streamlined soon. I give them grace because they're new and may not have anticipated the demand, but a larger pick up area will help them and their customers.“

“At a recent family birthday celebration, I needed appetizers at the last minute. I went to the right people for help! It was no problem for Kal and Ann! They cheerfully made fresh batches of delicious hummus (two varieties) which came with chips and pita bread. I served that, along with two kinds of their fabulous soup, to my dinner guests. Everyone complimented the delicious food Kal and Ann prepared. If you haven’t tried KAL’s Lunch Bowl, located in the Royal Oak Farmers Market yet, I recommend it. “Tucked into a little strip just off Woodward with office buildings all around, this suburban deli is probably the antithesis of a NYC deli: quiet, relaxing, more like a coffee house with food instead. They do a heck of a takeaway business as I found out while I ate in.An avuncular gentleman greeted me well before I made it to the counter. Great sense of humor, too. He joked with the other staff when not waiting on customers.I ordered a full Chicken Greek grilled wrap. Everything is available as full or half. Full wraps are $13, halves are $10. The other sandwiches are similarly priced.Only had to wait a couple minutes for my sandwich to be made.It was mildly flavored, the Greek/Italian dressing & feta really the only flavor involved. No olives, lots of iceberg and some tomato accompanied the chicken, as well. A touch dry, too.Plenty of seating if you want to stay. They even have electrical outlets under benches so you can recharge your electronic leash, I mean, cell phone.There is a restroom but you have to go into the kitchen to get there.

Vegetarian options: Salads, soups, quesadillas and sandwiches can all be had without meat.

Parking: 22 spaces in front.

Kid-friendliness: Unless your kids are feral beasts, they'll be fine here.

Wheelchair accessibility: Easily accessed, no curb, double doors and an abundance of room to navigate. Plenty of tables to sidle the wheelchair up to, as well.“

“This is my second time at this location! I was greeted by Jayla who was very pleasant. When I picked up my order the young lady, Jam, offered me a paper tray which was nice to eat my food on while dining in, and the restaurant was very clean which gets ten stars for me. I would of liked a hook in the restroom to hang up my purse while I used the restroom. Otherwise a beautiful experience. I will be back to this location in Southfield on Northwestern Highway.“
