“I absolutely love this place. I always make it there on a Friday night, for obvious reasons, LOL! The bartenders are a joy to be around, and really bring the atmosphere together. The beers are cheap, and the food is decent for bar food (I normally get the buffalo wrap or the steak bites). Mostly an older crowd, but everyone is there to have a good time and that’s what I always have! Can’t go wrong with a bucket of beer.“

“Anybody reading this, my mamaw was the barmaid there beginning in the 60s. Annie Ruth Ladd. They also lived above the bar for some time. My mother told me that she vividly remembers looking out the window and seeing the National guard going down Jefferson into Detroit. At that time, she was 9 years old. My mother grew up to work in the bar. Her name is Roseann or Rosie. I spent lots of my youth there, playing quarter machines. Rosie Also worked Square Deal. Y'all probably knew my papaw too his name was Jim Ray Boatwright and he was known in River Rouge as being one of the Town drunks lol God rest his soulCan't wait to stop in and reminisce!Also, if anybody knew my family or can share stories, please let me know. “The food here is a BIG step above every other bar in the area. First time we came here we got the chicken tenders + fries on a whim and they came out perfect. Huge, hand-breaded tenders with perfectly cooked, well-seasoned (thin) fries. We’ve been back like 30+ times since. PLEASE BRING BACK MANGO CART ON TAP for ‘26!“

Did get ample apologies from our waitress, and it's certainly not her fault...she did go inside, after seeing the mess on my plate...comped half the price, even with 3/4 left...oh well...thank you, I guess.“

“My daughter had her 8th birthday party here. I was seriously impressed. It is very clean and well kept! The staff was very attentive. I had to tack on, last minute, extra pizzas and pop because I had more show up than expected. The staff made it happen quickly, didn't miss a beat! They were very nice. Happy to help us. “This place is great. Order food ahead and pull through drive-through pick up or go in and grab. Food is same as dine in resturant but I swear costs less. Been probably 10 times and is always fast and good. We have had a couple problems with orders but the manager has gone above and beyond to make it right. Wish more places did business that way.“
