“Great hidden gem. Small location but big flavor! 3 of us went on a Saturday at 5pm and no wait. We ordered a miso soup, gyoza, Godzilla roll, volcano roll, tuna and avocado roll and tonkatsu ramen. Didn't wait long to receive our food. We all agreed it's one of the best sushi places in the area. Def give it a try. The portions were pretty big and worth the price. Online ordering and take out was also an option if you don't want to dine in!Vegetarian options: Your standard avocado and sweet potato options.Parking: Lots of open spots in the plazaWheelchair accessibility: There was 4 handicap parking spots right up front with a small inclined ramp to get in“
“I've lived in a lot of different places. They all have crappy buffets in common. Though there is no unique dishes here, they execute everything fairly well. All staff, including hibachi grill are very friendly. Will be coming here often.Update: *Still my go-to buffet for the area. I would love it if they had steam bun desserts, but that's my preference.Late lunch hours aren't great, but that's too be expected at a buffet during that time. Still, the staff are accommodating and understanding.Kid-friendliness: Proportionate kid prices by age group.“
“Seating available at lunch. Staff is friendly and welcoming. Buffet is well maintained food replaced before it is emptied.Parking: Located in Roger's Plaza, mall parking is free and plenty as not many stores left in this particular location.Wheelchair accessibility: Entrance is from the outside next to the mall entrance with ramp accessibility.“
“I was looking for an Asian restaurant in this area, and came upon Umi Sushi on Google maps. When I drove up to the building, it looked out of date... But don't judge a book by its cover! This place was lovely on the inside. Very open, and had rather zen decor and atmosphere. We also enjoyed the TVs displaying food items from their menu (what a great idea to get customers hungry, haha! It worked)Our waitress, Zippora, was wonderful!! She was very personable yet professional, and asked us at least twice while eating the meal, once during dessert how everything was. Granted, on a Sunday afternoon it wasn't too busy, but she had plenty of things to do and still did an excellent job attending to us.I mentioned before ordering that I had a gluten intolerance, and right away Zippora said she would be certain whatever I ordered would be made gluten free. She brought me GF soy sauce without me even asking! I haven't received such understanding from a waitress concerning allergies like this very often!(10/10 recommend the Bumblebee roll and the mango ice cream mochi. )Overall a fantastic experience, I look forward to a return trip!“
“This place has delicious food, and a very cool atmosphere. The service is a bit slow, but it makes sense 'cause their food is so good!Vegetarian options: I myself am vegetarian, and OMG their miso soup is so delicious!!!Kid-friendliness: Great for kids, every time I come here, I see at least two babies. They love sushi, I guess!“
“Vompliment yo the staff who were super curtious. Sorry I didn't catch her name, but your front counter staff was nice, ensures she heard our order correctly and even brought it out to the car while we waited. Service with a smile is just gosh darn awesome. Oh and the rolls were pretty fabulous too. I'll need to learn to expound my pallet to try some new flavors in the future.“
“Good options for veggie rolls that are delicious and not as expensive as other places around town. The space is very unassuming in the basement of McCay tower, but it's decorated nicely and the man who runs the place is friendly. Mark your selections on the piece of paper, get rung up, and food will be brought out to you. I love the aac, the sweet potato tempura, the house salad, and the hot green tea. Not sure if the kimchi rolls have fish sauce.“
“Rather expensive but the quality is there. In most cases an order that would contain two pieces of sushi (Nori) is reduced to one piece so the price in some cases is double. They offer unique rolls, but I stay away from most of them. My love of sushi does not include cream cheese or mayonnaise. There are less expensive options in town to be sure but Jaku offers consistent quality and freshness. A nice treat once in a while but too expensive for me to make it a regular. Again, there are better priced options.“
“We had a wonderful dinner, the food was great and our waitress was very sweet and attentive. She noticed I tried to make my daughter's chops sticks easier to use and brought me a piece of plastic that made the chopsticks kid friendly.Kid-friendliness: My daughter is well behaved and did very well it is a small restaurant so best to be respectful of others. But the staff was very sweet to my daughter.“
“Wow! Just wow! First of all I decided on sushi because I couldn’t seem to make up my mind on what I wanted to eat. Go figure right? And I am sooooo glad I got sushi! I ordered something simple that’s one of my fav since I’ve never been here. Let me tell you!!! The moment I took a bite from my salmon nigiri, the tenderness from the salmon was enhancing every delicious bite! I mean it just melted in my mouth! THEN! I had the salmon avocado roll. Simple yet so scrumptious! The rice was as fresh as Mr.Clean! The salmon was inticing with every bite of avocado, it’s like my mouth was just having a ton of food gasms because the quality was that amazing! We live in holland and this was definitely worth the drive for! 100/10 I recommend and will def try again.“
