“My work has used them multiple times. Great prices, great food (loved the Salisbury steak, which normally is something I'm just ok with eating), generous portions. Looked into them to cater for our wedding, but they book up fast because they're soooooooo good.“

“Had been trying to go to Ernies for a while. Kept going and missing their hours. Finally, in the neighborhood right on time. We pull up, and you can tell it's a full house. My hubby isn't really patient, but he knows Ernies, and it'll be worth the wait. The line is wrapped around inside, 2 people creating sandwiches, everyone is chill, chatting....PATIENTLY. When you visit, don't be in a hurry. These sandwiches take time. He comes from the back, so jovial, warm, and welcoming. He chats with you, and you feel like you've known him forever. He used to give you Hershey kisses in your hand and asks.."Who loves you baby," of which my husband was looking for his chocolate. Had to remind him that this post Covid and things are different now. Fortunately, the amazing goodness of an Ernies sandwish isn't.“

“Never had a bad experience at old school deli. Very personal service. The food is great. The employees are great. It's always like sitting down with family. When you're there they come and sit with you and talk. They have time. If they don't, they just smile and say hello and serve other people. It's a great place to go. I highly recommend it“

“The nicest people ever work here. Always greeted with a smile and no matter how busy they are, they greet each customer. It's a small place with big food! I used to work in the area and stop in here whenever I'm back. I always get #31! It is by far the best veggie sandwich! It's the size of a football and is loaded with both Swiss and Monterey Jack cheese, cabbage, tomatoes, onions, lettuce, avocado, with thousand island dressing on an amazing, fresh baked focaccia! Their brownies are pretty tasty, too! (I forgot pictures - next time!)“

“Uncle Harry’s is the best deli on the East Side of metro Detroit with amazing deli food. It alsoHas style: photos of Harry and his family and famous visitors are all over. My favorite is the Donna (corned beef, pastrami, Swiss cheese and Russian dressing). Also love the pickles and the soup.“

“Went in for the house special which is a corn beef sandwich in St. Patrick’s day… it was delicious and the value is insane! 10$ sandwich and chips in 2024 is nearly unheard of, especially because I just had a comparable corn beef sandwich for 20$?!?!? Service was 5/5. The restaurant itself is extremely tired…. Doesn’t look like a deep clean has taken place in the last 6 months or so… 3/5 for that. Overall 4/5!Recommendation: skip the up-charge for fries… the homemade chips are way better!“

“Love the belly busters. For a long time I did a lot of work in the GP area. And Mr A's was always a must. Sure the price has gone way up(as everything has) but nothing beats a Winter's liver sausage belly buster with Hoffman super sharp and plain yellow mustard. The pizza is stupendous as well.“

I also asked about allergens such as peanuts, legumes, pea protein, etc. My fiance and I were impressed how careful they are with vegan sandwich preparation and cross-contamination. They handle everything separately and are very careful. My fiance has many food allergies, so we have to be careful! We also can’t eat out a lot because of this as well, so this was a treat for us. I was told on the phone since they serve vegan food “they have to do it right.”It was a first for both of us to eat vegan deli meat, and as a meat eater myself, I was impressed!If anyone is looking for vegan, allergen-conscious, and delicious sandwiches, this is the place to go. “Lots of choices on the menu for soups, sandwiches, salads, desserts. The beef barley soup was delicious! My companions had the Tomato-basil soup and they liked it very much. I had the roast beef french dip sandwich and it was good. It could gave used more beef on it, but the cheese and au jus were wonderful. My one friend had a grilled cheese sandwich and the other had a club style sandwich she was very happy with. Our sandwiches came with a pickle spear and a bag of chips. Lots of table to eat at, self serve drinks. I would recommend and will return.“

“Wow! With Easter coming up, thus is DEFINITELY the BEST pkace to get your Holiday Ham & Holiday Sausages! I'm not big on ham, but the Dearborn ham is the ONLY HAM I will ever eat! Very lean and can definitely taste the high quality product! The sausages are another grest option here! We love the special Holiday Kielbasa! Definitely the best sausages around. For summer we stop here to get the large packs of hot dogs for camping! Nothing that is even close! They also have the large diameter Dinner Frank's! Everytime we make them while camping, ppl always ask where we get then from!“

“I've been coming to this restaurant for over 20 years. The food is always delicious. They have the best corned beef around! So very tasty and also lean. Perfection! Oh! And the French Onion soup is amazing as well! The waitresses are always kind and efficient. I've tried many things on the menu over the years and I've never been disappointed. Thankfully they've kept their prices reasonable, as well. It's got a clean and cozy atmosphere and is well kept. “The day before thanksgiving day I came in as usual for sliced breasts. They didnt have any! First year ever and i was so bummed. They explained they were understaffed, yet they were all still so kind running around to get everything done for customers. They gave me what they had, which I was so appreciative of!
