“We had breakfast here. My husband ordered the special, homemade corned beef hash and eggs with homemade toast. I had steak and eggs with hash browns and homemade toast. It's been a few years since I've cleaned my plate and I definitely did here. Literally the best hash browns I've ever had. Over easy eggs were perfect for dipping that homemade toast. Steak cooked perfectly medium rare. If you haven't eaten here, you're missing out. Absolutely delicious!!“

“Our family came to Howies after my daughter raved about this place. We brought my brother and his daughter with. We got to sit up top so our waitress had to carry our drinks and food to up to us. If you haven’t met waitress Jessica W yet you must! She was a rock star! She kept our drinks full and got our food to us in a timely manner. She was so friendly and we all loved her. The food was dynamite! We loved the appetizers and our main meal. We will for sure be back and will be asking for Jessica again!“

“We love Diggers. Best in La Crosse. But a recent trip let us down. The classic bread crack to locals was gone. Fayzes provided it and they closed. Today People’s Food Coop brought Fayzes bakery back. Hoping the wonderful bread is restored!“

“Today my son was at the Culver’s in Onalaska, WI by the high school for lunch. He had no money and had called to try to get money sent to his phone so he could eat with his friends. I called the store to see if I could pay for his food over the phone. The lady who answered explained that she couldn’t take payment over the phone but she would pay for his meal. I said I would pay her back and she said don’t worry about it. She met him by the ice cream cooler and paid for his meal. She was so kind and didn’t even think twice. For someone who probably had a lot more to worry about - like the 60+ kids in her lobby waiting for food, she stopped and used her own money to help my son out. Incredible! I didn’t quite catch her name so will be going in on Friday to see if I can find her to thank her! Incredible person!“

“Stayed here for work Sept , Oct and it is just great. The staff is very nice! There is a small pool and a hot-tub glass windows to see the river. Its nice place to sit when its cold. The Bar looks out on the river. Breakfast lunch and dinner with lounge and tv's in the booths. The patio outside is great they have a fire pit and allow smoking. Its a short walk to everything and a short drive to anything. Parking can be a problem in La Crosse its best to walk, ride bike etc. The rooms are nice the location is perfect.“

Forgot to pay my $15.47 bill the other night and walked out. Came in the next day and was told of my mistake by their manager Kevin and told I was kicked out for life. I didn’t get into a fight, get into an argument, I forgot to pay my bill. That being said everyone there knows I will come in the next day or tomorrow and would make good of it. Please stay away from this place. Cannot believe a fine man Dave Skogen(Festival Foods) is associated with this place?“

“Visited on 6.30.2025 and had breakfast before driving to Minnesota and Iowa. After about a 20 minute wait, I finally got served by Amber. The French Toast was excellent. I think a 4 rating is fair considering the restaurant wasn't full and several servers looked at me until Amber took my order. I would definitely eat here again the next time I visit La Crosse, Wisconsin.“

“Very relaxing, everyone so friendly and food was fabulous! We stayed at The Radisson to see the Rotary Lights. After, we went back, freshened up and went downstairs for dinner, very convenient. We asked to be by the windows with a view the lights while we ate but no seats were available and our table was set at a different location, waiting for us to finish our drinks. The gentleman that seated us, moved our table to a window seat that had just opened up without even asking before we went in. We were very impressed that he did this and it made our meal that much more enjoyable. The food was fantastic and would highly recommend. I have a family member who is at Mayo a lot and often stops there for lunch. He loves it and said that its impossible to be in a bad mood there because the staff are so friendly. “We celebrated our Mom's 90th birthday in the private dining room - Sullivan's was FABULOUS to work with, the food was extraordinary and Morgan handled our group of 20 with ease (she was a delight!). We came in early to decorate and whatever we needed (another table, cloth, vacuum, etc.) they responded with a smile! We even enjoyed cocktails/beer while we prepped.
