“I tried their pizza challenge. It was fun. The gluten-free pizza was good, too.

- Pizza 28” Challenge - $35: Super thin, but soft and fairly good.

The crust was dry, tough, chewy and was fairly plain. The pizza was easy, but the crust was very hard. I saved the crust for last (a tactic I learned from another competitor), but in this case, I think you need to eat the crust along the way so you don’t get tired of chewing it all at the end. Break it up.

I failed by one slice and almost all the crust I saved for the end. It sounds like the challenge is undefeated currently. Someone has to beat it. It is well within the possibility compared to other challenges out there. Though it is 28” and that sounds huge (it is huge), it is actually thin enough that it is still very much possible for those who train for it.

I’d have to guess it is 4 pounds. I weighed it at 3.5 pounds, but we couldn’t get it to balance well enough to take our hands off of it to get an accurate measurement. 28” is huge!!!

- Pizza 9” - $: Fits on a plate. My daughter ate it and reported it was good. The crust was plain.

- Cauliflower Pizza 12” - $: Except for the amount of cheese, it would have been my daughter’s new favorite gluten-free pizza.

- Service: Super helpful and cheerful. She was new, but it didn’t show at all. She was very proficient and amazing!

- Atmosphere: Clean. A bit on the darker side, but not bad. There is a higher ceiling and voices probably carry very easily. We didn’t experience that too much since we stopped by during a slow time.

- Conclusion: I’d certainly recommend this place for many reasons including the cheerful staff.

“Five stars! We ended a week of camping with a vehicle delay on our way home and stopped for lunch at Big Bob’s while my husband took the truck to get fixed. First of all, the food was amazing (our son said the deep dish was better than Giordano’s). But more importantly, Rob and his staff took were beyond hospitable to our 3 kids and I as we spent the next 5 hours utilizing their Uno cards, Connect Four and enjoying their complementary popcorn. If you’re ever in the Grand Rapids area we highly recommend giving them a try. We’ll definitely be back next time we come through Grand Rapids.“

“I got delivery and they delivered it just how I asked. The pizza was very good. The only issue was that I ordered 1/2 and 1/2 and it was more like 3/4 and 1/4. Which for most people it wouldn't be a big deal but if you have super picky eaters or someone allergic to an item that could be an issue. “Ordered a deluxe pizza to go, 30 minute drive home, then mowed the grass for 90 minutes then finally had a slice of pizza at room temperature.. I feel it is the the best pizza I’ve ever had! I can’t imagine how incredible it would’ve been directly out of the wood-fired pizza oven. It has been at least 8 years since I’ve been to Marinades, I think I’ll be there again in the next 8 days!!!!!!! The service was OUTSTANDING!!!! I repeat THE BEST PIZZA I HAVE EVER HAD!!!!! “The pizza is always great here. I love a crispy brick oven pizza. So, this time I decided to try something different. I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs for dining in, and the grilled chicken sliders and a regular kids’ cheese pizza to go. The spaghetti was perhaps just a difference of preference for taste. To me the sauce was too sweet and thin/watery. There also was no shaved Parmesan or basil, which the menu says are part of the dish. So, pasta portion was just really lacking in any flavor. However, the meatballs have amazing flavor! I’d eat them every day. The grilled chicken sliders were extremely disappointing. They each had maybe a bite and a half of chicken in a small strip. As you can see from the picture, one really had less than a bite. The sauce that was supposed to be on the sandwiches was missing. Just disappointing overall. The service was great, the restaurant is clean and comfortable, drinks were nice, and the pizza did not disappoint as per usual. I’ll stick to the pizza, cheese bread and bruschetta moving forward…they’re always great!“

“We went to this Cottage Inn because we haven’t had it since college. It is such a cute restaurant. The man who waited on us was so friendly and patient while we figured out what we wanted. “Honestly I can't believe it took so long to get around to trying flos pizza. I've been mourning a good local shop with a outstanding crust since brick road pizza went down, and I've finally found it.
If you're serious about a good crisp, but chewy crust, literally look no further.
To be honest, they missed a topping or two for the pizza we ordered, but I literally could not care less. This is the best pizza I've ever gotten in town.“

I got a voicemail from James @ Jet’s trying to determine if my order was for tonight (since I forgot to change delivery time to tomorrow 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️) or for tomorrow. In his voicemail he mentioned that since we usually order on Mondays, he’s going to assume it’s for tomorrow unless I call back. How many companies would go through that trouble??? “It’s excellent Neapolitan style pizza. If somebody wants a normal New York style pizza, or don’t understand what a Neapolitan style is, I can understand how they would give it a bad review, And that’s a lot of people. But if you know what it is, this is the best in the area of this style. Grand Rapids is probably the largest city in the country that doesn’t have a Neapolitan style pizza restaurant. Hate to have to chase a truck around, but it’s worth it“
