“Got there near closing and they served us anyway. Nice staff and bartender. Drinks were great. Food was very hot and yummy. It's a sports bar but we watched Family Guy.As I said it's a sports bar so don't overthink it. Very casual. Nice place to just unwind and lean back.“
“We accidentally found this place driving around with hungry kids in Duluth. I am so glad we did! The atmosphere and food were wonderful. Great view of the lake in a gorgeous historic building. The food was wonderful. The burgers, onion rings, and fries were so good. Even food from the kids menu was delicious and not prepackaged.“
“We absolutely loved the OMC Smokehouse! The food was magnificent!I had catfish, my husband had the shrimp & grits, my daughter had the brisket.Everything was hot, fresh, and tasted great. Loved the beef fries too. Instead of chips or bread, they give you pork rinds before the food is ready. There are 4 different sauces at your table and my fish came with another sauce (can't remember the names). They were delicious as well. The only complaint I had was that the side order of ribs didn’t seem like it was fresh. All in all, OMC Steakhouse was by far our favorite restaurant. We will definitely be eating here again on our next visit to Duluth.Oh, the staff were very friendly and helpful.“
“It was our very first time here. Came in shortly before closing on a Wednesday night so it was relatively slow. Coney's and fries were good and the malt was amazing! Lucas and his coworker were very kind and helpful. Super friendly! Great atmosphere almost like an old diner with a more modern feel. And I loved the large Edmund Fitzgerald posters! Definitely recommend and we'll be back.“
“Recent new owners. Fabulous food. King/Queen prime rib too, featured Friday. Beautiful setting on Little Cloquet R. headwaters. Burgers, soups, salads, drinks....everything we tried was top notch. Excellent fresh deep well water. Everything comes together here for the perfect dining and tavern style experience. Outdoor band on hand tonight. Great time, thanks again everyone.PS. That earlier 1 * review by John was most certainly the previous owners, so take that review with a grain of salt. Owners now are NOT the same owners as 2 years ago. Check dates on the reviews.“
“It’s been a while since I’ve been here, I’m talking like 10 years or so.Ordered a pickup order and was amazed at just how well they did with everything. The pickup counter streamlined everything, they took exceptional care of my food.I got a chicken mushroom sandwich and they did not put the chicken on the bun but instead wrapped the chicken in tinfoil to keep the chicken warm and the bun from getting soggy.Nearly a 30 min drive home and my food was warm and fresh like it had just been brought to my table. Thanks Texas Roadhouse“
“Really good place, especially for pub food. Fries were great, burger was excellent. It was a lot of food, so if there were smaller portions, you could probably order less -- but really excellent burgers and fries.Nice vibe as well. Not too loud and not too packed on top of one another.“
“Went for a lovely brunch with my daughter a couple weeks ago. The food was amazing and such a huge portion. The Minnesota Mimosa was so flavorful. I loved that they also had some toys my kiddo could play with at the table. Staff was super friendly.“
“One of my very favs in Duluth! Everything is great, but the pancakes are my personal fav. You're going to get A LOT of food, and the pancakes are literally the size of your head! It's a far west Duluth favorite, so be prepared to wait, have patience, and tip your staff well!“
“Absolutely wonderful experience every time we go there, even when it's a full on dinner rush! Service is stellar, food is absolutely amazing! Tonight I had their catch of the day which was the honey hot salmon - cooked to perfection with a delicious glaze of hot honey to spice it up. And I can't not mention their fresh baked rolls and buns, they are incredible!“
“After having multiple places to choose from. We are so happy that we picked ULC. You seat yourself. The service was amazing and the food was delicious. You can purchase one of the t-shirts or a coffee mug. We did one of each. We hadGreen eggs and ham omelette with hashbrown and a pancake.Gyro scramble with hashbrowns and French toast.Biscuits and gravySteak and eggsBe hungry and bring some home. Definitely the place to go while you’re in Duluth. They do close at 1pm so I suggest going early. We were so hungry we forgot to take photos.“
“We went to Blackwaters after a REA3D event. It was extremely busy, yet Hannah was attentive, kind and delightful. Hannah took great care ensuring that we were well taken care of and checked in on us frequently (even though she was busy). We so appreciated Hannah. I have consistently had excellent service with great servers and wonderful beverages and food. I love Blackwaters! Thank you!“
“Lake Ave is my family’s go-to spot when we’re celebrating something or just feeling a little fancy on any particular day. I had the steam buns back in December (celebrating holiday break kick-off) and I haven’t stopped thinking about them since. My family was thrilled to see them on the menu when we visited this past weekend (feeling a little fancy on a Saturday). We’ve been many times — I guess we like to celebrate/feel fancy — and we always leave content. Portions are always just right, presentation is supreme, the service is top notch, and despite some low key fancy vibes, it is very much a “come as you are” type of place.I love the menu changes that are made periodically, as it highlights the creativity of the chef and the Lake Ave team. This is especially true for their vegan options (pot pie is ?, steam buns are dream-worthy). This is a feel-good establishment and I am so glad to have them nearby.“
