La Madre Reviews
La Madre brings a vibrant, high-energy dose of authentic Mexican street food to the Mill District. Designed like a bustling Puerto Vallarta cantina, the space pairs a warm, rustic vibe with an inviting patio. The kitchen delivers bold, home-cooked comfort, highlighting crispy quesa birria, loaded street tacos, and fresh hamachi ceviche.
Very friendly staff, and super good food. Loved it. Will be back‼
Great restaurant, great food and Instagram-esque interior design (you decide if that is good or bad). It's expensive for tacos but you are also paying for the ambiance and location. I would go again. Their non-alcoholic drinks are too good.

La Madre is a popular new restaurant that has quickly become a favorite in the neighborhood. The lively and airy atmosphere makes it a great spot for groups, girls' nights out, or even a pre-game meal. The restaurant is known for its tasty food, especially the tacos, chips and queso, and various seafood dishes. The menu also includes brunch plates, jalapeño poppers, nachos, a burger, chilaquiles, and tostadas. The salsas, often described as a "smother liquid," are enjoyed as all-purpose sauces, though some customers found the salsa portion surprisingly small.
The beverage selection is notable, with a good tequila range and creative mixed drinks. Service staff are friendly and attentive, with some reviews highlighting the helpfulness of the waitstaff, especially at the bar. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible and offers both paid off-street parking and a nearby bus stop. La Madre caters to different dietary needs, including vegan, celiac, and dairy allergies. However, some diners experienced slow service at the bar and issues with the oysters, which had shells and shards that needed better shelling practice. Despite this, many visitors find the food delicious and the atmosphere enjoyable, making La Madre a lively spot for a fun meal.
