“We walked in on a Sunday evening for dinner with no reservation. Immediately, we were warmly greeted by the manager/owner Alberto and provided a prime table. Our server Francisco was attentive, funny, and foresightful. He knew how to recommend the right dishes as well as keep our kids engaged throughout the meal.Food was amazing. Especially the choriqueso appetizer and the Birria quesadilla dinner. Order the fresh lemonade. You'll want a second glass. Some decent Mexican that can be an alternative to your go to around the area.Chips and salsa: they bring out mild salsa initially, so make sure you ask for hot or green if you want some different flavor. The mild was a bit sweet for my taste.Horchata: the large is huge, share it with your significant other or kiddos. Be aware that there are no refills on refrescas or horchata. Decent amount of cinnamon flavor, not overly sweet. Would get it again.Tacos: I had an al pastor, chorizo and lengua. lengua was tender and tasty. Al pastor was flavorful and slightly sweet from pineapple. Chorizo was a pass for me.My wife had a combination with mole sauce on an enchilada and that had a unique flavor. “The food was great! I had the meatloaf special and it was very interesting. The meatloaf had the taste of a normal meatloaf, but instead of serving it with ketchup, it was served with gravy. I was skeptical of the combo, but it was a really great combo, especially paired with the mashed potatoes. The service was great, and all the waitresses worked together to help if the other was busy, so we were always taken care of. I will say the biggest complaint is that you will smell like the cooking when you leave the building. It was a small price to pay for a great meal.“

“This is my go to place for Mexican food in Birmingham. Next to Market Northend, smaller and also accessible when you have no reservations elsewhere. The servers are incredible, the drinks they come up with are always great - especially if you love Mezcal.I typically order the “Big Mac” Slider special, ceviche, or the Fajita Bowl. “Our family stopped In there today to try for the first time. We had 2 Large steak burritos, 1 veggie burrito bowl and 2 churros. Food was amazingly good. The establishment was clean. “The food was excellent well flavored and not hot which is more traditional Mexican Cuisine. Our server was Angel. He is warm, friendly and happy to answer questions. My house Margherita was divine. We are fajita quesadillas with chicken for me and steak for my husband. Both were delicious. We ordered a large bowl of guacamole and sour cream to top them off. The decore was a bit dated but that didn't hamper our dinner in any way. There's multiple TVs showing a varietyW stations. This would be a good place to watch sports. “We dined here on a busy Friday night. Food was fantastic. The guacamole was on point. We all had meat free meals for Lent and all of them were great. I would definitely recommend dining here. “Husband picks up from here on his way from work otherwise it’s quite a drive- Personally, I prefer eating in versus carry out- I love their barbacoa ( beef cheek) Seasoned and juicy- Had piratas and tostadas- side beans and guacamole- All very tasty and filling- Husband ordered 2 sides of refried beans but we there would have been plenty for 2 with just one order- The guacamole is expensive for the amount that you get but it was tasty -The piratas were tasty but not what I was expecting- Basically a soft shell taco a piece of tomato, a chunk of avocado- cheese was all at the bottom ( like a taco- )I thought they would be like mini quesadillas -No grill marks like a quesadilla-They didn’t look anything like the pictures that other customers posted of them-I didn’t care for the red salsa - sweet and no heat- Had a weird tasteThey do a great job at wrapping the tostadas for carry out- They don’t get tossed around, steamed in the styrofoam container-“

We have never had this place before and have heard only stories from him about it.The wrap tasted amazing and it was gigantic! When they saw my wife was pregnant they went above and beyond for us to get us seated as possible and the servers work as a team so somebody is always there to check on you. “Loved the food! The service was pretty good. We were a party of 15, and we were brought the check on one bill. Never asked how we wanted the check and when we asked if they could split it, they said no, sorry. It’s on one bill. Then, when someone only had a card and no cash to add to the bill total, they happily took off her part of the bill and redid the total. So if you’re a large group, just make sure you clarify how they’re doing the bill before hand. Temperature is also inconsistent with hot to cold shifts, so bring a jacket. Great food though at a great cost!!!“
