35 Best Japanese Restaurants near Hopkins

“My wife and myself had the lucky experience of passing briefly through Minneapolis, and decided to try this AMAZING AND TRUE GEM !!!! I am from Lima and we have been able to eat on many great places that serve our delicious food, both in Lima and in the US. To say it simply: K’ikinaco is easily our #1 restaurant, period. There, here, anywhere!! Congratulations friends !! Patricia and Enrique RP. (Arriba Alianza tocayo !!)“

“Excellent sushi & customer service! So delicious!“

“NEVER ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY !! They were randomly closed on a Wednesday, which is fine, however their website DID NOT provide this information ! I ordered my food, they took my money, and the confirmation said that the pick up would be the following day . So I went to the location to see what was going on and that's when I saw the sign in the window claiming they were closed . They have NO option to cancel your order once you've made it so I had to wait to the following day to call . They refuse to refund me my money - I'm only in office one day a week , I'm not driving 35 minutes to pick up food that I wanted the day before ! Whoever answered the phone kept talking over me and cutting me off , she admitted that they don't have a way to cancel an order once it's made (which is ridiculous, I could've just canceled it that day and we wouldn't be in this situation ) I explained to her over and over again that their website DID NOT state that they were closed but she didn't care ! Long story short they got $20 out of me and lost a customer for life !“

“Unbelieveable experience and a must try. Freshest and tastiest food I've ever had.“

“Fun! I got a shrimp roll, karage and Miraculum. Yum, yum, yum!“

“Unbelieveable experience and a must try. Freshest and tastiest food I've ever had.“

“Great place to bring the family for a special occasion like a birthday, anniversary or even a graduation celebration. The staff is always eager to please their guests. The food was super, and there was no waiting. Although, reservations are the best way to get in without any waiting.“

“Absolutely excellent sushi! Great service! Love Kai’s!“

“Very nice experience we all enjoyed definitely coming back!!! Everything was just perfect 🤩“

“We've been regular customers at Ichido in Minnetonka because the food is consistently delicious and the quality has always kept us coming back. Unfortunately, during our visit today, we noticed that the portion sizes were significantly smaller than what we've received in the past.
The taste was still great, but it was disappointing to see such a noticeable reduction in the amount of food, especially since the prices haven't reflected that change. We hope this was just a one-time issue, because we've always enjoyed dining here and would love to continue supporting this restaurant.
We're sharing this feedback in the hope that management takes a look at the consistency of their portions. We truly enjoy the food and want to see Ichido continue to be one of our favorite spots.“

“***** 10 STARS *****

We came here for the first time on our 4 year wedding anniversary with our toddler. What a wonderful establishment!

The food and drinks tasted elevated and complex and were at a reasonable price point. We enjoyed everything we ordered. Some highlights include the caulini tempura, the mentaiko maze udon, the scallop temaki, and the black sesame cheesecake from the dessert place next door (which will be opening soon!) My son was SO excited to eat rice (his favorite food) in the shape of a bear and loved his Calpico drink and the red bean fish treat dessert.

Our waiter was nice, but not overbearing. He was very knowledgeable about the menu, gave us informed recommendations, and provided good advice on handling the hand rolls. The place has simple, but classy decor, and a nice large patio. Management was very generous in recognizing our anniversary with a couple of surprises. We felt very taken care of and were glowing with appreciation at the end of our meal.

We feel grateful to have found this gem in the neighborhood which we plan on returning to many times in the future.“

“I absolutely love it. You can pick your ingredients and sauce. It comes in a compostable bowl which I really appreciate. My little girl wanted some Edamame and Mango only and they made her a tiny kids bowl to go. Awesome customer service!“

“Really friendly staff and delicious sushi!“

“Amazing staff, first time there , explained the process well. Our server cooked the first round for us to show how it works. Great decor , atmosphere.“

“My husband loves Japanese food and we came here for his birthday. The food was delicious. The atmosphere was really clean and easy. Austin took our order at the counter and was such a nice guy! Marvelous customer service, he really made the evening special. Jim especially loved his eel and I had the ribeye udon. We loved the yuzu shiso Spritz!“

“The food was excellent! Probably one of the best! and the service provided by Brian and Riley were over the top superb. It was obvious that they loved working there and took such pride in doing it. So refreshing!!!“

“Food was great. I'm not even a big sushi guy. Shrimp Tampura and whatever sushi she ordered. Pad Thai was good. Not too sweet. Definitely would recommend. $62 before tip for 2 entres and I ordered another shrimp tempura($10) so not to bad“

“Wave Sushi has delicious, high-quality, and reasonably priced fare. The atmosphere is friendly and energetic. A colleague recommended Wave to me, and I’m so glad they did. I also absolutely recommend this gem of a lunch (or early dinner) spot!“

“Always super friendly and have always treated us well. They've always treated us well and have a great sushi happy hour! Never a long wait from order to table. My wife loves the steak dinner with rice and I frequent the sushi. We also go with the gyoza for an appetizer!“

“Great food! Love their sushi!“

“Loved this place! By far the best drunken noodles I've had in Minneapolis, and the sushi servings looked big and really good. I came here with a large group (~12), everyone ordered something different, and each one said their dish was amazing. Hard to find a place that will satisfy everyone, but Bagu definitely does.“

“Everything was very good. I got the White Russian roll which was fantastic. I will say the calamari is definitely a skip. The squid was rubbery and the batter was oily. The vibes in there were awesome. Super cozy and cute. Our waitress was very kind as well. Wasn’t the biggest fan of the mochi either, but the sushi entrees were quite good. I’d come back!“

“The food is insane good!!! Great atmosphere.“

“I am in love with One Two Three Sushi! If you are looking for fresh food with the perfect portion size, that matches an amazing price; this is your place.“

“Best Sushi in town. The crew is top notch! Jacky, Kou, Dan and the rest are the best!“

“This is by far my favorite place to eat. I usually pop in for lunch 1-3 times a week. The servers are wonderful and the sushi is the best i've had. My go-to's are the crazy tuna rolls and mn rolls. I recommend this place every chance I can.“

“Comfy and simple layout with a fantastic quick option for lunch. I used to go here all the time when I lived in the city because they are super efficient, really kind and the food is great. My go to is the shrimp and shrimp combo but everything I've tried here is good“

“Superb service from a very friendly staff that deliver excellent food from impressive menu options. Prices are the least that I've seen recently, especially the " all you can eat" lunch or dinner selections.“

“wow. best sushi in town. the lady that helps at the front please take care of yourself, the business is very busy and for the most part people are responsible and respectful!“

“Our favorite Sushi restaurant. You won't find better food, value, or service anywhere, and proud to say that this gem of a restaurant is in our own Channhassen back yard!“

“The sushi was pretty good and reasonably priced. They were generous with the salmon in the salmon roll and Philly roll, and the fish was really good. However, this is a ghost kitchen in a sketchy area. I don't recommend walking from downtown after dark, and definitely avoid Currie Ave. The locker pickup system didn't work that great and I had to wait around for about 10 minutes even though my order was supposed to be ready when I arrived. And the staff are basically hiding in the back...“

“Absolutely fantastic food consistently!! Crazy Monkey Roll is a favorite and Ginger Mushroom with Chicken.“

“So far, so good! 🤩 The food was really good, especially considering the price. There’s a nice variety of dishes, and everything was flavorful and well presented.

But the dessert was definitely the highlight—top-notch! 🍰✨, Highly recommend giving this place a try!“

“I LOVE this Place food was everything…“
