“I knew this Bar when it was The legion . I was pregnant when I first came to the legion.
Knew the owner in of the Pitstop. He was my neighbor at Hillside Gardens. He had pool tables once and Frenchy in is the Son who is owner. The have dart league. Good location for the Races, Enduros.. haven't been there since 96. Great place too. Right off the bus line.

“It's a good bar to hang out at. The bar tenders are pretty prompt to get you a drink. Thurs is free chicken wings from 3-6 and Fri is free pizza with the purchase of a beverage. They have bands Thurs through Saturday with a mix of rock and country. There is also lots of TVs for those sports fans as well as a football board.“

“Local Duluthian. This used to be a family favorite spot, it felt like a "Special" place to go. We rarely come here in recent years. The last few times its clear how run down this spot is becoming - you have such a great location, beautiful view of lake superior, tourist hot spot ... but its sad how run down its becoming, carpets, worn down booths. . . . Leaving this review to try encourage owners to put a little pride back into this restaurant and do Duluth Proud.“

“Fitger's is a very popular place that I learned about from my son-in-law who fishes in the area. I can only confirm what thousands of people already know. If you missed Fitger's, you missed Duluth. It has a couple of hundred years of family owned tradition and holds to a high standard in preparing food and brewing beer. Fitger's is adjacent to the boardwalk along Lake Superior and a short distance from the Duluth trading company.“

“Last night the Buffalo House hosted our company Christmas Party. I can’t find the words to tell you how amazing it was! All of our guests are still raving about the food today! It was delicious, timely, and there was plenty! Our bartender was so fun, and made the night even better. The facility is beautiful! “It's a great bar and grill with great food, plenty of beers to choose from and a big menu. We stopped in on a Sunday evening about 7 pm and were welcomed and seated right away. Food came quickly and Todd, the owner, came to check on us several times to see if he could get us anything. We love these small town bar and grills and this one is exceptional! Very clean and well managed. Highly recommend!“

“Weakest drink of homegrown, having ordered the exact same thing everywhere I went. Having been a bartender for years myself I’d suggest some training for the staff. Doesn’t need to be extra strong, just adequate. You should taste the liquor.

Service was totally fine on a busy night. Kudos to the staff. I’m sure it was stressful.

“This is an easy going chill bar. It has cleaned up a bit since my last visit. Still a dive but, I like dives. The patrons seem to be a tich older than the crowd at Ds. No kitchen there so dont come hungy. There is a McDonalds around the block though.“

“Historic brewery in Duluth. It is buried inside the old brewery which now hosts several businesses. The tap room is in the old barrel room which is a great environment for having a beer or two. If you have a big group they have some overflow space.

On my stop they had 8 of their beers on tap including: an apricot wheat, starfish pale ale, an American lager, oatmeal stout, hazy IPA, sour dragonfruit, another lager and a dunkle that is really quite good. Everything is pretty good but nothing really blew my mind. They do serve food in the barrel room which is great. Service is good and they have a full bar for those less inclined to breweries. Stop and have a good time.“

He went out of his way to help us, we bought a large quantity of alcohol and he treated us right!! I mean he was truly awesome!! “The best Chicken Caesar Salad I’ve ever had! Period. End of story. (except please keep reading) I’m so happy I got to talk to the mastermind behind this dish (Brandon knows what he is doing!!!), because I wouldn’t normally order this salad. I usually find Caesar salads to be bland and boring. Not this one! Smoked bacon (made in house), croutons (made in house), plus a Caesar dressing that compliments instead of overpowering the salad - yes, again made in house. Then Brandon explained how he makes the chips in house (I won’t try to explain it, because I won’t do it justice), but just know that it is like a chip and a waffle fry had a baby, and these chips are the wonderful, delicious outcome ~ light, but flavorful! A must order!!! The cherry on top was the great service. Cathy was a fabulous bartender and server! She was welcoming from the moment I sat down, and was attentive, without being overbearing. She also made great cocktails! Overall, The Shack was a wonderful experience, and I look forward to coming back on a weekly bases while in town for work. They apparently had a rough go during Covid, but Brandon (& others) have been working tirelessly to improve things, and I’m definitely impressed! I recommend you give them a try as well!“
