“The people that are usually there alot, are pretty friendly. You dont feel like you have to watch your back thinking your going to get jumped by people. The people here actually probably would help you if you were in trouble or getting attacked. Only down fall is they have or used to have a bartender there(older, glasses, dark hair w moderate gray, noticed he drives a white ford) anyways every time we go in that he's working he's very rude and very unfriendly. He's definately not a people person which for a bartender that's part of the job. Unfortunately, I've walked out if he's working. I've come to find out that I'm not the only one that has done this. Otherwise if your older than 35, this would be the bar you would feel comfortable at. The drama is very minimal and the younger crowd usually doesnt go there.“
“Post pandemic improvements really made this a great spot for sports, drinks, dart and pool league as well as events with a space above the bar available for rental. Always good service and an owner who truly looks out for his patrons safety!“
“The enviroment at this establishment is fairly welcoming! After meeting with the owners--whom are very respectable-- I would highly recommend coming here to meet with this family owned eatery. The food here is phenomenal especially their chicken and waffles If I had had to rate this food I would give this a 9/10 the flavor combination is delicious and is unique! After tasting the burger and cheese curds I almost went to cloud 9! I would rate the cheese curds a 8.6/10 and the burger a 6/10. If I would rate this place I would have to say 10/10 highly recommend and I would come again!Kid-friendliness: The kiddos are welcomed!“
“I got the Peanut butter bacon burger, it was good but the patty seemed small. Person I was with had the gyro and really liked it.They also give a discount if paid in cash.Kid-friendliness: Is a bar also, but restaurant area is large enough and my kids enjoyed their breakfast.“
“With a friend from TX who said the flavors were authentic. Wonderful addictive very fresh chips. We both had a chicken burrito and either a chili relleno or tamal with beans and rice. Good tap beer selection. Wish we could've had a half pints.“
“What a hidden gem!! Pulled into the parking lot on a Thursday mid afternoon on our way to Giants Ridge. Lots of cars, good sign!! Went to the bar side and started with a Bloody Mary that was delicious with beef stick, olive and pickle. Got the 1/2 rack rib special that was fall off the bone fabulous! Also got the Lois, which was a hot beef sandwich with mashed potatoes and beef gravy, it too was very tasty!! Staff was very friendly!! Will definitely be back when we are up this way again!!“
“Ermagurd! I'm a wild rice soup critic and the server had mentioned the loaded potato soup was delicious too so I ordered both and both blew me away! And to totally mention the Asian sweet chili wings .. I'm a wing critic too they were perfectly crispy and that sauce man! If I can help it..I won't get my soup or wing fix anywhere else but the River Inn.. yummmm dude!“
“A cute, clean and fun country local pub with great people, bands and FABULOUS FOOD. Good specials. The best wings I have ever had and that is saying something. Philly Cheesesteak with au jus is hubby's favorite. Super good homemade pizza and lots more. You will not be disappointed in the food or the service.“
“Stopped in for lunch and a couple of cocktails..Table was clean, Chrissy the owner was waiting on me.Service was very good the food was even better.Big hand full of a hamburger,I ordered Tator tots they were done perfect and plentiful. Excellent lunch,I should have asked for a knife to cut that big burger. Will stop again...“
“This place is. Must stop when in Cloquet, this has got to be one of the coolest old bars around. The Fitgers memorabilia is amazing and the atmosphere of this very nicely restored building is fitting to its era. I have driven by this place so many times over the years, I kick myself now for not stopping sooner. The owners enjoy giving you the history of this amazing building. You have to stop and at least grab a drink if passing through Cloquet, MN. I assure you, you will be glad you did!“
