Mexican Restaurants near Walled Lake

“The atmosphere is fresh and the food was great. A good selection in menu and all the items we ordered were fresh and tasty, especially the tacos were great. Service was great and patiently explained questions asked about the menu items allowing for simple customizations. Will surely be back again.“

“***Update May 2026***
Have tried this location 3 times recently and every single time the order has been correct, food items are full, and the staff are friendly! Updating the review to fairly reflect the change. Wait times can still be longer (that’s the minus 1 star).

Original Review with 2 star rating:
Since the move to the new location: my order has never been correct, the line is longer or service takes longer, and going inside is pointless. The old location I would’ve given 5 stars for fast food and service. Now we drive to the Taco Bell in Commerce where you actually get appropriately stuffed tacos and burritos.“

“We ate here to celebrate a birthday November of 2024. Everyone received their food quickly, enjoyed their entrees, margs and the chips and salsa. The most amazing tasty item was an appetizer of elote corn dip. I could just eat nothing else and be perfectly happy. 😊. Definitely give this restaurant a try. And btw, I’m from the Southwest: nothing was spicy but everything was delicious!“

“The best Mexican around! Food, drinks and staff are all amazing. Nothing else compares and after our first visit anytime we go anywhere else we leave disappointed wishing it was El Camino.“

“Very fun, festive atmosphere. Delicious food, wonderful Sangria and attentive wait staff. A very unique place to enjoy an excellent Mexican meal. Definitely will be back.“

“Didn't get a chance to try the food unfortunately but this is definitely quite the little place, and I mean literally! The market and restaurant are basically fused together! We came to get some groceries and had to squeeze between some tables to get to the ailes, but thats no biggie. They had everything we needed and the meat was of good quality for its price. Will hopefully try the food sometime.

Only real complaint is one of the ailes was full of boxes and a step stool, making it hard to navigate. Plus there was an exposed box cutter on one of the shelves!!!! Please store those away!“

“Have gone to this place a few times within a few months and have loved it each time. Our first time, more notably, was met with an incredible experience in hospitality and service. The food was amazing, and (contrary to some people on here apparently) adequately portioned. The kind man who made our delicious drinks even brought us napkins and water cups without hesitation. Looking forward to the next time we're able to visit.“

“Quick, authentic food…you won’t get anything better and love how it’s local in our town! I never not see it packed, it’s the real deal.“

“We ordered the the veggie and steak Fajitas. Reasonable prices, with lots of healthy choices. So delicious, and we had great service too.“

“Kai and sky were absolutely amazing in assisting me with my order! They are very informed and knowledgeable regarding the menu and promotion offering! I will definitely be a consistent patron at this establishment. Kudos to the entire crew!“

“The Mexican food in Waterford period!!“

“A huge shoutout to Jasmine for fantastic service during my lunch break today! She was professional, warm, and fast; getting me in and out quickly despite my tight schedule, all with a great smile. Jaz definitely deserves a raise, and I will definitely be returning!“

“Delicious and flavorful food. Friendly staff. Mexican style/street tacos flare. Positive energy vibe, plenty of seating available. I had the California burrito and asked to add cilantro and had no issues, in fact the person taking the order loaded me up with additional toppings and sauces that the burrito was filling enough for 2 meals. Also had the trio sampler (guacamole, cheese, salsa) with chips. Very filling. Great flavor profile. Will definitely be adding this to my list to return again.“

“Such good quality food, the owner has real care and passion for his restaurant, and I can’t stop thinking about their food.“

“Everytime I am in the area I stop here for my favorite Tacos de Lengua. Their salsas are really good and the beans and rice are perfect. It’s in the back of a store so the parking isn’t always great but I always find a place to park. People are very friendly“

“The Menudo was excellent!“

“It was my first time here and it exceeded all expectations. We were greeted as soon as we walked in, seated immediately with warm tortilla chips and salsa already on the table. Our server was very friendly. He took our order and the food was out in less than ten minutes. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced.“

“Had carry out for the first time since the new ownership. Sadly, a little disappointed. I ordered the the Zip Sauce Alfredo with chicken .It was really good! However, it didn't have much chicken in it at all the the garlic bread that it came with was soggy. My wife got the "Double Fajitas" with steak and chicken. The steak was pretty bland and there was barely enough meat for 3 small fajitas. My oldest daughter got the Enchilada Dinner and really enjoyed it. Great flavor! My Youngest Daughter got pancakes and bacon. Unfortunately, they bacon was a bit undercooked and rubbery and they forgot the syrup. We love to support local business and We have gone to the restaurant for years and have always enjoyed the food and service. So I am hoping this is just some of the early "bumps and bruises".“

“I have taken several people to this restaurant and it never disappoints. I especially love their burritos and their cheese dip.“

