“Local Duluthian. This used to be a family favorite spot, it felt like a "Special" place to go. We rarely come here in recent years. The last few times its clear how run down this spot is becoming - you have such a great location, beautiful view of lake superior, tourist hot spot ... but its sad how run down its becoming, carpets, worn down booths. . . . Leaving this review to try encourage owners to put a little pride back into this restaurant and do Duluth Proud.“

“Blackwoods catered my son’s wedding yesterday. Overall we would recommend them, but there were a few glitches. The tablecloths we picked up from them the day before the wedding were the wrong size and, despite being sealed in plastic, there were quite a few set in stains. I phoned and left a message about the issue, and no one bothered to return my call. Not a promising start. On the day of the wedding, the staff arrived on time, and everything was set up and ready to go as planned. For the most part the food was good, but the ham was awful. It was tough and the pieces were cut into huge chunks, many of which were full of fat and gristle. We had people who normally love ham refusing to eat it. Since it was one of the main dishes, the ham was a huge disappointment, especially for the money paid. The turkey, however, was moist and tasty. The staff members were helpful and professional. They willingly boxed up leftovers for the wedding couple, which was much appreciated, and they left the church kitchen clean.“

“Best liquor store in the Twin Ports for whisky and beer. I'm sure the wine selection is the best too, but I don't want nuthin' to do with that. I also can get my Laguinitas Hop Water and Liquid Death consistently here.If you want it, Keyport has it...or they can order it. I always reach out on Facebook messenger to the Keyport page and someone usually replies and tells me that they "ordered it, be here Tuesday." If you run into Nick there, he'll give you some great recommendations, too.Let's talk about the whisky and bourbon selection here. INSANE. They consistently get Buffalo Trace (it's still gone the same day they get it), including my prize 1.75 liter for a STEAL. And then there's Chris, who helped me get my hands on my first bottle of Eagle Rare. This review isn't about Eagle Rare, but let's say that it lives up to the hype for me...and is the best bourbon I've had to date. Thanks Chris...you are the man. “Absolutely divine! The prime rib was perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor, while the Italian penne diablo was a spicy, savory delight. Exceptional dining experience from start to finish; the lake view and quick/attentive service made it even better.“

“OMC!! OMG!! They really can Smoke!!What a find! It pays to read reviews, as this restaurant is off the chart. I travel a lot, and it is about flavor, ambiance, customer service, and food variety. This restaurant has it all. The menu is BBQ based with some unique twist. I showed up for the White Alabama BBQ sauce I have been wanting to try. It was fantastic. I could put that sauce on everything. But their other sauces were very flavorful. My server (Sarah F) was great. She was very informative and gave history on each of the foods I asked about. And as a Arnold Palmer connoisseur, OMC had a great spin on their Arnie Palmer. They a spearmint Infused Hibiscus version, which represented a Winnie Palmer, and a fresh organic black tea version for Mr. Palmer. Absolutely delicious. and bottomless. The Jalapena Brisket Popper were outstanding. very unique and a great twice. Their 2 flame warning is really not hot at all. The BBQ meat platter with 2 sides was fantastic. The bark on the Ribs, was nice, but I really liked the thin layer of fat on the brisket. It made it moist and full of flavor with the White Bama Sauce. Yeah Baby!! Jalapena Grits and sweet Potato bake as the bomb. I even had their chocolate whoopi cake for dessert. One suggestion OMC, put a few more south desserts on the menu to round it out. Overall great meal, Great service by Sarah F, the ambience was comfortable and relaxed. Couple of notes, the restaurant charges a 5% kitchen staff charge, which is worth every penny. As well as a 3.5% charge for non-cash transaction which is the cost restaurants now have to incur. All worth it. OMC, thank you for letting me spend my one and only evening meal with in Duluth. “This is my favorite Texas Roadhouse to visit. The staff are amazing. The managers are friendly and they are so helpful with my allergies. I’ve never gotten sick there, which is saying something because I get sick almost every place I eat out. They are so helpful with answering my questions. If they don’t know the answer right away, they help me figure it out. I can’t recommend them enough. The service was quick and the food was perfect.“

“A great little old fashioned restaurant. The ambience will bring you back to the olden days. Even if you're 25! I've been here quite a few times and I'll get this out of the way first. It's cash only. No cards, no checks, no Venmo, etc. There is an ATM available for the unprepared. I've been here mostly for breakfast and what a fine breakfast they have! Menu isn't very deep for choices but enough to keep even the most picky satisfied. Nothing I've ordered has ever been sub par. Always to my satisfaction and delicious from first bite to last! “Been here a few times before, so not sure why I'm just now leaving a review but hey better late than never. There's a reason why this place is packed on a Sunday morning, and that's because they know how to make delicious food. Our guy's weekend group came here for a late breakfast before heading home and boy they were thankful I made the suggestion with one fella saying it was the best breakfast he's had out to eat in a long time. Nothing is ever bad here. Service is fast & friendly, prices are terrific for the portions, the food is always delicious and the atmosphere is exactly what you'd want out of a small ma & pa cafe.“