“What a delightful experience. Dinner before seeing a show at the Duluth Playhouse/NorShor Theater. Very upbeat vibe, great cocktails, and a small but amazing menu. Very unique entree preparations that were fresh and tasty. The Vegan Scallops were the most surprising and a must try if you love scallops and/or mushrooms! Highly recommend this establishment.“
“Honestly, it is the best place ever since we visited here in Duluth. Food was phenomenal! Our server was Evan, and he was amazing. I had some food allergies and had specific questions and he did an amazing job and went and doubled checked for me. They also have a lot of options for vegetarian and vegan options , and that alone made it amazing. The atmosphere was super calm and nice and again food and service was phenomenal!“
“A truly one of a kind experience. One of the best restaurants I’ve been to as far as every aspect of dining goes. Scenery, ambiance, service, food, and everything in between.I sat at the waiting area to dine as the host said it was an option and it was just me so I didn’t want to keep a whole table for myself when there were groups waiting. Lauren the host was really fantastic and friendly which made for a great experience regardless of where I sat. That food though. Generous portions without compromising exceptional quality.I will certainly be back.“
“We went here to try their All You Can Eat Friday Night Fish fry as we heard it was very good and sells out fast. All of which is true. You get plenty of fish as a starter, yummy cole slaw, and the thin style french fries. You can ask for more fish if you have tummy room. The fish itself is lightly battered, and large filets are used. By the time we were done with our dinner, they were sold out.Get there early... they start serving at 5pm. We will definitely have this again.Parking: The parking lot is a fair size, but it could get crowded on a busy night.Kid-friendliness: Kids are welcome, and there are a few kid type games for them to play.Wheelchair accessibility: There is a wheelchair ramp in the back of the bar, but if someone parks in front of it, it could be hard to access it.“
“Awsome breakfast. Great atmosphere. We wre here at 8:30 on a Sunday. There was one t.v. at the bar scrolling bible scriptures. Also the service was impecable attention was not lacking in the least bit. I must have been asked 5 times if I wanted more coffie.“
“Sammy's pizza is a local legend for a reason.Because this pizza is LEGENDARY!Sure, there are gobloads of good pizza choices in the Northland, and it's always fun to try the rest, but you'll always come back to the best. SAMMY'S!Parking: Ampke near the door free parming.“
“When I walked in, I was like, "Whoa, this place is huge!" The drinks are awesome, especially the mango lemonade – it's a total game-changer. I went for the buffalo chicken Mac and cheese, and man, it was so good. The mix of flavors just hit the spot. Overall, it's a cool spot with plenty of space, tasty drinks, and food that won't disappoint. Totally worth checking out!“
“First visit here and will be back! Food was very good. We had bacon cheeseburger pizza, gluten free spinach, olive and sausage pizza, meatball sandwich, and a cobb salad with grilled chicken. All were delicious. Lots of menu choices and dessert, which we did not partake in. Beer and wine choices, very good service, and nice decor.“
“Our server Katelyn tonight was fantastic. She was super attentive and was full of personality. She had a full section and still made sure our drinks were full at all times. I come to Boomtown quite often and this was definitely my best experience yet! Keep up the good work!“
“Went to eat on fish fry night with family and had to stand until seats opened up. Fish was nice and not too hard, rather flaky. Most tables are high top. They do have handicap ramp but not a great seat up inside for it. They often have live music. My suggestion to the owners though is make the parking lot more than earth either gravel or pavement, also add more light at night. I'm glad my rents didn't slip on the icy mud and unseen ruts.Parking: Ruddy earth parking but big. Muddy when wet.Wheelchair accessibility: Have a ramp but most of the tables are high top.“
“I had a blast at the Gopher ...I loved listening to Russel Sackett sing .....he was amazing .. beautiful voice killer songs from the 70s ...it was amazing .... Going back to see him....owner Steve was really cool And available to talk ...and our waitress the beautiful Amanda was beyond phenomenal ....the food was fantastic ..never a disappointment ....had a blast ??♥️“
“Private party, so bar was closed off to public. Bartenders worked their tail off & still friendly and fast. We were 3rd & 4th person in line for food, which oddly was cold. Mashed potatoes were good but no gravy, butter, or anything (strange) to put on them. They did off barbecue sauce “
“Great spot up the shore. Unique menu all deliciously prepared. We were there for dinner. Would recommend reservations. Don't be in a rush. The service was top notch but this is not the type of restaurant/experience where you are going to get in/get out. I didn't see any kids under teen age just for reference.“
“We had a fabulous lunch at Clyde's today. Two of us ordered the pork sandwich and I had the BEST smoked salmon salad i've ever had. The sandwiches were great, too. Great industrial vibe, superior service (shout out to Sam, our server), and super good food - we will be back!“
“The food here was amazing. It came quick. My friends kid had an accident and threw up on the table. Our server, Wyatt, was very kind and understanding. He brought a mop and rags, cleaned, sanatized. He told us it happens more than you think and it was absolutely no problem. Thank you for the food and for being so kind.“
“Staff is overworked, underpaid, and under stafed. The guy that served us had already worked his shift for the day and was pulling another shift. He was the only server and was running around all over the place. He did an amazing job. Perkins is hiring for all positions.“
