“I had 5 broken teeth and 2 large abscesses and couldn't eat much of anything but was starving. I was looking for something soft to gum. Thinking tamales or beans and cheese. Of the options the flour tortilla beef birria seemed to be the best fit. I ordered those, a side of beans and, a side of consomme. Was amazing. Just on the edge of what I can tolerate heat wise (I am a wimp). Great taste. I used the consomme to make birria ramen for a later meal. (Just beef ramen, 2 sticks string cheese, and the consomme). It was also great, very satisfying.“

“Taco shells were not cooked and rice and beans were ice cold! Straight from the refrigerator! Called the Manager and he couldn’t be bothered to come to the phone! I sure won’t be back! There were no cars in the parking lot and no one in the restaurant and it was lunchtime! I should have known better. Don’t waste your time or your money at this dump! “I visited Nooch for lunch with my family for brunch this afternoon. The service was excellent (Our waitress, Cass, gave recommendations and checked in with us regularly throughout the visit) and the food was really good. “We came at 11pm on a busy Saturday night and we were seated almost immediately. It was a little loud but to be expected on late night weekend. For drinks I ordered the Friend of A Friend, 10/10 for sure. We ordered the garlic knots and got the grandma, pesto, and meatzza pizzas. The Pesto was definitely the star of the evening. Our server Paige was awesome and made us feel right at home. Would gladly come again.“

The owners of The Whitney have done so much to preserve this amazing estate in Detroit without any funding assistance from the government or grants.
