“Fitger's is a very popular place that I learned about from my son-in-law who fishes in the area. I can only confirm what thousands of people already know. If you missed Fitger's, you missed Duluth. It has a couple of hundred years of family owned tradition and holds to a high standard in preparing food and brewing beer. Fitger's is adjacent to the boardwalk along Lake Superior and a short distance from the Duluth trading company.“

“Weakest drink of homegrown, having ordered the exact same thing everywhere I went. Having been a bartender for years myself I’d suggest some training for the staff. Doesn’t need to be extra strong, just adequate. You should taste the liquor.

Service was totally fine on a busy night. Kudos to the staff. I’m sure it was stressful.

“This is a cozy, dark pub spot for when you don’t need a full, varied menu. We popped in during a Saturday evening. My husband had some of Fitger’s own brews, while I was happy to get a Wild State Cider. We shared pretzel sticks, which were hot, soft, and delicious. Great cheese dip, too, with a perfectly thick texture that stayed on the bread. The room is pretty small but wasn't obnoxiously noisy; we had no trouble conversing.“

Had a delicious burger for lunch and ladies with a mildly irritated attitude were holding the place down, yet they made sure I felt welcomed. It was was like being in my grandma's kitchen. Quiet during the day, but judging by the band stage setup they have I'm willing to bet it gets a bit rowdier on the weekends.

“Sorry, we have not eaten at the chalet, but it is so convenient for going skiing at Spirit Mountain. We noticed the other day almost every table was filled & our friend ordered a delicious wrap there. The chalet has many tables in an area away from thd restaurant, and big picture windows to view the ski hill. A woman in a wheel chair was sitting near thd windows & enjoyed watching the skiiers. I believe the lower challenge has better menu items and a nicer dining area to sit in.

Parking: There are handicapped parking spaces, but an uphill climb to the challet on a cement sidewalk. A person in a wheelchair would need some assistance.

Wheelchair accessibility: Yes, easy to get around with handicapped accessible bathrooms within the challet. Automatic door openers.“

“It is the local can’t miss restaurant, whether you’re thinking a nice sit down steak dinner, or a quick burger and fries in a more casual setting this place has it all and has done it for decades. Great view of Lake Superior, cool model train running through the building… if you’re local you already know, if you’re a tourist add it to the must eat list.“

“After a robust morning and afternoon of hiking around the North Shore, decided to try this place on a whim with some minor research between articles and Reddit recommendations to find a place to eat before heading back home to the Twin Cities- needless to say I feel like I've discovered a delicious staple that we'll happily come back to in our future visits to or through Duluth.
There was construction going on with the streets up there but it just added to the adventure (and honestly going anywhere in Duluth it's not going to be a cake walk).

Great food with a unique menu and great service! It wasn't too busy nor not long of a wait. I do like the fact you get house made salsa with your food as like a side dish. We tried the Ding nachos, deep fried burrito and a smash burger- all of everything was delicious!“