“We played 18 holes on a Friday afternoon in the fall. Prior to starting the round, we received a brief education from the course superintendent about the style of the course's creator, Mr. Donald Ross. Optical illusions abound on the course: a few infinity greens with some holes playing longer than they appear while others played shorter. Putting requires an accurate read with a deft touch, even on a wet fall day that reminded us of rounds played along Oregon's Pacific Coast. The course's ranking by Golf Digest as one of Minnesota's best is well earned.“
“I haven been in tapa keg inn since 1988. My friend June J said she has been a customer here for a long time. The waitress Tiffany was very pleasant and I had the meatloaf sandwich and apple pie and raspberry tea. Very good thanks for great cooking. Shef . Ave to come back to try your liver meal.Enjoyed your friendly business.“
“Every time we come to Duluth we stop here. It’s one of our favorites! Whoever decorated this restaurant did an outstanding job and I wish they could come decorate my house. The service is outstanding every time. The food is consistent and delicious. You can tell the food is homemade and not just frozen. The Reuben and chicken fingers are our favorites but the French onion soup, cheese curds, and salads are great too! Give Lyric some love and try them out!“
“Sue is always full of warmth and love ready to spark up conversation. Her Gyros taste like a true traditional fresh shaved gyro. Every can of soda pop is ice cold. Her little corner is always clean and buzzing with chatter. 9/10 times I will take my kids here after shopping for a coney dog, per THEIR request. It's just THAT good.“
“We were there for dinner and my hearing aid batteries went dead so I took them out and put them in my jacket pocket. When I got home (100 miles away) one was missing. I called and they said they would look for it. 10 minutes later they called me and said they had found it. They offered to mail it to me and 3 days later I had it back!! I can't thank them enough for their great service!! The food was great also!!! Thank you Grandma's staff!!!☺️☺️☺️. Mark N. Ogilvie“
“I love visiting this restaurant specifically to sit at the bar during happy hours to enjoy their half off appetizers and drinks specials. I'm addicted to their Bahama Mama's cocktail and their chicken wonton tacos. Not failing to mention that their staff is absolutely awesome and exceeds expectations of anyone's standards.“
“Sorry, we have not eaten at the chalet, but it is so convenient for going skiing at Spirit Mountain. We noticed the other day almost every table was filled & our friend ordered a delicious wrap there. The chalet has many tables in an area away from thd restaurant, and big picture windows to view the ski hill. A woman in a wheel chair was sitting near thd windows & enjoyed watching the skiiers. I believe the lower challenge has better menu items and a nicer dining area to sit in.Parking: There are handicapped parking spaces, but an uphill climb to the challet on a cement sidewalk. A person in a wheelchair would need some assistance.Wheelchair accessibility: Yes, easy to get around with handicapped accessible bathrooms within the challet. Automatic door openers.“
“Service was a little spotty, but once we got a server he was very attentive and kind.A little pricey for lunch but would be great for a nice dinner. There was a good variety on the menu and they had a separate gluten free options menu but it was a bit lacking.Dietary restrictions: There is a seperate gluten free menu and maybe a seperate vegan menu. The menu is labeled well as far as allergens. To me, it didn't seem like there were a lot of options for gluten free on the special menu unless you modified a dish on the regular menu“
“TeJay waited on our group of 4 and was very attentive throughout our visit. I had a special request and I truly felt TeJay listened to my request and came prepared in case the dish wasn’t to my liking. I’ve never had another server be so proactive before. Kudos TeJay!!!!!“
“I had a tuscan chicken pizza on a cauliflower crust (no cheese) - it was a delight. So glad that my dietary preferences can be accomodated.Dietary restrictions: I am dairy free, gluten free and was happy to be able to enjoy something other than a salad at a pizza place.“
“Always a great experience. Staff is friendly and attentive. Very pleased there is a separate vegan menu with great options. Real vegan entrees not just an impossible burger but well thought out entrees with great flavors and "meat" alternatives. Ask for the vegan menu. Other vegetarian items are clearly marked on the regular menu. Thnx for having great vegan options.“
“Best specialty dessert I ever had. Can't remember the name it was a "special" it's not on the regular menu but it should be! It was a moist, sweet, delicious cake with fresh cream and berries. Oh my goodness could have been in a fancy French bakery it was the BEST! The food wasn't too shabby either! A little spendy yet well worth it for a special occasion! This is a very special place with great servers and awesome chefs!“
“We started out with the Famous Onion Rings which where huge and so crispy when they brought them out!! I got the Original Bicycle Burger and added bacon lettuce and tomato to it because it doesn't come with the lettuce and tomato and my husband got the Steak Cheese French Sandwich and both were amazing!! Took home leftovers and had dinner that night and still tasted great after heating it up in the toaster oven!!! I'm telling you so much food even my husband had to finish my leftovers lol ?“
“Lots of great selections, delicious drinks, and a cozy atmosphere. The additional fees added to the bill for tipping the kitchen staff and paying with a card were a bit ridiculous considering the prices for the dishes were high already. It shouldn’t be patrons responsibility to pay your employees properly.“