“This is an amazing restaurant! Came in by myself and just had an amazing lunch and the chips were so good reminded me of the old Chili’s chips and they were hot and so fresh! My waitress was just an absolute sweetheart! Will be back!“

“We have been here twice and the food has been great both times. I am picky about my Mexican food and this place is the real deal. Flavorful and not greasy. Prices are reasonable with good portions. Servers are friendly. The wait from ordering to plates on table was pretty quick. There is limited seating that's the reason for the 3 star rating on atmosphere, otherwise it is clean and pleasant.“

“Delicious seafood menu and testy margarita“

“The food is authentic and soooooooo good! I highly recommend! The mole, birria, mar y tierra and guancamole is 💯“

“The place before this was terrible but so glad they got new owners! The food is finally up to par and the restaurant has a very nice atmosphere. Great drinks as well! The Bahama mama is excellent! Five stars is only for a place that really knocks my socks off, so four is good.“

“Great authentic Mexican food. Delish! 😋“

“I’ve been managing restaurants for 20+ years. We had the pleasure of having Eric as our server. Eric was absolutely wonderful! Very very friendly and personable. The food is always great and they even have pina colada’s! Best Mexican food in Walled Lake, Commerce Twp, West Bloomfield, and Novi!“

“The food is authentic and soooooooo good! I highly recommend! The mole, birria, mar y tierra and guancamole is 💯“

“Great staff from the owners to the waitress. Egg sandwich was phenomenal. Patty Melt was something I will reorder. Going back to try more menu items. Thanks for the hospitality.“

“Great food every time and good portions! A regular in our house!“

“The best restaurant, excellent service, the food is delicious and they have the best margaritas in the town!!!! 100% recommend“

“Excellent service Food is traditional and delicious Staff is friendly and welcoming. Menu is impressive and prices are reasonable. Chicken fajitas are delicious, served with guacamole, rice and beans, $19.99 can feed two! Great meal“

“My daughter and I went on Cinco de Mayo and had a terrific time! The food was delicious, and the live entertainment was spectacular! The husband and wife duel were awesome! They did a great job with entertainment. They played a lot of fun songs. The wait staff was very friendly & efficient. Tt was very busy, and they still had a great attitude & were very nice! I highly recommend this restaurant! I had the chicken chimichanga and it was delicious, & my daughter's steak fajita was fabulous! We will definitely be back!!“

“Really yummy Margaritas!!!“

“I’m so lucky to live so close to this restaurant! My coworkers and I went here for lunch once last year and I loved the food so much, I come here all the time now. 😊💛“

“Everything. Especially the pancake tortillas.“

“Had a great time, and the food was great.“

“excellent food“

“The food was really good tonight and the drink will knock you off your feet but the heat was not working“

“Food great! Very friendly. Cramped dinning area (drafty) but clean. Small grocery store connected (Mexican foods).“

“From the UP… First time here! Great service and great food, A+++++ Ali, Jadyn and the rest of the staff were fast and took care of us! Definitely will make Driftwood Bar and Grill the place to go when traveling!“

“Just picked up my order today in the staff was incredibly friendly, prompt, and on top of their game. Appreciate their service and exponentially better than Chipotle from an overall experience standpoint woman behind the counter with the crazy Taco hat was great.“

“Our family stopped In there today to try for the first time. We had 2 Large steak burritos, 1 veggie burrito bowl and 2 churros. Food was amazingly good. The establishment was clean. The staff was friendly. All the food options looked and tasted fresh. Churros rocked. Heck I might stop in just for those alone. I would highly recommend this place over the large Corporate chain options out there. Hope these guys stay around for a long time“

“They came to our hosptial for nurses week. It was so good! Highly recommend and they did great with the large crowds 😊“

“Very unassuming location but Excellent Mexican food! Some of the best in Metro Detroit!“

“Poncho was amazing definitely ask for him when you go there. Great experience great service and great food!!!! Thanks again Poncho!!!“

“The staff was nice, but only 1 gal was running the whole counter. The lady standing by the cash register wouldn't even get sour cream and guacamole. I felt sorry for the one gal. I've worked at food places before and it's no fun to work alone. The next group that came in the cash register gal did assist with but like 7 people came in together.“

“The staff at livonia is a joke, just about everytime I go there I order the same thing yet, I pay a different price by a big difference, like a couple dollars, staff is under trained on how to properly ring items up or they just don't care, I'm leaning toward the later, it's ridiculous! Thankfully I can watch staff putting my order together, otherwise I would never come here.“

“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I had such a great experience at Qdoba today! The young lady who assisted me was extremely professional, helpful, and welcoming. Her personality was wonderful, and her customer service truly exceeded my expectations.

She made my visit enjoyable from beginning to end, and that kind of service deserves to be recognized. Five stars across the board! Thank you for providing such a positive experience!“
