“I knew this Bar when it was The legion . I was pregnant when I first came to the legion.
Knew the owner in of the Pitstop. He was my neighbor at Hillside Gardens. He had pool tables once and Frenchy in is the Son who is owner. The have dart league. Good location for the Races, Enduros.. haven't been there since 96. Great place too. Right off the bus line.

“It's a good bar to hang out at. The bar tenders are pretty prompt to get you a drink. Thurs is free chicken wings from 3-6 and Fri is free pizza with the purchase of a beverage. They have bands Thurs through Saturday with a mix of rock and country. There is also lots of TVs for those sports fans as well as a football board.“

“Local Duluthian. This used to be a family favorite spot, it felt like a "Special" place to go. We rarely come here in recent years. The last few times its clear how run down this spot is becoming - you have such a great location, beautiful view of lake superior, tourist hot spot ... but its sad how run down its becoming, carpets, worn down booths. . . . Leaving this review to try encourage owners to put a little pride back into this restaurant and do Duluth Proud.“

“Fitger's is a very popular place that I learned about from my son-in-law who fishes in the area. I can only confirm what thousands of people already know. If you missed Fitger's, you missed Duluth. It has a couple of hundred years of family owned tradition and holds to a high standard in preparing food and brewing beer. Fitger's is adjacent to the boardwalk along Lake Superior and a short distance from the Duluth trading company.“

“Stopped in for an early dinner. We and another table of customers waited for over 10 minutes to be waited on while the bartender was busy drinking beer while she was working, not impressed. We ordered two burgers with fries. The burgers were great the bun however, was dry and chewy I would suggest switching to a brioche type with better flavor. The pricing is actually great and it is worth it to be there during their 3 to 6 Hapoy Hour. We will give it another try when in the area as it's a convenient stop!“

“Weakest drink of homegrown, having ordered the exact same thing everywhere I went. Having been a bartender for years myself I’d suggest some training for the staff. Doesn’t need to be extra strong, just adequate. You should taste the liquor.

Service was totally fine on a busy night. Kudos to the staff. I’m sure it was stressful.

My husband had some of Fitger’s own brews, while I was happy to get a Wild State Cider. We shared pretzel sticks, which were hot, soft, and delicious. “The best Chicken Caesar Salad I’ve ever had! Period. End of story. (except please keep reading) I’m so happy I got to talk to the mastermind behind this dish (Brandon knows what he is doing!!!), because I wouldn’t normally order this salad. I usually find Caesar salads to be bland and boring. Not this one! Smoked bacon (made in house), croutons (made in house), plus a Caesar dressing that compliments instead of overpowering the salad - yes, again made in house. Then Brandon explained how he makes the chips in house (I won’t try to explain it, because I won’t do it justice), but just know that it is like a chip and a waffle fry had a baby, and these chips are the wonderful, delicious outcome ~ light, but flavorful! A must order!!! The cherry on top was the great service. Cathy was a fabulous bartender and server! She was welcoming from the moment I sat down, and was attentive, without being overbearing. She also made great cocktails! Overall, The Shack was a wonderful experience, and I look forward to coming back on a weekly bases while in town for work. They apparently had a rough go during Covid, but Brandon (& others) have been working tirelessly to improve things, and I’m definitely impressed! I recommend you give them a try as well!“

“The only thing I don't like about this place is that when you pay with a card and leave a cash tip they will go back and make you tip again on your card. This last time I went there I had a margarita and the fish fry special on 8/28/26. I paid with my venmo card for the balance and left a tip on the counter. Sooooo not cool. I go there quite regularly and this is not cool.“