“In our early morning travels we were looking for a place to eat breakfast. Our large family stopped right as they were opening. Cook and waiter were friendly, the place was clean, coffee hot and fresh, the food was homemade, made from scratch. Best cornbeef hash, omelet's and biscuits and gravy! We would have stopped for dinner on our way home, but they were already closed for the day. 5 stars from our entire family!“

“Fresh, local and friendly. The seasonal menu is always tasty! We had the “rotating roll”which was a savory biscuit with braised beef, pickled jalapeño and cheddar- absolutely delicious! The pork verde fry bread came in at a close second- to be clear, they were both neck and neck for flavor. Our server was an absolute delight and only added to our wonderful experience.“

“Cute restaurant. We stopped by here for breakfast. Everything was fine overall. We even got an iced latte. Quite pricey for their portions on certain dishes unfortunately. Their eggs benedict come with a small cup of fruits for $16-17. Not filling. Didn’t think it was worth that much, but rather $10-12 since the benedicts were kinda basic. We have had eggs benedict many other places and they were better and less pricey. We’d probably come back to try other items though.“

“My husband and I got married here on 9/22/2023 and we couldn't have imagined a better venue!! Everything was exactly as we'd pictured when we were planning! The pricing was very fair as well!The staff were incredible to work with; They were friendly, kind, and always ready to help out with anything we needed. They were also incredibly efficient when turning the main floor over from the ceremony to the reception!THE FOOD IS SO GOOD!!! We still have some of our guests reaching out to us to talk about how amazing the food was. We had a double sided buffet, which made the line go by significantly faster. There was even enough food for a good number of our guests to get more of certain items!The management team was also outstanding! In the months leading up to our wedding they were always one phone call or email away, and were very prompt in their response. Tonight I had their catch of the day which was the honey hot salmon - cooked to perfection with a delicious glaze of hot honey to spice it up. “Love this place! The food was wonderful. We started off with the Tempura Fried Cauliflower. I loved the aioli sauce, and the whole dish was very tasty. We both ordered the Coconut Curry Rice Bowl with Chicken and it was sublime. I practically licked the bowl it was so good! We ordered a bottle of cabernet, which was decent but not great. Of course, after the first glass, it tasted just fine. :) For dessert we shared a very dense and very delicious piece of chocolate cake with whipped cream. So good! Definitely a place to come back to!Vegetarian options: Probably 75% of the menu appeared to be vegetarian or vegan. But everything we tried was delicious.Dietary restrictions: There were a lot of vegetarian and vegan options, also dishes that were gluten free.Parking: It's in downtown Duluth so parking can be iffy depending on when you go.“

“We hosted an event here for roughly 60-70 people. Lilli was amazing to work with in planning the event, she made it seamless and very easy to get everything organized. The night of the event staff was all very helpful and friendly. Guests raved about the food quality and choices that were selected. I cannot recommend this team and venue enough!“

“My husband and I were at the Canal Park location for brunch today for the first time and will be back as the staff was easily able to adjust for my personal tastes ( I HATE eggs) as well as service being timely. The only complaint I have is that my iced tea tasted like coffee, what I like to call “cofftea”. Whomever is in charge of brewing the tea should not be running the hot water through the coffee maker as the oils from the coffee end up in the tea making the tea taste bad.“

“LOVE Julie’s! The food is priced right and they serve breakfast all day. We made it to Julie’s for the morning crowd and it was lovely to see the obvious relationship between the staff and folk coming in.I got the shipwreck skillet and it was delicious. I also got a side of pancakes and I feel like that was the cherry on top of a delicious & classic breakfast. My husband got the chicken fried steal and of course I snuck a bite. So, I’m happy to let you know that the chicken fried steak was good as well.The staff is super kind and every time we come in they are joyful and polite. The restaurant is decorated with cute lil knick knacks that are fun to look at.Overall, I’m just impressed with the place and will be coming back again & again.Kid-friendliness: We brought my infant with us and the staff interacted with him and we had no issues while eating in the restaurant with him.“

“Went to eat on fish fry night with family and had to stand until seats opened up. Fish was nice and not too hard, rather flaky. Most tables are high top. They do have handicap ramp but not a great seat up inside for it. They often have live music. My suggestion to the owners though is make the parking lot more than earth either gravel or pavement, also add more light at night. I'm glad my rents didn't slip on the icy mud and unseen ruts.Parking: Ruddy earth parking but big. Muddy when wet.Wheelchair accessibility: Have a ramp but most of the tables are high top.“

“For me, this is the best place to go in Canal Park. The beers are excellent and so is the food, staff, atmosphere, gift shop and everything else about it. I can't wait to go back on my next trip to Duluth, hopefully with better weather to enjoy the outdoor seating by the lake/boardwalk.“

“The enviroment at this establishment is fairly welcoming! After meeting with the owners--whom are very respectable-- I would highly recommend coming here to meet with this family owned eatery. The food here is phenomenal especially their chicken and waffles If I had had to rate this food I would give this a 9/10 the flavor combination is delicious and is unique! After tasting the burger and cheese curds I almost went to cloud 9! I would rate the cheese curds a 8.6/10 and the burger a 6/10.
