“We had breakfast here. My husband ordered the special, homemade corned beef hash and eggs with homemade toast. I had steak and eggs with hash browns and homemade toast. It's been a few years since I've cleaned my plate and I definitely did here. Literally the best hash browns I've ever had. Over easy eggs were perfect for dipping that homemade toast. Steak cooked perfectly medium rare. If you haven't eaten here, you're missing out. Absolutely delicious!!“

“I have been all over the united states and ate at many different restaurants. Hands down the best steak i have ever had that was cooked for me. Servers were on point and the food was 1 of a kind. If i am ever out this way again we will be coming back every time.“

“Our family came to Howies after my daughter raved about this place. We brought my brother and his daughter with. We got to sit up top so our waitress had to carry our drinks and food to up to us. If you haven’t met waitress Jessica W yet you must! She was a rock star! She kept our drinks full and got our food to us in a timely manner. She was so friendly and we all loved her. The food was dynamite! We loved the appetizers and our main meal. We will for sure be back and will be asking for Jessica again!“

“Just left there with friends from Iowa. outstanding food, great service as always. I even messed up my own order and our server whipped it right back to the kitchen and brought me what I actually wanted to order!!! It was my fault entirely. everything was delicious. I especially recommend the Creole Corn chowder and Armadillo eggs (not andouille eggs LOL) Thank you Karen for being a great server. I wished I would have tipped more. you went above and beyond for us!“

“Great experience!! Food takes a bit long to get but tastes excellent, definitely worth the wait. Games are good and they all work! There is axe throwing, music, a bar and some gambling machines. The Staff was amazingly friendly and seriously looking for you to come and have a good time!“

“We love Diggers. Best in La Crosse. But a recent trip let us down. The classic bread crack to locals was gone. Fayzes provided it and they closed. Today People’s Food Coop brought Fayzes bakery back. Hoping the wonderful bread is restored!“

“Stayed here for work Sept , Oct and it is just great. The staff is very nice! There is a small pool and a hot-tub glass windows to see the river. Its nice place to sit when its cold. The Bar looks out on the river. Breakfast lunch and dinner with lounge and tv's in the booths. The patio outside is great they have a fire pit and allow smoking. Its a short walk to everything and a short drive to anything. Parking can be a problem in La Crosse its best to walk, ride bike etc. The rooms are nice the location is perfect.“

We love the best homemade soups in the La Crosse area, the familiar friendly faces that work and patron there, and old school atmosphere! “In town for the weekend for State dance competition. Looked for some things to do to fill the gap between times we needed to be at The LaCrosse Center and found this bowling alley! Great prices, awesome staff, and excellent food! Highly recommend! We had a blast! Will be back again if we find ourselves in town again 🎳😁“

“Decided to check out the restaurant while visiting La Crosse. Ordered the Athenian chicken and it was authentic to what I grew up on. Plenty of food for the price. The only negatives were the dinning room is dated and flies were an issue at the table we had near a window.“

“Very relaxing, everyone so friendly and food was fabulous! We stayed at The Radisson to see the Rotary Lights. After, we went back, freshened up and went downstairs for dinner, very convenient. We asked to be by the windows with a view the lights while we ate but no seats were available and our table was set at a different location, waiting for us to finish our drinks. The gentleman that seated us, moved our table to a window seat that had just opened up without even asking before we went in. We were very impressed that he did this and it made our meal that much more enjoyable. The food was fantastic and would highly recommend. This is our 4th year going there for the lights and we would do it any other way! Enjoy!!!“

“We were in on Tuesday at noon.food was delicious as always but the ribs were not as meaty as we always have gotten in previous visits n the chicKen breast seemed smaller. I would rather pay a little more for the meaty ribs cause good golly they are the best. Please go back to the meaty ribs n bigger chicken breasts as we alway get the big garbage can…alway. And of course the bread pudding was fantastic! Do not mind dropping a 100.00 when we come but please meaty ribs not the thinner ribs we received Tuesday..thank you“
